Fallout: New Vegas

NV is better, but I joined the 3 GA because I only tried the cough-cough version of it, while my NV is all legit. Thanks and bumperino.

OK, yeah, I definitely can't beat that one, at least not without getting suspended from SG. :O
One of the stranger FO4 gifs I've ever seen, for sure. ;)

Question of preference.
Do you like exploring a lot, shooting a lot of randomly spawning enemies, a great world map, and not bothered by zero-dimensional characters, atrocious voice acting, zero realism, and the total absence of any semblance of a story? Fallout 3.
Do you like role-playing, a plot that relies heavily on player choices, mid to long term consequences, and letting you do any play style from pacifist diplomat to savage psyhco; and you aren't bothered by a boring map, uninteresting and unchallenging combat, and the possibility that you need to manually debug a lot of quests since they are so complex for the engine that they tend to break a lot? New Vegas.

Both are good in their own right– FO3 as an action-oriented dungeon crawler and NV as a modern cRPG– but they cater to different tastes.

F3 had a better atmosphere and RPG feeling

New Vegas had a comprehensible story, visibly good character development and actually stayed true to FO 1 & 2. FO3 had none of that.

Then again, as far as RPGs, the character development/companion development was still pretty shallow. That's one of my personal pet peeves of 99% of games out there. Companion/character development is always ignored / barely focused on.

Also, apparently Bethesda doesn't recognize New Vegas as a Fallout game, so fuck them, assuming that popular rumour is true.

The recognise it, but disregard most of its content and gameplay changes. (That didn't stop them from stealing half of FO4's new features from NV mods though.)

I really like the setting of New Vegas, instead of the standard post-apocalypse scenario we get to see the next stage, when nations begin to rise again (and fight again).

For me it's New Vegas, for a much more in-depth RPG system and worldbuilding. Not to mention that sticking to the lore

It's kinda lame I don't get to participate in any giveaways like that because of that:

"Your account must have activated all the won gifts"

I was the one that contacted steamgifts support about this, I accidentaly activated my won gift on my second steam account as I thought I was logged in on my main, didn't even think about it.

I got 7 days ban for it and have to pay for it everytime I see a giveaway with this requierement, not cool. Simple mistake costs way too much, I even flagged myself for that.

You can buy that game

Yeah, I had that option from support and I chose to get banned for 7 days (although I expected that ban time would be lower since I contacted them myself), it doesn't make any sense to buy a game I already have on my second account (although activated accidentaly), waste of money and I won't waste money, better to donate it to a charity or something. Why are people punishing me all the time too?

it's a 5 days suspension for unactivated wins.

and why are you punished?
because it's in the rules, or else everyone would do the same and claim they activated it on another account.

You are right about 5 days suspension, I just checked it in my support ticket.

I didn't ask you why I'm punished by steamgifts site because I understand that (although it's lame imo that I still got a full suspension for it since I reported myself right after I noticed what I did, proved that second account is my alternate and they didn't answer to me, just suspended, game was extremely cheap too, from 1$ bundle - so yeah, great idea to scam, report yourself and get banned for it).

I asked why I am constantly being punished by steamgifts users although I have already gotten punishment for not activating it on my main, I can't join any giveaways from forums (almost) because of that stupid rule you guys require.

Looks like I'm going to make a separate thread for that sooner or later. Getting punished all the time is not cool at all.

if you make a thread to complain about people blacklisting or using sgtools because you have 1 unactivated game... it will do you x100000 times more harm than any good.

you just said the game was in a bundle and it was worth $1... what's stopping you from trading it? you could probably get it for a few cards.

More harm than any good? I don't really care since I'm telling the truth that I shouldn't be punished constantly by random, unknown to me users when I have already been banned and punished for it. It doesn't make any sense and it's unfair.

Just fyi:

Yep, I have never thought about it before (trading something for that game), because I just got back to steamgifts after few months of not using it (will consider it and most probably trade for that game since it's that cheap), but I still think it's a really stupid requirement - you just get punished constantly for something you have already been punished. It still doesn't make any sense to me.

Simple mistake costs way too much

You could get it in a trade for 5 cards.

I would understand your frustration if fixing your mistake meant having to pay $5-10-or whatever amount of money to purchase the title, but since it's a just cheap, common, bundle game... no, I really don't get why you're complaining. You've made a mistake, right. But you can fix it easily. It's up to you. You either add the game and regain a clean profile or you don't and you keep getting excluded from GA's that have "no unactivated gifts" as a requirement. (which is not a stupid rule, btw)

Well, it was developed for about 4-5 years, while Obsidian got 1.5 year to create and market New Vegas. Their world maps are the exact same size, by the way, and NV actually has more than twice as many quests. (Which, again, if you look at the development times, is just baffling.)

My vote goes to 3. I loved all the stories you could find. All the computers, texts, holotapes. Such a rich world. New Vegas was missing a lot of that. It felt empty, somehow. Though it had its fun bits and characters too.

Fallout 3 was incredibly tedious: the world felt empty, loot was uninteresting, and the battles were repetitive. New Vegas fixed all that, as far as I'm concerned.
