I just managed to finish DoS1 two weeks ago. I only played MP with a friend and due to RL it took us more than 2 years to finish.
Bought DoS2 minutes after finishing DoS1, just managed to DL it today and hope to start it with the same friend tomorrow :)

Wow, I am quite surprised that someone played it whole with a friend. That's cool. What about dialogs, did you both see all the text? I cannot image it.

Both see the major cutscenes.
Regular dialoge is just seen by the person that stats the conversation, the other player can "tune in" but has to do so manually.

Hi guys,
so Divinity: Original Sin 2 was finally released and I am very happy about it. I bought it when it was in EA and played a bit just to know more about the game so that I would not mess up the builds in final release. Well, I may mess up them anyway, because I didn't play it much but never mind. I will enjoy it either way.
