So recently, I have been considering growing my hair out long, and the length I am thinking about is 6+ inches. I am however, a guy. So, the question I am asking in the poll is: would you laugh at a guy with long hair? Anyway, thanks in advance for your response!

Sure why not. Some people look good with long hair. I don't. I found out the hard way, but hey, that's life.

I get my hair cut every couple years and donate it to wigs for kids, by the time I get it cut it's usually about 14-16 inches long. So no, really nothing wrong with guys having long hair.

My idol on the subject But really this was a problem 50 years ago not today. This reminds me of people who don't play handheld consoles in public for fear of being judged. Just do what makes you happy. If you realise you don't like it you can just cut it again. It's only hair.

I had a little bit longer hair a few years back, I don't think I'll ever have it that long, but just do it, you shouldn't care what other people think and tbh I don't think anyone would laugh at you.

Just try it! You should have your hair the way you like the most, worst case scenario you don't like it and cut it again :]

I would never laugh of course but in most cases I personally think that long hair doesn't fit guys.
In some cases it does look good though.

Why would you care if someone laughs at you? You laugh at their silly short-hairness instead. ;)
As a long-haired guy I have to say that you must carefully choose a haircut/hairstyle based on your hair density, thickness and waviness. What suits some won't necessarily suit you, so make sure to pick the right style for yourself. Might require some trial and error.
Also be prepared to take care of your hair much more than when they're short. Even some girls get tired of it and cut it short. So you have been warned.
Other than that, long hair ftw! Go for it, ignore the haters. :)

Depends on the shape of the man's head and face. Not all guys can pull off long hair.

I had chest/shoulder length hair for a while. Sometimes I liked it, sometimes I hated it. It was all straight and flat and boring. You know, the stereotype asian hair. I didn't have to style it much, as it was just fabulous all by itself, but the amount of time I had to spend shampooing and drying was incredible.

These days, I keep it short, but that has its own set of troubles too. As it doesn't curl or wave, and just keep growing out straight, it gets out of shape very rapidly, and my time now, instead of shampooing and drying, is spent on keeping it trimmed. >_<

I can't wait to go bald so I don't have to bother at all.

My hair already does that and looks like something died on top of my head. I think longhair will be beneficial in the long run.

Go for it!

If nothing else, it's at least an experience you can look back on. It's easy to abandon too if you do ever get tire of it. It's unlike other body modifications which are more permanent in nature.

My hair is over 1 metre long. You do what you want with yours.

That said, it is the biggest source of random insults from people on the street these days, with such classics as "Are you a boy or a girl?" and "You've got longer hair than my girlfriend!", each accompanied by derisive laughter with their group of friends. There was also one instance of an equally random compliment from an old lady, which only served to make me uncomfortable.

I see nothing wrong with a guy with long hair...I used to HAVE long hair, kinda, it reached down to between my shoulder blades anyway...I always swore I'd never cut it either, that was one reason I never enlisted or joined the police force...then mum went and got herself diagnosed with cancer so I shaved my head and went bald with her :)

I'd recommend you to try it out! Although a problem may be, if you are a vain guy, that it might look like you're not caring for your hair so you might consider that and try to actually take care of it. Another problem is that once you get halfway there, you really can't do much with your hair, which is kind of annoying.

Good luck!

If you know how to play electric guitar, drums or something...and are an ardent metal fan...maybe you could pass off as a metal musician :P a lot of them keep their hair long ;)

I don't think people would laugh at a guy just cause his hair is long.
Maybe if a bird poops on him, then maybe just maybe then and there.
