Alright, if you look at some of the earlier Assassin's Creed games on Amazon, they have some pretty good deals. The only problem is, there are only good deals if you order the physical copy, rather than buying Steam code. I know that some games will come with a code even when you order a physical copy. Does anyone know if that's true about these ones? If it comes with anything, I assume it will come with a UPlay code, rather than a Steam code, but that's better than nothing.

EDIT: After re-reading my post, I realized I did a pretty good job of wording my question in the shittiest, and most round about way possible. All I really want to know is if I buy a physical copy, am I going to be able to just link the game to my UPlay account and play it without inserting the CD?

Too bad the AC series has one good initial game and four CoD-syndrome releases that include one playable game. Fuck Jewbisoft.

I have no Idea what you talking about, I haven't played AC3, but AC2 and brotherhood were huge improvements over the previous installments. Or you say that because the game share the same concept? so you mean to tell me every game that has a sequel has a "CoD-syndrome"? :/

CoD-syndrome AKA sequel every year. And since AC gets a sequel almost every year, the overall quality of franchise suffers. Of course new installments are not that bad, but they still feel less "amazing" than old ones. That is truth for almost every franchise like that. It's not 90s anymore, when you could make games in one year cycle. It's a cheap way for popular franchises to earn easy money. Add almost nothing new to new game and it still sells.

They aren't actually less amazing, you just got used to the game's mechanics.

Getting used to it has not much to do with this.

IIRC someone from Rockstar once said they could make release new GTA once a year, but they don't do it. Because they don't want to make their most popular franchise become new CoD. They want to deliver something that will be an amazing experience. Just look at GTA5, looks like it will be a great game.

Let's just hope Ubi won't become new Activision or EA and we will not be getting new Watch Dogs title every year. It'd be nice if they took a 2-3 years break from AC after the new one comes out, everyone is getting bored of them. Of course there are blind fans who want that new installment of their favourite franchise every year.

The Ezio trilogy (besides the stupid tower defense part in Revelations) is really excellent. The first game suffers from monotony and IMO they ruined the Desmond storyline in the half-assed ACIII. I really enjoy II, Brotherhood, and I like Revelations outside of the tower defense crap. I remember being so excited for the first game and while a let down, I liked what they were going for. They made up for it with the Ezio stuff. Its a shame III was so bland, but I liked what they were trying for.

Oddly enough, I could care fucking less about Black Flag, but I will definitely be playing it.

I think I tried multi once. It was never that type of game for me and multi just seemed superfluous.

I've played the first one, and now I'm playing 3. I liked the first one a lot, and I'm really enjoying 3. I tried 2 when it came out, but I couldn't get into it. I never even touched Revelations or Brotherhood. Now I'm looking to give the entire trilogy another chance.

Only Revelations have that CoD Syndrome, the rest of the series is abolutely great and fun to play.

Love these ppl that compare AC with COD. Look at AC's world/story and look at COD's, look at AC's Multiplayer and look at Cod's

It obviously has nothing to do with the world/story. It's the gameplay and what-not. One aspect that has grown pretty big for the series after, er... Brotherhood, or something. Guns. In a game where you're an assassin. It's got CoD written all over it, because before the game where they had guns, the closest weapon they had to guns was the crossbow.

The jews suffered enough, there is no need to affiliate them with a horrible company like Ubisoft.

-Random Comment Incoming- If you got a Gold Xbox live account, you can get Assassin's Creed 2 free on Games on Demand. Around 5.2GBs I think. Free from now til August 1st.

I know, but I want to own the games on PC. Console gaming is just annoying to me. Especially because I have an older xbox, which I think is louder than the current ones. My xbox sounds like it's transforming into a jet to fly away.

the retail versions come with a uplay code.
but some games need uplay and steam.

i had the problem with call of juarez the cartel. both accounts are needed so i had to make a uplay account to get the game to run. only steam didnt work.

Joking aside, I'm not sure but I see only Brotherhood very cheap. Whole franchise is on sale right now on Steam for the next 8 hours, take a look.

You're right, not as good as a deal as I originally thought. Amazon always gets me with those "as low as $3.60" things, but they always have shipping. I've never learned my lesson with that. Doesn't matter now though, with themon sale through Steam. Are there any DLC's I should spent the few extra dollars on. I ddon't want to spend too much, but I'm not THAT tight on cash.

Individual games are cheaper than the pack, although it may be different depending on your region.

I already have 3 anyway, so buying the pack would be extra unnecessary.

they don't always have shipping. If you have prime most of the stuff is free shipping

I'm talking about the 3rd party sellers that sell things really cheap, then the price triples with shipping. Those all still have shipping, prime or not, correct? I don't have prime, so I don't really know.

A lot yes, though it all depends on the seller

Don't want to threadjack too bad, but if I picked up any given game in the series, would I be lost? Say I wanted to grab Brotherhood, which I understand is well done.

I picked up 3 after playing only the first one. The weird part about the series is there is kind of 2 stories going on at once. There is the one in present time and the one in the past, with the assassin. I was completely lost in current time, but I'm very interested in what is happening in the past. Though, unfortunately, the 75% sale on the series ended an hour ago.

Doesn't matter key or no key you will be able to play with no CD in, I bought AC 1 from wally word and it has no key and doesn't require cd to be in..

Well, it doesn't matter now, as I just bought them from Steam due to the recent flash sale. Just out of curiosity, how do you start it up without the CD? Since there isn't a code, does that mean it's DRM free, or do you still need to start it through UPlay?

AC 1 & 2 were registered once I think, in fact half the time you couldn't even add them to your uplay a/c

I like Steam more too, but the AC games need to be linked to UPlay, even if you buy them on Steam.
