Here we go, I'll start.

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) - This movie is a joke. At first it's interesting, then it's boring and then it's just funny/pathetic. And they put it in a "horror" genre. Words are not sufficient. Nosferatu is turning in his grave. 3/10

Wonder Woman

Loved the character and especially how Gal Gadot played her, she has such a talent to behave slightly silly in a very entertaining way. Anyway, they had some unique and creative ideas for Wonder Woman and that was wonderful. The movie plot itself was pretty generic and often made little sense.

That was my take on it, too. Good actress, weak writing.

Watched Upgrade (2018) - really nice low-budget sci-fi thriller with good plot and action. And Hereditary (2018) - one of the best horror films in my opinion, very atmospheric, actually scary and nicely done plot twists.

I'll have to give both a watch. Thanks for sharing.

The new Beauty and the Beast movie, my friends wanted to see it and it actually was kinda good. Before that I watched a shitty Japanese horror movie which was sometimes even less scary than Beatuy and the Beast lol

Finally got to see Deadpool 2 just now.

God DAMN that was hilarious. Might actually have been better than the first movie.

I'm STILL trying to catch my breath after seeing this end credits scene.

Not gonna click. I don't want to spoil it for myself. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one. I thought the first one was hilarious and loved it. )

That clip spoils absolutely nothing. Nothing at all. It's just a hilarious scene they added for the credits.

But, to each their own and I can't force you.

I make it a point to sit through the credits whenever I watch a movie. I enjoy it almost as much as the movie. )

I don't think ANYTHING can be as bad as that. And I've seen some REALLY bad movies in my life. And that was STILL worse than them.

Even Bloodsucking Redneck Vampires was still better.

I haven't seen it, not recently, but I was thinking about Soldier, today. It's considered a "B" movie, but it's a good "B" movie. The story was decent, the message was excellent, and the acting was good to excellent. It's only got 6/10 stars, but I highly recommend watching it at least once. It will give you a lot to think about.

It is a good movie. The director is currently working on Monster Hunter - didn't know they were making one already.. and his AVP happens to be one of my guilty pleasures. I was surprised to find out that the writer, David Webb Peoples, also wrote Unforgiven, Twelve Monkeys and Bladerunner, so that explains that, I suppose.

I remember I saw it as a kid and I really liked it, mostly because of the setting. I remember it was a good, entertaining movie. I think I'll have to rewatch it again.

What does the checkbox mean? I'd love to see Across 110th Street, but Netflix has it on save so, probably never for me.

Maybe so. I like gritty, 70s crime movies, especially if they are set in NYC. Thanks for the info. It's a theatrical movie though - maybe you saw a cropped version?

Yup. I watched the trailer for it on Amazon and noticed it was panned and scanned. One thing led to another in my mis-wired brain :D

Considering that I only watched Nostalgia critic's review of fem Ghostbusters, I'd say they are equally bad. Both are trying to look smart, with a cool twist just like Ocean's trilogy. But the characters are so plain and stupid, without any charisma.

I liked Despicable Me and DM2. I'm afraid to watch DM3 for fear it will ruin the good memories I have of the franchise.

For me it was one huge disappointment.

That's how I felt about the Harry Potter movies. It's very rare that a movie is anywhere near as good as the book. The only example I can remember off the top of my head is the most-recent Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies. I still think the books are better, but at least the movies were good.

I haven't read Ready Player One, so that won't be an issue for me with that movie. )

Then you might even enjoy the movie ;)

I agree with you on the Tolkien movies, they were more than decent.
Game of thrones is another example. I was really scared they would destroy it. I was one of those (seemingly few) who read the books before there was word about a series. Books are way better but the series are great imo.

Smiles of a Summer Night
I enjoyed it, and especially the philosophizing monologues, but I also felt that it was too melodramatic. For a comedy, it wasn't that funny.

Antman & The Wasp, pretty fun movie, although I was confused about the title as they never mention The Wasp in the movie itself.

Recently got a moviepass so I started going to the movies more often, even the ones that aren't as hyped up but seemed interesting to me. Past two weeks:

  • The Spy Who Dumped Me, was quite funny, seems a bit like other comedies Mila Kunis played in.
  • Christopher Robin, I don't remember anything anymore of Winnie the Pooh, but this was a great movie, one that I would love to watch another time with people (and honestly, I usually never want to watch a movie a second time)
  • The Darkest Minds, apparently it's an adaptation of a YA book. It was okay, but I think it's more a movie for teenage girls.
  • The Happytime Murders, if you like lame jagged & sexual tinted jokes then this is your movie, I did not like it that much.

Oceans 8

Former movies were better in every aspect. Acting is good and its no problem for me to see an all female cast (which was great btw) but this movie was slow as fuck, unfunny and the heist was uninteresting. A big meh!

The Death of Superman, DAMN that was good. It's amazing how great the DC animated movies are phenomenal and the live action ones are bad.

Now I have to wait for next year. Rise of the Suoermen,

Essentially, the movies are the New 52 art style telling of the old Death and Return of Superman books from 1993.
