Nope, still quite cold in here. Here's a little hint for y'all: it's not an RPG, but this particular one has an RPG, and it had another RPG made for it roughly a decade before this one was released. One more wrong/incorrect answer and I'll post a second screenshot to it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nopers. This particular one is so freezing cold that it might as well be somewhere high in the mountains. Anyways, here you people have the 2-nd screenshot and also a slightly bigger hint: this game contains scenes of explicit violence and gore, yet it's NOT a "survival horror" (well, it kind-of is, but not in the sense of the genre), and it was released during the PS 2 era/time period (it's not a PS 2-exclusive title, however). I'll add a 3-rd image and more obvious/easier-to-guess hint if four next people won't be able to provide the correct answer. Also - good joke on it being any ME (especially with those graphics), lmao. I commend you for the legit funnies.
Comment has been collapsed.
I would have guessed King's Quest 8 but skybox and draw distance do not match with the screenshots, looking much worse in the actual game
Comment has been collapsed.
If only, but unfortunately (fortunately.....?) it ain't in the slightest bit. However, it's true that Fortnite has/had characters/character skins/models from this game franchise in it, as a crossover/colab content (then again, though - what does Fortnite not have yet?).
Comment has been collapsed.
I've said "franchise", not specifically this game exactly. This game is one of the many releases in a big/very well-known franchise.
Either way, it's not any of the Indiana Jones games. Anyhow, I'll be posting a third screenshot on it soon, once I'm online again.
Comment has been collapsed.
No. Once I'll reveal the game (which will be somewhat soon, it seems. There's no point to continue this more/further than four posted screenshots, really), y'all be ashamed of yourselves, because it's very highly likely that most of you played this game in mid-2000s.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ashamed? For what exactly? You think people here are some kind of game connoisseurs? Why are you acting like overly competitive on a simple and fun guessing game?
Even if I played it in the past -which I didn't- it's long time ago and quite normal for people to not remember. It's a fighting game, people fight and close the game. Not memorize the random details about it.
Comment has been collapsed.
The "ashamed" part was not meant to somehow downplay your gamer prowess, but rather to point out to the sheer fact that nearly every second-and-a-half person and-their-dog was playing MK Deception back in the days when it came out. It was third-popular fighting game in the mid-2000s, all across the globe, right after №1 that was Soul Calibur II and №2 that was Guilty Gear Reload (№1 spot, for one, was overtaken only after Tekken 5 came out on PS 2 in 2005). It was popular and very many people played it.
Comment has been collapsed.
For 90s, yes the fighting genre was quite popular. However in 2000s the fighting genre stepped into niche steppes. For fighting games community, it might be one of the most popular titles at that time, for general gaming community, not so much. There were games like Half Life 2, WoW, GTA San Andreas, MGS 3, Sims 2, Rome Total War.
All I know was Tekken 3 and King of Fighters, I also knew about Street Fighter but never liked it. My main interest is strategy titles, others are flavours next to it.

Brah, I've been in the scene since 1996 and became a sophisticated hardened tourney-level pro in 1998 (you can literally just look up my profile page on Steam and read it's "info" tab, to get majority of the picture). All of these things were experienced and witnessed by me personally firsthand, I saw with my own eyes how the game was garnering popularity and was played by both the casual and professional audiences alike, literally everywhere (home-fights, clubs and internet cafes which had TVs with consoles, arranged "money matches", tourneys and championships, gaming fests and anime parties, etc). When I say it's not/it wasn't just about FGC scene back then, then that's exactly how it is/was. If you don't trust my word on it, then you pretty much can't trust even yourself.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sure, guess that's that then. You "googled" it right. I knew I should've cut it better. Cheaters are weak, lame, and boring. Oh well.
Then again, if you actually genuinely recognized it and answered correctly only due to your own gaming experience, I kudos you.

"Deception" is indeed a well-known game from the PS2 era and it was also released for other platforms. It contains explicit violence and gore, and though it's primarily a fighting game, it does have a few elements that could be considered akin to "survival horror" with its dark themes and intense combat situations.
The part about a separate RPG mode refers to the "Konquest" mode, which plays like an action-adventure game with RPG elements. You control a character named Shujinko, exploring various realms, interacting with characters, and completing quests, which is quite a departure from the main game.
Lastly, Mortal Kombat had released an adventure spin-off game with RPG elements called "Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero" about a decade before "Deception", which could have been considered the earlier RPG entry in the series.
Your clues make perfect sense now in retrospect. Thank you for providing a fun mystery to solve!
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, duh. I never do it half-assed or with low effort. And I don't cheat. About the "survival horror" part, it was a literal description of the entirety of the franchise, as that's literally what's happening in MK. You experience "horrors", such as explicit violence/torture and gore, and you try to "survive" through the tournament/events. MK is a "survival horror" in a literal sense, not mere game genre.

Well, given that I mostly don't post/comment on this site other than just this thread and a couple types/kinds of giveaways for very specific games, it's sometimes getting somewhat boring to just sit there, so I do participation in this only when I feel like doing it.
Comment has been collapsed.
While not all of the rules are kept, it was originally "If there is no update from P1 within a 12 hour period, the first person to post a new screenshot becomes the new P1." Because of these two reasons people post updates themselves, instead of holding the topic hostage for a week's end. It's kind of familiar but I'm almost 100% sure I didn't play it, there is nothing in it I could google after, and openly throwing in obviously wrong answers just so we can maybe, finally move at least a step forward is not fun, and beneath the spirit of the game.
I guess it's a console game (looks like PS1 era?), but Asian-inspired building and treasure chest aside, there is nothing to go. Second picture looks a bit like Gothic, 1st one looks nowhere like that, and I don't get new information from checking the picture again and again... I'm as stuck as I was 4 days ago when you posted a second picture.
The goal of the game never was to NOT let people find a solution, and you're playing that game, against 4 years of posts / customs, and it's not fun even try to participate. I don't know if you noticed it, but you're the only one who actively hold up the game, to the joy of nobody.

...I've explicitly and clearly mentioned that I'll be posting 3-rd screenshot and more hints if four attempts won't be able to give correct answer. As in, just because someone's currently not online (I sure as hell am, most of the time), doesn't mean others should be void of having any opportunity to answer. So far, there was one attempt to answer before you made your post, after I added a 2-nd screenshot and more hints. Your answer is a second attempt out of four. It's wrong, however. This game ain't like Gothic at all. I've already mentioned a fact about it: it's NOT an RPG, but it does have "an RPG" in it. Here's a hint: it's "RPG" is a separate mode.
And as for screenshots themselves, out of the two which I've shown/posted thus far - I've deliberately posted images from the aforementioned "RPG" mode in the said game, as immediately posting any screenshots from the "main" game would've made people provide correct answer instantly, as it's way too easily recognizable even by people who didn't actually play it back in the days. The screenshots from it's "RPG" mode were specifically posted as anti-tineye and anti-"googling" measure, because that's not fun to do that and it's actually lame as all hell, so first and foremost it's aimed at people who might've actually played the game. I do it in a way which constitutes that people should utilize their experience and knowledge as gamers, not being "googling" cheaters.
I'll be adding shots from the "main" mode of this game as well, don't worry. But it won't be immediately, as it'll get easier gradually.

And people obviously don't want to play along, because you want to play your game, not this one on this forum. You stated your rules, but it's restrictive, unfun, and obviously doesn't work. Also, you're the only one who thinks they are more important than literally every single person who posted on this forum, and have to change the rules by either posting multiple games, or block the game if they don't get the attention they want.
But it won't be immediately, as it'll get easier gradually.

That sounds nice, and I'm sure everyone is glad that it can't be reverse searched, but we again reached the point of the first one is "first and foremost it's aimed at people who might've actually played the game", which is cool. Thee second one has a chest. As a peasant who didn't play the game, I can't go anywhere because I won't find the game because I can't search for "ps2 game, gore, treasure chest" and expect to find it without sinking hours of drone-work into it. So I don't try, because there is nothing to gain by spending energy on it.
You could literally post the hints to entice people into interacting with you, instead the last proper guess was 5 days ago, with a guess off Mass Effect 2 on a PS2 game. It wasn't a "legit funni". It was a last case effort to move this slog forward, as they literally stated in "I'll guess Mass Effect 2 just to keep things going" It can't be more clear.
No amount of verbal flourishes will cover that you try to make your performance as lavish and long-lasting as possible. Even if that leads the game to a screeching halt. Check how often people replied to others posts, and to yours. Every person who posted here in the past 2 weeks, including veterans, were active on the site in the past 2 hours. Yet two people commented in 6 days.
You act like a child on a playground who always makes up their new rules that only serve them, then are "' actually somewhat baffled that no one answered correctly yet". Or barely at all.
Have fun.

Holy hell, shut the f up. What an utterly lame and completely devoid-of-any-fun loser you are. It really feels like this entire "let's post screenshots from games and let people try recognizing them" was one massive mistake, just due to losers like you. FGSFDS. :\

Added the 3-rd screenshot. Here's another hint: the game was released in 2004 on PS 2 and X-Box, then a year later on another platform. It was also re-released for/on the PSP, in 2006. The third mentioned platform's release is officially the worst version of this game, out of all.

Haven't played it but I've seen it in a recent Austin Eruption video.
Looks cool and seems pretty innovative for a indie game released in 2013. I feel like FPS roguelike with immersive sim elements is a combination that could definitely be explored further. I would love to see another take on this with a higher budget.

It is actually from Fallout 76, but the area is called Nuka-World on Tour.
Guess they must have added as a call back to F4.
So I think that counts as a win.

No, but a good guess.
I'll give one last hint: In one of my earlier replies, I put a word in bold letters. That word is in the title of the game.

Looking back, I wish I hadn't picked it.
A few hours ago I realized that the game had only been released in NA (according to wikipedia), and if that's the case, it definitely wasn't a fair choice for this game . I'll have to be more careful with my next pick. :)

I don't know what this is, but is a real mix of texturing.
The tiles look nice and crisp, and the skull has a lot of surface detail.
Yet the urinal itself looks blurry and low res.
Makes it hard to date.

I should have specified Shadow of Chernobyl, but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the original 3 games.
This was just a guess based on the colour palate and industrial architecture.

Another screenshot is added and a hint: it's a Telltale-style adventure game

With all the hints I can't think of anything but The Descendant, although it's been 5 years since I've played it so maybe I'm mistaken.
Ed. Yeah, it should be it. 4th is from the very beginning, 1st is not too far. Don't really remember 3rd and 5th ones though.
Ed2. I pass just in case.

It is!!!!!!!! The screenshots actually go in chronological order :)
I liked my initial playthrough, but my second one, to get all achievements, was riddled with crashes and huge performance issues. I could've attributed it to me playing it on Steam Deck, but my initial playthrough was mostly fine and per my googling, many people do encounter same issues. Still, I'd probably recommend it to those who want to play something Telltale style :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Well the game usually goes for as low as -90% on sales and I think it is well worth this price
Comment has been collapsed.
See? My memory of that game is a complete mess :D
I remembered it as follow: female engineer suddenly waking up from cryostasis (4) going to her shift and in control room (1) discovering that the base is malfunctioned as hell and AI had to disable many of other crewmates' cryochambers to keep the whole complex operational.

Really intrigued to find out what type of game this is.
With that sort of comic art style would have totally pegged it as a point and click or Bullfrog type game.

I had Sensible Soccer and Cannon Fodder, don't think either of them had 3D cutscenes.
Thing I remember most about Sensible Software's style was the live action thing they did for the War never been so much fun song.

...I haven't played it for longer than a decade, so I don't remember details well anymore and I'm not 100% sure, but the style/design seem to match or at the very least being close to it, so I'll try anyway: Goblin's "Санитары Подземелий" (a.k.a. "Planet Alcatraz")?

Sheesh. I have it in my library, but obtained it relatively recently and haven't touched it yet due to having a massive backlog of yet-to-be-finished older titles, so no wonder I didn't recognize it right away since I know nothing of Sacred franchise other than, supposedly, it was created by Gothic's ex-devs in protest or something, and it was built to be like "anti-Gothic" or "Gothic, but with blackjack and whores" of sorts...or am I mistaking franchises altogether and it was Risen series (I've yet to tackle any of the Risen entries as well, despite them being in my possession for a while) that was meant to be "anti-Gothic"? It was long time ago, I don't remember details.
Comment has been collapsed.
Risen was made by Gothic devs, but I don't think that being a better Gothic was a selling point.
Sacred is a standard aRPG, like Diablo but less complex I guess. I replayed it recently and it was fun, but I felt the story and quests were really lacking, they all boiled down to "go there, kill/collect this, come back" with barely any lore.
Comment has been collapsed.
I can't say for Risen specifically, aside from just hearing/reading roughly a decade-or-so ago that Risen 2 had some flaws/issues on it's release date, though things were, supposedly, improved quite a bit in the following months/years (dunno anything about Risen or Risen 3, however), but, if I recall correctly, either Sacred 2, or Sacred "Gold" (remastered compilation of the two first games?), or both, actually got a lot of praise/good reviews and nowadays are cherished in high regard? Again, can't say anything about Sacred 3.
Comment has been collapsed.
Never played Risen so can't say.
Sacred Gold is the base game + expansion, never got a remaster. Same for Sacred 2 Gold. They were always okay games, but when Sacred 3 came out it was hot poop and a great disappointment, so many people started reminiscing their nostalgia for the originals.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah, right, just checked it in my library. it's not just "Sacred 2", but Sacred 2 Gold, indeed. Forgot about that. I thought that there was only one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR8aRNdSxHo) out there. Risen 3 is, supposedly, "bretty gud", according to "general consensus" on...4chins. Then again, they LOVE to eat absolute garbage and manure sometimes (as in - most of the time), so...eh.

Looks much cooler there than in the screenshots on the store page.

I have Hylics in my library, but haven't touched it yet, but I saw some of the screenshots from it on Steam, so I can only assume that it might be Hylics (or Hylics 2, perhaps?), due to it having style/design in very resembling lieu to the screenshots presented above.

What is a boogaloo?
The Electric Boogaloo is a dance style that became meme-ified to denote crazy sequels, as popularized by the 1984 film Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. While we are not break dance battling here, it is kind of like a screenshot battle and hence, the "screenshot boogaloo".
