I have an idea: What if you combine the number of slots for both whitelist and blacklist, so people can use the total how they want to use it? If someone uses whitelist more, then they do need less slots for blacklist and vice versa.
And I can double the number of my blacklist slots as I do not have anyone in my whitelist. \o/.

Without sgtools you simply make lvl 4+ giveaways, where total amount of people with bad ratio and rulebrakers is little to no, because people know how to use the website already, and what to expect when u make a giveaway, because they actually gift themself. I made a lvl 5 GA for a dlc , i specifically bold text all caps big letters asked do not enter if you already own that please , j do not want to have to reroll it .
I did that cause i had issues with it couple weeks ago .
Guess what .37 entries, every single one had won the exact same dlc over a week ago
Some of the 2-3 times marking all as received .
1 but had won it 11 times in total marking every single one as received . He got permanent banned after i reported him .
So u had to delete that GA , and lose a GA slot.
So that's 36 entries to my blacklist all lvl 5+ .
1k is hard to reach ? Not rly .,.

Congrats on getting that one guy banned, he deserved it for that crap. You would think the site would stop letting you enter them after you had already won one but guess not. Definitely a new feature worth implementing.
Crap, didn't realize it got that bad when it came to the DLC's. Still think the better option would be to have the site automatically not allow you to win the same item more than once than a 5000+ blacklist.
With that situation, I could see a 1000+ blacklist but still see the blacklist as a band-aid fix at best when better options are available.

I agree using what we have at our disposal. My issue with this suggestion was that it wasn't making anything better, it was just making the bandaid longer instead of implementing a fix.
The 2 biggest fixes they could implement would be to have the site auto-exclude you from any giveaway you have already won and confirmed you received and the ability to filter giveaways by ratio instead of just level, that alone would fix probably 90% of the reasons most people even use the blacklists.

It still comes down to you avoiding using the tools available to you.
For you to have over 1000 people on your blacklist you have to be blacklisting due to ratio which even 10,000+ slot wouldn't be enough for your blacklist and the SGTools would be just fine for that purpose.
If you blacklisted due to breaking rules, SGTools would handle that too.
If you are blacklisting due to attitudes, you wouldn't break 1,000 people realistically.
If you are blacklisting due to treating asking about Blacklisting like talking about Fight Club, it would be retarded on your part and still not get you near 1000+ blacklists.
Ask yourself how all these people got onto the blacklist and then ask yourself if the SGTools giveaway wouldn't handle those for you anyways.

You are asking for the wrong solution. You shouldn't be asking to increase the blacklist cap, you should be asking to add a new option under the "Create Giveaway" settings that allow you to limit not only by level, group, or region, but one that would also allow you to limit by ratio.

There are close to a million accounts and 1k slots which is 0.1% ....

Adding more blacklist slots also adds more the server has to deal with especially with all the guys trying to get 5000+ blacklists for anyone who dares to offend their sensibilities. Didn't the server just have to go down for a while while they cleaned up stuff because of site was getting too backlogged with stuff?
You don't have to be hateful to fill 1000 blacklists, you have to be petty to do it or been on here for years and a forum hermit who repeatedly gets offended enough to do it legitimately.

Now that would be hilarious to see. So far I have found myself on 95 different blacklists and even make a game of trying to find out who else has blacklisted me when I get REALLY bored and just scan the forums checking profiles till I find one and haven't failed to do so yet. Almost all of them I have no clue who they are and never talked to them directly.
So the only reasons to have really blacklisted me was either from my ratio or because I asked about blacklists on 2 separate occasions as I think I have only had any actual arguments on here maybe twice to three times total the entire time I have been here. To actually force them to actually ration their blacklists to actual reasons would be funny.

I know the feeling. I kept on hitting the cap awhile ago and I was tired of filtering through it and removing those who were inactive and banned. I just ended up purging the whole thing in the end. I gate most of my good gibs behind whitelist/groups anyways, which is what I recommend in a situation like this. Not ideal, but I doubt Cg plans on upping the cap anytime soon (and he tends to move slower than Valve on most things anyways :/).
