Honestly if there was adblock and noscript for IE I'd be using that right now, but for now I'm happy with FF. Whatever people may say and how crap ie was, it has actually become really stable and good.

Chrome is using a lot more memory and CPU time than FF. Also Chrome is missing a lot of features what's built-in by default in FF. I used Chrome about 2 weeks, because my friend told me I must try it, because it's soooo cool. I struggled with it a lot and clicked about 3 times as much than FF. The one I missed in Chrome that it's not remembers the download folders of the individual sites. FF does that by default. I always needed to find the appropriate folder... And lot more... But I never experienced any crash with Chrome, neither with FF. Chrome sux. FF 4ever!

I use both, and no problems at all. Actually, Chrome is faster, never had a crash, but FF is kinda laggy

Firefox is faster than Chrome with a heavy tab load.
Chrome is faster than Firefox with a small tab load.

It's very simple. Right now I have one chrome tab take up 150k (heaviest one, mind you, they range from 30-150k atm), whereas my 10 firefox tabs take up about 300k memory. I have about 10 chrome tabs in total, and they total around 500K. The websites are more or less balanced out in load, gmail on both, a few youtubes on both, random sites on both.

This goes out to most previous commenters:
Both are amazing browsers. Stop being stuck-up, "team chrome", you're sounding like twilight fangirls.

Also note that Chrome's javascript engine is faster than Firefox's, and this can make a noticeable difference when you browse javascript-heavy websites.

Did you bother to look at any other posts? Lots of fandom going around for every browser.

I looked on older posts, again, and it's still mostly Chrome users who have an "attitude" about which is best. Both work great, unless your PC has issues of its own, or you misuse the browser, like installing 50 toolbars. That's the bottomline.

I use chrome dev and it rarely crashes if at all.

From what I've seen and read (largely on HN and other sites), Firefox excels in ram usage when you have a large number of tabs (30+). Another bonus for Firefox is that its easily themeable via Stylish, which is good for ricers. Also, Firefox and Chromium is free (as in freedom) while Chrome is free (as in free beer).

I've been using Firefox for years, but then I switched to Chrome few months ago. I like FF more but I find Chrome more stable and somewhat faster, FF would often crash and freeze (especially when my resource usage was high).
