My tastes have changed so much over time it's hard to pick a best. I had lots of fun with Starcraft when it first came out, and I still play the sequel now, so I guess that's my choice.

As it says on my steam profile, Life is Strange would have to be it for the awesome, moving and really thought-provoking storyline. Gone Home would have to get an honorable mention though and was it before I found LiS. Gameplay-wise, it'd probably be XCOM: Enemy Within, I really liked its turn-based-tactics mixed with higher-end strategy with some RPG elements thing. And here the HM would go to Crusader Kings 2 which is actually my most played game with 239 hours logged in. It's basically Game Of Thrones: The Game and the mechanics are brilliantly designed to naturally generate great storylines.

Yeah. I was thinking about that one the other day, but couldn't find a retailer selling it.

i definitely liked AoE2, but i think Age of Mythology edged in just above for me. Armies of Exigo is another i really liked. I also remember Kohan II being pretty fun - the bonuses your units get from staying in a city with active supply lines made the stratagising more fun.

To be honest, I think Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the best I've played so far

its hard to tell....
mmo: Everquest, because it was my first mmo, played it from like 2000-2005 and it was super awesome, after that all other mmo felt just like copy paste, i seen all mechanisms, tradeskills etc in Everquest allready.
strategy: civilization 1 because in early 90s there were not internet, were not many games available and i played this A LOT.
best emotional story: i am a man and i still cried on telltales walking dead, dont think ill ever see in my life such touching story again in any other video game with that, exceptional voice acting
best quests and entertaining story: SWTOR, well its and mmo but mmo's usually full with boring quests, swtor was different, that game worth alone for questing and leveling.
As i said its hard to tell, there are a lot of awesome games from all genre what could be on this list from europe universalis 4 to fallout new vegas, no way anyone could just announce one (or well, perhaps those whose playing only one and they dont touch any other)

For me its Devil May Cry 3 and 4 (didn
t played 1 and 2); Gothic 1 and 2, which I played for the first time 2 years ago and it was awesome experience (Gothic 3 good too, but I cant call it my favourite); all Naughty Dog games (except for Jak and Daxter, whick I missed for some reason), sooooooo loooove this developer since age 6-7; Borderlands series, but mostly Borderlands 2, which is musthave for everyone (in my opinion); Crysis 2, which have sooooo damn great soundtrack, I have maybe 10 tracks from this game in my playlist; Brothers - A tale of two sons, really good sad story, good music, great atmosphere (one of the games, that makes whole industry a part of art world); Darksiders 1 and 2, which developers has been critisized for ripping off parts of some other games (God of War for example) and for plagiary, but I personally think that they did this as it should be done, if you taking some elements from other games; Spec Ops - The Line.....you should play it; System Shock 1 and 2, played it both maybe 3 years ago, just masterpiece (don
t look at graphics, it doesnt important in this games); Bioshock 1 and Infinite with Burial at Sea DLC
s (Im ain
t fan of Bioshock 2), awesome complicated story, musthave for every gamer; Mass Effect Series....do I really must tell you how great this games????

I rather liked Sacred (1) for a diablo(II)-like. my usual go-to reply is Bastion. I loved the art direction in Remember Me, and i think it was the first game that made me question my actions in-game. Don't Nod's next game Life is Strange i totally love; even with figuring out some of the ending beforehand, it's a haunting ending that shows just how well-formed an real these characters seem.
