I don't think I've seen Save the Furries mentioned yet. I used to play similar free flash games, but it's a decent one if you want it on steam.

There are many games a six year-old would enjoy, but it really does depend on personal taste. When my nieces were younger, they liked to play various games, including Terraria and Castle Crashers. When the youngest turned seven, she started playing Left 4 Dead 2. (Go figure.)

Let's see... For boys, I'd try some of these.

  • Terraria
  • Castle Crashers
  • LEGO games (any of them)
  • Marvin's Mittens
  • Commander Keen (Complete Pack)
  • Costume Quest
  • DC Universe Online (with help)
  • Eufloria
  • Magicka
  • Max & the Magic Marker
  • Monster Loves You (if his reading is good)
  • Plants vs. Zombies (with help getting started)
  • Osmos
  • Penguin's Arena, (may be challenging)
  • Reach for the Sun
  • School Bus Fun
  • Torchlight
  • Worms Armageddon

Don't forget that there are websites like coolmath-games.com that have educational games for kids as young as five years old. Also, school districts usually have websites with links to educational gaming sites for their kids.

My 5 year old enjoyed Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack and Toki Tori. Also Faerie Solitaire works for all ages.

Like plenty of people have said before anything with Lego in its name, and I've heard that Bolt is a good one for kids

Broforce would be my pick, especially if you're interested in something to play with him.
