I really enjoyed the 2011 version of The Three Musketeers (It squeaks in just above your suggested rating of 5.5 or below with a 5.8 but it's pretty much panned on Rotten Tomatoes)
I liked it even more after I bought the DVD and listened to the director commentary. There was a lot of love and heart that went into making it. Plus it was fun to see Orlando Bloom play a bad guy. He was clearly having a lot of fun with it.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Not a great movie but I love Optimus Prime and this movie has him at his best. After this one I just hated the 3rd one and loathed the 4th.

It has a 6.1 on IMDB, but it's Rotten Tomatoes score is garbadge, but I still love that movie: It's Sucker Punch.
In my opinion it has a great way of capturing the feeling of being carried away by a dream, and of course that moment, when your imagination just runs wild because of music.

The Punisher(2004) - the one starring Thomas Jane....It's actually one of my favorite super hero films :/ I like it more than guardians of the galaxy and thor movies combined.
The next two on my list I enjoy, but wouldn't call them one of my top favorites.
Garbage Pail Kids would be my second favorite....Followed by Howard the duck, my third favorite

There was a similar thread a few months ago. This was my reply there:
Movies most people hate that I loved:
The Bonfire of the Vanities - IMDB grade: 5.4, My grade: 9
Sphere - IMDB grade: 6, My grade: 9
Last Action Hero - IMDB grade: 6.2, My grade: 9
And the other way around:
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - IMDB grade: 8.9, My grade: 4
Pan's Labyrinth - IMDB grade: 8.2, My grade: 4
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - IMDB grade: 7.3, My grade: 2

+1 for 'Last Action Hero'. It isn't perfect, but it has some great ideas. And hey, it's Shane Black!

I wasn't really into any of those highly rated movies, either. In particular, I don't think that any of the Clint Eastwood led Italian/Spanish westerns hold a candle to the classics like Once Upon A Time In The West and so many others.

Woody Allen's To Rome with Love, Hollywood Ending, Scoop and Whatever Works;
I haven't watched To Rome with Love yet, but for the other three I think the IMDB grades are not too far off. I general though I think Woody Allen movies are underrated, possibly because so many people are annoyed by him (yet still come back for more).

Not quite 5.5 but The Postman with Kevin Costner. People seem to hate it but I quite enjoyed it. I generally like post apocalyptic settings, not just in movies but also in games like Fallout or Stalker

Irreversible. Its metascore is 51/100 and its critic score on Rotten Tomatoes is 57%.
Also, The Fountain, with 51/100 metascore and 51% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Other than those, I can only find films with high ratings that I dislike, not really the opposite. This is only one example of that.

I think the reaction to Irreversible was the squeamishness at Monica Bellucci's degradation, similar to how Roger Ebert could never get over the way Isabella Rosselini's character was treated in Blue Velvet. It's impossible sometimes for some to separate the actor/actress from the part, and they don't even want to look at a favorite entertainer being seen like that.

Just recalled another one with a similar reception.
Much farther from Irreversible's class (so to speak), technicality, acting talent and innovative storytelling, but I feel it's deserving of a higher rating. It definitely has a message, as opposed to what a lot of people have said; it's not just shock factor for the sake of it. The Saw series would be a much better contender for a "just shock factor for the sake of it"-type film. Or for entertainment, whichever you prefer, lol.

I saw The Fountain a few days ago. Saw it was recommended if u liked Inception. I didnt know the score (for The Fountain) was that "low". I was thinking that the critics might rate it higher to show how amazeballs smart they are like how they do with Von Triers movies (Europa anyone?). I think 5 is about right though. It
s more of an experimentation. Spoiler?! Alert!
'hey, we can model this tree and add some spiritual spaceshit, we just need a tragic story in modern life to attach this to."
They should have just made it into a shortfilm and get it over with (in 5 minutes).
Irreversible, oh my. My dad saw that in the cinema. He said most people walked out in the first 5 minutes. I believe it was the music, it made people nauseous. I saw it and wouldnt recommend it but would still rate it highly, if u know what I
m sayin.

Brain Donors is my guilty pleasure (44% on rotten tomatoes) https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/brain_donors/
The movie is a modern update to the Marx Brothers' A Night at the Opera (a great movie as well).
A random line from Brain Donors, (the main character speaking to a woman), "Some day you'll have my children. In fact, they're in the car if you want them. "

Oh yeah on both of those! 'The Punisher' was pretty mindless, but I watched that a ton a few years back. It had charisma.

I loved Master of Disguise to be honest! Another one I really appreciate is Hot Rod. Could be argued as a higher than 50% movie, but it seems movie critics dislike it.

'Constantine' (the 2005 movie, not the TV show). It's actually quite good, good scrip, stylish shooting. If you get over that it's pretty distant from the source material it's a solid piece of gothic urban fantasy.
(It's rated too highly on IMDB, but Rotten Tomatoes comes through with the hate. The same is true of my runner-up underapreciated favorite: 'Last Action Hero.')

Nacho Libre. For whatever reason I loved that movie, and thought it had some of Jack Black's best work. Most folks disagree. 40% on Rotten Tomatoes

Sucker Punch. I love the visuals. I wasn't expecting a deep introspection just an hour and a half of spectacle on the screen.

i might get a lot of flak for this but Uwe Boll's Postal
it was by no means a good movie but for once Uwe Boll got the source matieral somewhat right

By poorly rated I mean like a 5.5 or below on IMDB or less than 50% on the Rotten Tomato Meter for both fans and critics (some films critics love that audiences hate, and vice versa but if it's hated by both groups, then it must really, really suck).
I don't care what y'all say, I LIKE Master of Disguise (1% Critics/31% Audience). It's stupid and I find it funny regardless.
