Well, I didn't plan on sparking an argument when I started this topic. :/ But eh, what's done is done.

On a side note, I used to like kinder eggs. They were like chocolate Happy Meals. Then they disappeared. :( I guess I now know why.

In my country, they still exist, it's only they've become a luxury product, at more than 1 € the egg. Though I can imagine many coutries having them much more expensive.

Australia has a ban on pornography with women that have A-cup sized breasts. Classification boards reason - It encourages pedophilia.

As if those women weren't insecure enough already! Then they get officially insulted by the government! XD

So Australia says pedophilia is a choice? Ridiculous. Wonder what female activists think of that.
Wow and I thought the USA have the most stupid laws.

Looks like muslims like to ban things

Yes, because there are only Muslims and Christians around the world, right?

Nope. But since Islam and Christianity (+ Judaism) originated from the same "concept" and they are the two religions with most followers.. Well, then maybe you can understand why I posted that.

I just meant that he don't talked about other religions, only Muslim. And since Muslims are the most hardcore in banning things, well, then maybe you can understand why he/I posted that xD

Perhaps it's hardcore from your perspective, but from another culture's perspective then that culture might think 'we' have a weird way of running things. It's all relative. :)

Well, obviously is all relative. With hardcore I mean 'weirdest'. From the same perspective, the other religions are 'less weird', simply because, for example, Cristians bans things, but Muslims bans almost the same things as Christians and also some other things, so is 'more weird'.

I've done some things banned by the bible but no ones cared. But try to do them in a muslim country and you will be killed probably.

Muslims are not the ones who are banning things in countries. People are. Banning something is an action made by people and not something an ancient text can do. It has nothing to do with religion. However, religion can be used as an excuse rather than a logical explanation for banning things as a government. Which, to me, is something that I wish happened less in the world. No matter the religion or country.

And no, I am pretty sure that there are a lot of countries where Islam is the majority of the religious populations where you can do whatever the Bible advise you not to do. Before you state something like you did, then do some research, please. Ignorance is such an unattractive trait.

I don't want to offend someone. I'm just saying what i think. I'm just happy i'm not living in a muslim country where all the fun things are banned.
The thing is that religion should be something people choose and live by and i respect that. But if someone don't want to be religious and live by religious laws he should have that right. In many muslim countries people have no right to choose, especially women. This is what i consider a bad thing and you can call me ignorant or stupid or something else but i will not change my mind. I'm all for freedom and freedom of choice and if someone take this from people i do not respect them.

People no, Muslim governators. That's why some Muslim countries are like that.

You know what image has Muslim religion around the world, the worse part about women treatment, and because of that it has the fame of being 0 tolerant. So looking all those things, we still have to know if civil people forces their childrens to be Muslims, or they let them decide.

There are tons of religions around the world, but always you hear the worse things about Muslims. There's a saying for that: where there's smoke there's fire.

And I continue now. Some hundreds of years ago there were Kings and such things that 'forced' people to be Christians, but seems that they 'evolved' with the past of time and now are accepting the liberty of the people. There are still faggot Christians, but are a minority. Now Muslims are in the same time as old Christians, surely in the future they are going to be more tolerant.

PD: I'm talking always about Christians because I live in a Christian country, don't really know about other religions, only the things that I hear/read. Btw I'm an atheist xD

Politicians are people, they make the rules. They can choose to either use their interpretation of ancient texts to enhance their power, or they can not. Politicians are just a minority of the religious population.

Please, there are a lot of things that the media does not write about. When there's smoke, there is fire, yes. But do we even know who lights that fire?

People have a choice, either to research a topic themselves or to simply believe everything they read. I've researched religions a lot during my lifetime and I can assure you that there are bad apples everywhere. No matter what you believe in or don't believe in. If you are going to speak up about Islam then you should research if your statements are true or not. Now, you admitted that you don't know about any other religion than Christianity, then why do you state that the treatment of women is horrible in Islam? Had you researched a little, read what the Quran says about women, and how to treat people in general, then you'd have a different opinion. Maybe you'd even agree that people use their interpretation of religion to their advantage in order to rule a country.

And please don't use the word 'faggot', it's offensive.

I know that faggot is offensive. I wanted to describe a kind of Christians that are... don't know to explain without offending them xDD I think that 'retrograde' fits better, sorry for using 'faggot'.

Women treatment is horrible just because of freedom. People should have freedom of doing what they want without limiting the freedom of other persons, the other way is not freedom, is licentiousness. Also childs have to be teached that there are not any distinction in genre and races, and religions, specially the Islamic, is professional in just teaching the opposite.

A few examples of what Quran says:
“They ask you about menstruation. Say: ‘It is an indisposition. Keep aloof from women during their menstrual periods and do not approach them until they are clean again; when they are clean, have intercourse with them whence God enjoined you….’”

“Women are your fields: go, then, into your fields whence you please.”

As you can see, freedom is really limited here. That IS bad, really bad...

And those are not the worse. I got those from here http://freethoughtnation.com/what-does-the-koran-say-about-women/. I know that is a 'rage' website, that Quran obviously has good things, but looking and the 'bad' ones the good things become nothing.

I actually agree with quite a few of the things there, most of them are actually still laws today.
And if they're not, are often considered as strange or wrong things themselves, not really requiring people to be told not to.
Others of those were probably there more because that's what they were used to, or I suppose you could say it was a different time.
There's plenty of people around today who would probably be fine with Stonings, hundreds of times I've seen or heard them say "I wish we could just kill the stupid people."
Plus, many old testament laws were abolished through the new testament, as that page states.
