So, a bunch of good things happened recently and I didn't have enough time to make a celebration train for those.
I pushed myself to level 6, I gave away more games than I have in my library (thanks to perrolijo for pointing that out recently, although I got a bit confused because of a number of wins and a number of purchases on the exploration sale, but this should be quite definitive now), I got my first paycheck on a now job, the firs official meeting with my boss and colleagues went pretty smooth, I'm able to solve some puzzles again, I won a wishlisted game today and maybe a few more things I can't remember now.

To celebrate this I'm running a bunch of simultaneous trains, a puzzle and a whitelist giveaway as usual.

Just to remind the rules:

  • don't share the links/answers
    - first 3 solvers which haven't been yet whitelisted will be if they will comment in the post-puzzle giveaway
  • ranting and frustration appreciated
  • hints will be gradually provided
  • commenting not required, but you can say something (I won't blacklist you in either case)
  • 1 week running time
  • trains are level 1+, post-puzzle giveaways have no level restrictions

The post-puzzle prises are a recently bundled AAA game and a non-bundled brand new indie game.

So, happy multitrack drifting.

ranting and frustration

I have no idea how to even start solving this puzzle.

PS: Oh and congratulations on having a good luck streak and being a physicist who knows a lot about light and colors and how to make painfully hard puzzles I guess.

Congratulations on all the good things happening now. :) As so often I found this puzzle somewhat late and (probably) won't solve it. To everyone that will see the thread thanks to the bump, I wish all the best of luck, though. :)

Even with the solution posted I still don't understand it, so I guess it was a good thing I gave up on this one :-)

Basically, you need this, where a matrix and a vector elements come from the numbers in the giveaways.
The only difference is that Wikipedia example is for a 3x3 matrix, but here you'll have a 5x5 one

Ah, I got it now. I would have had to do a lot more research and trial and error to figure that one out. If I had a lot more time and my life was on the line I am sure I would have eventually figured it out.

Not having taken any college level math classes seems to have finally hurt me. :-)

Thanks for the explanation!
