Was also going to have random guess at Riven.
Syberia 2?

Played this exactly 7 years ago. Such a distinctive artwork style, it's difficult to forget!

By the way the next game from the same devs has also a similar style, Flipping Death!

One of my favorite games of all time, but that's not it. Added a new image!

...hmmm...these table sprites seem quite familiar and too specific...I'll just take a wild guess that it might be some Pokemon entry, but which exactly I can't say (to me, it seems like Diamond/Pearl, since that was the last one I've played for a long period of time).
P.S.
I'll also take a guess that it might be a Mother game, but I didn't play Mother 3 yet, so I can't say if it's Mother 3 specifically or not.

It's a fair guess based on the images, however this game is not part of a series or some franchise etc. Just added a new image!
P.S.
Since it's not part of a series, same applies for Mother/EarthBound

Bump! If no one gets it I'll add another picture soon :)

Nope, but that looks super nice - instantly added it to my plan to play list.
I'm not sure whether it is too soon for another picture, but I'll update with a hint for now :)

You haven't played Pier Solar? Just know in advance that there are several releases of it on different platforms, going as far back as self-published "modern retro" release (essentially homebrew) on Sega MegaDrive/Genesis, as a real cartridge, and also release on the Dreamcast (which was also the very first release of Pier Solar to begin with), and all of them differ quite a bit both graphically and by how they control/operate, so not all Pier Solar ports are equal. Besides, make sure you're getting the latest build of it, because, apparently (I've only read about it, never experienced it myself), one of the earliest versions of it, I don't remember on which platform exactly, but nonetheless, had a "game-breaking" bug in it which impeded progress at some point, it even forced devs to make a recall for RMA of those, refunding those who bought them and sending them new fixed copies. Digital one should be fine, I guess.

To be honest, I will probably play it with a friend (and knowing him, he'll investigate all of this in detail). I am rather curious, tho: do all of the versions have the same plot/story?
Comment has been collapsed.
The game is mostly same plot content-wise (though the PC port is technically the most fullest version, since it has an option to play both in MegaDrive/Genesis and Dreamcast/PC modes, so it's essentially two-games-in-one, it's like having original vanilla Lunar from Sega CD and Saturn's Lunar Silver Star Story/PSOne's Lunar Silver Star Story Complete in one single package...though this is not a completely fair comparison anymore since Lunar had more updates and an outright full remake since after PSOne's release, in the form of Silver Star Harmony, so there are now more than two distinctively different "first Lunar game" experiences, they're not exactly same at all, so it's required that all 3 should be played in the case if a person wants to experience first Lunar entry at it's fullest), it's just graphics, animations, music and gameplay elements/UI/difficulty balancing, some minor realigning of NPCs and objects on the field, what differ between the releases. It's only natural since, obviously, MegaDrive/Genesis can't output same graphics/animations/color palettes and quality of sound/music as Dreamcast or PC can, or having same storage/memory/video/CPU capacity to be able to run game smoother/faster and have better computations on enemy AI or damage values and etc., so battling balance differs too.
P.S.
And, IIRC (I might be wrong on this, since it was a while since the last time I've played it), due to limitations of MegaDrive's/Genesis' hardware they had to leave out some of the playable chars in that particular release, relegating to them the roles of mere "temporary CPU companion" or NPC/cutscene "talking head", so PC port technically has "more" playable chars and more dungeons/locations, items, or whatever. Again, I might be completely wrong on it, maybe MD/G release was updated as well, so don't take my word on it.

Nope, but those are in my play list too :)
I'll add another picture and another hint now.

DING DING DING!
I was getting worried about one of my childhood's favorite games being obscure~
Folder with the full pics!

I only got it with your hint and a bit of intuition.
I don't know how obscure it is, but the audience here are all PC gamers so night not be as many know it.

Steam Deck is a handheld "console". And before that, there were "Steam box machines", which were custom mini-builds of PCs that were marketed as a console (which didn't fly). And to put it even deeper into a perspective: each and every console IS a "mini-computer" (basically an equivalent of HTPC, of sorts) inside, purely on a technical aspect of it. They're all computing hardware.
Hell, Famicom is shortening moniker for "Family Computer". Then again, that wasn't the point of my response. Response was more about the fact that you shouldn't automatically assume things about people or put labels on them. I've been playing video games since 1987, I've started as a "PC gamer" (on several Japanese computers, no less. MSX 2, Sharp's X1 Turbo Z and NEC's "PC-98" UV11, for example) initially, but I've used "home consoles" (TV or handheld/pocket alike, regardless) to play games just as equally much throughout all these years, with my first ones being Sega's original Mark III, Atari's "VCS" 2600, Nintendon't Game & Watch.
I never participated in "platform wars", I was never a "brand loyalist" or "video game dev defender/apologist". I play games, period.

" you shouldn't automatically assume things about people or put labels on them."
And yet, you have done just that.
My initial response wasn't about exclusivity, or superiority, but commonality.
This is a Steam centric site, and steam is a PC based platform.
So there will probably be fewer people here who might recognise it than on a DS centric site.
Also only a fraction of the people who use the site use the forums, and only a small fraction of those view this specific thread.
Which means making judgement on obscurity due to lack of responses not that valid.

I'm not going to waste my time with trying to reason with you any further, as you clearly refuse to admit your mistake and you're resorting to arrogant stubbornness. Suit yourself, but don't bother me anymore. I won't be repeating that a second time over.

Booooo, was hoping for at least a few wrong guesses of Alien Breed, or Alien Rage.
You are correct, your turn.

Which is just a skin swap/edit of Puyo Puyo. I'm ashamed of myself, because I'm a big fan of Puyo Puyo franchise, but I didn't recognize the score table and other sprites. Then again, could you people really blame me for it (given the fact that MBM sucks in comparison to the untainted original, so I barely ever touched MBM back in the days, always preferring to play Puyo Puyo instead)?

I appreciate the honest approach.
Every shot I was taking was image matching super easy.
Is why the first 2 pics ended up being tighter crops, and less characterful than I would have liked.

Initially I thought about that one game where there is a guy in kigurumi suit with bunny ears on the game banner (but forgot its name, was it office-something?), but then I realized it's from Bad Dream series, not sure which one exactly. If I'm right then I pass my turn.
Ed. Found the 'office-something' game I was thinking about initially, The Office Quest

Yes, it was Bad Dream: Coma.

What is a boogaloo?
The Electric Boogaloo is a dance style that became meme-ified to denote crazy sequels, as popularized by the 1984 film Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. While we are not break dance battling here, it is kind of like a screenshot battle and hence, the "screenshot boogaloo".
