Have to agree with you on that point. No matter how I sugarcoat it, I don't care for TF2 in the slightest, and my greed has gotten the better of me and I've been trading with stuff from it for the better part of a year now. Even though I've made practically 100x as much with my "real" job's salary.
He most likely was a child, judging from the references to his guardians and very childish use of emoticons, which he had been trying to use to appeal to my sympathetic side, which is in a ditch somewhere tonight.

pretty much. tf2 pre-order items are essentially store credit at this point. Example: if you bought the Cave on Amazon it was 15$, and 5$ store credit. if you bought it on Steam it was 15$, and 5$ in tf2 items. i don't see why people whine so much about them.

I like having TF2 items as pre-order incentives, and I don't even play TF2 lol. No one is forcing you to pre-order after all ^^ I'm also pissed off with Aliens, but at least it's not the worst game out there.
And that pastybin was very amusing. There are some real idiots out there, I would have blocked him before even getting half way through that convo. His desperation was rude and immature. I avoid trading as much as I can, it's one of the most annoying things I've experienced online, no joke.

Lol, that is true, and all my pre-orders and mistakes ultimately fall onto me, the buyer. Yeah, Aliens isn't too bad. Just have to be pissed off at something today.
Yeah, it really is one of the worst things I've experienced as well and, even though I have met some good people on the way, meeting 10 more assholes/idiots/kids in the same day really gets to me. I'll be done with trading once I get rid of the last of my inventory, which is practically nothing at this point.

It wasnt that bad, Ive done a fair ammount of trading tf2 items for games (actualy most of the games on my account were acquired with trading) and i had way worse conversations then the one u posted up there :D
it helps if u write this in trade (keys/metal nothing else & dont add me for offers or to negotiate price - offers here in trade thread - those that dont follow these rules wil be blocked...) always write that ! :D
and if someone still adds u after that and offers shit, u can just say "read rules next time" and block them

Lol, that sucks. I've had worse as well, but just didn't bother to post them back then since I had been really tired at the time. For some reason, my worst conversations happen right as I plan to sleep.
Actually have that in my trades already, in addition to my profile. I really hate blocking people though and try to be nice all the time, which doesn't really work out for me sometimes. D:

Ok, so this guy added me and I had a very unpleasant conversation with him.
Pastybin (his name has been changed to Jim; most likely not a native English speaker and any info leading to him has been removed)
This guy was pretty desperate to get Brutal Legend, since it seemed like he really, really wanted it. Though I suspected, that it was most likely for the TF2 items that came with it (mentioned the pre-purchase deadline, playtime on TF2 was at almost 700 hours, and was in TF2 whilst talking with me). The items seem to be the reason for Brutal Legend's skyrocket to the top sellers charts. The TF2outpost link he game me lead to a trade which went like this in general:
Selling games for extremely cheap!
King Arthur Complete Collection - 16 Keys / B.M.O.C. + 3 TF2 Keys.
Fibrilation (Desura) - 8 TF2 Keys
Galactic Civilization 1: Ultimate Edition - 7 TF2 keys
Demigod - 5 TF2 Keys
Hearts of Iron III - 6 TF2 Keys
Talisman Prologue - 8 TF2 Keys
All were Steam/Desura keys and available from the current Indiegala bundle and quite overpriced, if I do say so myself. (If you don't know the value of TF2 keys, they were about $1.3 in Paypal/"real" money and $2 in Steam Wallet/"game money".)
I tried to be civil and firmly say no, but it seemed he ignored my big paragraph on Line #77 of what I thought since he responded in about 9 seconds and continued on. Though the one thing I know now for sure, is that after Steam trading a lot as a hobby, I've become more of a dick. Also, no point to all the above, I just felt like sharing.
What this thread was really for:
(A giveaway should be incoming here once my Card gets unfrozen and I'll be finally be able to buy my Steam games, afford rent, and bulk ramen noodles once again. Also, dirty things.)
Also, since this needs to be a discussion type thread and not just spam, what do you guys think of TF2 items being added as incentives for pre-purchases? In fact, for any pre-purchase, what kind of incentives are even worth it at all? Should we just wait to buy things, so another disaster like Aliens: Colonial Marines doesn't happen again? (Had bought the game for 3 friends and just wanted to shoehorn A:CM in somehow so I could announce to the world that I'm still pissed off.)
