Very nice sounding build there.
Have you tried OC'ing the 670 yet? I hear those DirectCUII coolers are fantastic!
I'll be damned if those 690 II cases aren't going to be on the market forever. They still work quite nicely even with all the newer boxes that have come out since.

Using a PSU like that at 50% load gives a small boost in power efficiency. And how do you know he isn't running a full watercooling loop, or doesn't plan to upgrade to 2 GPUs at some point?

Hm, not worth it, how? Did you not notice a difference? If so, it could have had something to do with your processor, or maybe even something as simple as the second PCI-E slot being disabled when trying to run two cards in SLI.
SLI can be really beneficial in a lot of games. It can almost double your FPS by running two of the same types of video cards. Sure, you have to spend a lot more money (depending on your cards), but it certainly seems worth it to me. =P

There is no doubt that SLI will increase performance significantly. But first of all, the game needs to support it (I haven't seen too many games that do). Secondly, the motherboard needs to support it. And last but not least, the price of two graphics cards would be huge (in order to benefit in the long run). You might as well pay a little more and get one of the latest cards that will give you better performance in the long run anyways. This is just how I see it :P

Oh, in most cases getting a single card over two would definitely be the best way to go. But, the way I look at it, if you already have the required parts, and a great, let's just say, $400 card and want to give a significant boost to your games in 1-4+ years, but don't want to spend another $400 on a completely new card, it might be best just to buy another identical card to put into your system. Not only will your PC be good for gaming a while longer (maybe not the best system in 3-4 years time, but it will still at least be decent), you could also be saving yourself probably anywhere from $100-$300 (depending on the initial price of your card, and how long after you get a second). Then, when that's not good enough, it's probably time for a completely new build again. =P
As for SLI support, that will only grow as time goes on anyway.

I agree. When i bought my 2 560 Ti s they were on sale for $225 each. In most games they outperform a 580 which was $500 at the time. So I managed to save money and gain more FPS by going SLI. At first I did have some compatibility problems, but that was almost a year ago. I haven't run into a single problem on any of my steam games ever.

Keep in mind that everyone does not have money to spend on new stuff, their only solution would be to overclock.
Comment has been collapsed.
From that perspective it makes perfect sense. But I've never encountered someone on the internet or even in real life who overclocks because he can't afford a better card. It's always about having the most powerful system and pushing your PC beyond it's natural limits (when in reality it's good enough as is) which I just don't agree with.

Haha, that's what overclocking will be for me. =P I don't plan on upgrading my new system (when it's built) for a long time other than adding in a second card, so I'll probably start overclocking it later on, before getting another card to squeeze some more out of it.

Judging by the, non-widescreen, low-quality screenshots on your steam profile... I'm guessing I'll be laughing.

You might want to wait for a 660 Ti, The 560s are getting EOLed. I have 2 560 Tis and they are great but you may want to future proof.

This is my current gaming system! (Awesome, I know =P):
Thankfully, I won't be using this pile of garbage for much longer since I'm in the process of getting new parts for a custom build. I have already gotten the CPU, Power Supply, and RAM. I'm getting all of the parts in a funky order due to waiting/hoping for deals.
Here's what the whole build will be:
In case anyone is interested, the price will be around $1000. I'll also be getting a Corsair H100 to put in it sometime later on, and I need to get me a new widescreen monitor.
I think it should turn out to be a pretty great gaming PC. I'm pretty excited!

Best gtx670 is ASUS 670 Cu II TOP
You should look into it.

I'm still looking around at cards, so it isn't set in stone yet. If I remember right, from what I've been looking at, the MSI was pretty good at cooling, as well as being a good card for overclocking (at least the 660 Ti version is).
I'll check out that card in more detail, though. Thanks for your input.
