I already own this game, but I just wanted to make a post about how much fun I've had with Fallout 4. I've got 313 hours in the game so far, and I'm only in the second Act! I just love exploring in these games so much, as there is so much to discover! I know that some people rag on the graphics, but I think they look amazing. I have 35 screenshots so far, and a lot of them have water in them. I just love how it looks!
The only aspect of the game that I am not overly fond of is the Settlement building and upkeep. There is nothing more annoying than being a couple of levels in a building, and getting the "Such-and-such settlement is under attack!". Since I can't fast travel until I exit the building, some of the settlers could be dead by the time I arrive. And being slightly compulsive, I don't want ANY of them to be dead. So, if one of them dies, I reload an earlier save. I did that when one of the named Ghoul settlers died, even though I ended up losing hours of playtime because of it. Darn that Deirdre! She always likes to rush into battle!
I've been a fan of the Fallout games since the very beginning. I fall into the "likes the old AND new Fallout games" camp. Sure, Fallout 3 and 4 are different from the first two games, but I don't find that to be a bad thing. I also enjoyed Fallout: Tactics, but haven't played Fallout: New Vegas yet (although I DO own it).
I think the only Fallout game I wouldn't have liked would be Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, which was only released for consoles.
So here is my radioactive BUMP! :)

Omg, you havent played Fallout: New vegas, thats the best one :)
I must have finished New vegas about 2-3 times on xbox 360 but I only have 6 hours of playtime on PC.
I played a bit Fallout 3 on xbox too but I never finished it there. When I played it on PC for a second time I still hadnt finished the game yet. I thought I had a long way to go so I started over so it would be more fun. But when I was nearing the end of the game I realised I only had like 2 main missions left from first time :) I didnt explore as much in Fallout 3 as I did in New vegas. I think I had explored almost everything on the map in New Vegas.
Unfortunately I never got into Fallout 4. I only have 11 hours and I made two attempts. I liked it more after the second try but I kind of got tired of it when one mission bugged out (that I eventually managed to fix). Soon after that I was at a mission where you where going over a place with radiation. I googled and tried to find a power core for my armour. I went to the place where it said one should be and it wasnt there. After that I got tired and quit the game.
A friend of mine said power cores where easy to find but I guess I hadnt had enough playtime to get into the game so I know where everything is. I really hated the building settlements part of the game and I wasted some time there too.
I havent played the old games and I will probably never try Fallout 76 :)

This thread inspired me to finally start the classic fallout games. The UI shows its age, but the rest is timeless.
