I'm sorry for your loss, and, like most others here, I can understand your pain quite acutely. I've been thinking for a while what to say, as that sort of loss is one no words can describe well. I even put down my laptop and thought about it for a while, because I'm pretty bad at saying the right thing at these times. I came up with something, which is, I suppose, slightly better than nothing, but it's nothing great. :)
For the time being, try to carry on as usual as much as you can, and take some time to heal your heart. These two things may sound contradictory, but they're actually not, because carrying on is also important for the healing process. We don't heal our grief by shutting everything off, but by facing the next day. I hope your next days are ever less painful than today, until soon her memory only brings up smiles.

I am very sorry for what you're going through, I lost my dog last month and I'm still not over it so I can completely understand your pain. I want to also thank the people adding to the train, it's an incredibly sweet gesture to remember someone's beloved pet, everyone involved in this is great
I hope you rest well, Princess, and that you can see how much you're loved even now, even by people who didn't have the pleasure of meeting you

Thank you. I'm very sorry about your loss as well.
As for the train, I wasn't expecting anything like it honestly. I just wanted to give a few things and it has snowballed into a full on train thanks to other pet owners struggling with similar situations and some very kind members of the community. It's heartwarming.

Sorry for your loss, friend. Each time I want to adopt cat/dog or any other animal I stop myself, cuz I understand how I will feel after 7-10 years =/

It can be difficult. Over the years I've lost a number of pets and it really doesn't get easier. To this day I still think about most of them as well. The good memories outweigh the sorrows though. Giving our animal friends a loving home in return for great memories is fulfilling.

Sorry for your loss.
I used to have a cat I liked a lot in my the rural house of my grandfather. She was chill, calm and not at all aggressive. Totally my type of cat. While I do miss her, I am very much glad she was there to shed some light into my life.
I am sure you gave your cat a very fulfilling life and showered it with plenty of love. While it is painful to lose them, we can only move on while holding dear the lovely memories we have of them.

Very true. They build homes in our hearts as well. Thank you.

I'm so sorry for you and your kitty :( It sounds like you took amazing care of her and had lots of fun together! It's a brave thing to care so much about someone else, it's one of the most important things we can do! One of my favourite sayings is, "it's better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all" I hope you will have a gentle healing process and know everything you did for her was appreciated more than you can know ♡

I am so terribly sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a loved pet is like losing a part of yourself. I know the wounds will never fully heal, but with time the pain will subside. It looks like you gave your princess a wonderful life. My best wishes to you and your family.
P.S. I have also added one cart to the train like many others before me.

My cat passed today. The sweet 9irl was just shy of 14 this month. Unfortunately, she Had been struggling with renal failure for the last two years and although we kept her going with a number of weekly treatments, she left us thIs evening. My family and I always used to affectionately call her our "princess" and she is sorely missed already. She loved pawing at papers, honey ham, and in her last few years, jumping on things she wasn't allOwed on. My guess is to make up for all the missed opportunities!
I don't have a ton of keys left over right now but it would be a real shame not to put together a little something in remembrance of her. Enjoy a small number of quick weekend giveaways. Level 4 required. Ending October 8th at 7:00PM PDT.
Update: The community has come together and started adding more carts. I think this is a Farewell Train now? At the very least, I believe the number of carts has doubled since I posted this. Thank you—everyone—for your kindness.
Update 2: This was originally just a way for me to send my girl off with some extra positive energy. It's turned into a lot of support, kind words, and really shows the giving spirit of many here. I'm unable to reply to everyone in a timely manner but let me give you a heartfelt thank you here in place of that as I'm trying to catch up with all the comments and well wishes.
