wing commander (1999)

I have played and finished all games in the saga so my love for this film is nostalgic for my playtime on PC...

Waterworld, it's got like 6.1 on imdb, but is universally hated on by the internet. And the Killer Tomatoes movies, sure they are bad, but the awesome cheesy kinda bad.

Tonnes of them. Despite my background in cinema, or perhaps because of it I adore kitschy genre B-movies of the so bad it's good variety.
What comes to mind first are the vulgar, cheap sketch comedy films from the 1970s such as Kentucky Fried Movie, Tunnelvision and The Groove Tube. And the better quality 1980s one Amazon Women on the Moon.
Another one is The Van, a 1977 coming of age film that has aged shockingly badly. I say shockingly as it's about a teenager who buys a tricked out van in order to get laid, but all throughout the film his approach to girls was what was surely meant to be desperately horny and coming on strong then, but today is seen as blatant sexual assault. It's astonishing to look back with today's values at what was then a lighthearted comedy.
And finally, Joysticks, a 1984 comedy revolving around an arcade. Because it's full of classic arcade games, and I do like classic games. In an odd way it's actually a bit nice for it's time as it shows young people from different cliques who would normally never associate with one another in an 80s teen comedy all coming together out of the joy of video games. Which is nice.
Oh, and I can't forget Troma. I do love Troma, as should anyone with a strong stomach and a dark sense of humour.

Hawk The Slayer pops in at 5.4 on IMDb so just under the requirement (although it does scrore 57% on Rotten Tomatoes I just love the characters in it and the storyline is half decent too

The first 10 minutes is awesome. After Jesus gets a haircut it goes to shit.

Talking of Gilliam, have you seen Zero Theorem? I remember watching the trailer on YouTube ages ago and then heard nothing more about it.

Yes I saw it. As every Gilliam movie, it's at least interesting and at times inspired. But it's also confusing (the wrong kind of confusing) and visually tiresome...

Meet Joe Black. The biggest difference I've got between my classifications and critics. Usually recommend it and people enjoy.

The Punisher had it's flaws, but it was still good, Thomas Jane was a great pick. Whether you agree or not, here's a nice short.

Ben Affleck's Daredevil
For this last one, I still have to ask something: why people hate him so hard. He's not the best actor in the world, but he isn't so bad at all. I liked his performance on Batman vs. Superman, which he presented an old, dark and gloomy Batman perfect for that scenario and IMO close to the Dark Knight setting. The script is still a trainwreck, but the actors present a good performance regardless.
Daredevil is another one who has good players and performances, but people love to bash Affleck, doesn't matter what he do. Maybe is something against his appearances on Kevin Smith's movies. :)

I haven't watched them in recent years, but I enjoyed a lot of comedies in the 1990s and early 2000s that I'm sure don't get good ratings: Cabin Boy, Life Stinks, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, Dirty Work, Screwed, High School High, Spy Hard, National Lampoons Loaded Weapon, Hot Shots (and Part Deux), Baseketball, Mom and Dad Save the World, Stay Tuned, Death Becomes Her, Toys, Bubble Boy.

There are so many that I enjoy that get a bad rating or hear bad things about. For me, it really helps going in with very little knowledge of the film, other than the type, so I can get the most out of it. All the hype and the dozen trailers out there detract from the movie, in my opinion. You see or hear too much, build it up in your head, only to be let down when it finally arrives. It doesn't hurt that my typical movies are action or comedy based where a strong plot and character development are not required. I like sitting back and enjoying the experience for what it is, though this may be a sad commentary regarding the state of movies when you kind of need to shut your brain down to really enjoy them.
Filling out this list was harder than I though, there were quite a few between 5.6 and 6. Also, surprised to see many others were better received than I thought, based on the negative things I heard.

It doesn't have a terrible rating on IMDB, but a lot of people make fun of The Butterfly Effect. I love that movie.

Ok not really poorly rated but pretty split: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

I've always liked a comedy called Kung Pow Enter the Fist. Everyone I talk to in person thinks it's a stupid movie, but maybe that's just my local area becaus eon Rotten Tomatoes the user score is in the 60s. The critics were not so nice haha.

By poorly rated I mean like a 5.5 or below on IMDB or less than 50% on the Rotten Tomato Meter for both fans and critics (some films critics love that audiences hate, and vice versa but if it's hated by both groups, then it must really, really suck).
I don't care what y'all say, I LIKE Master of Disguise (1% Critics/31% Audience). It's stupid and I find it funny regardless.
