The Indiana Jones games, when I was a child and I got my first computer, it only had a couple of games in it, FoA being one of them, and these adventure games were so confusing to me at the time because I couldn't understand anything, so I can thank these games for making me want to study English! :D

I am surprised that just a few people mentioned monkey island. also the telltale adventure is great.
TWD games are pretty good, and don't forget deponia.
