Some Points:

this is the beginning of the end of csgo if lounge will close down.

who will be watching the trash tier 3-4 teams if not people who bet on them?
A LOT of sponsors gonna pull out because drop in viewer numbers gonna be huge.
first pro players of tier3-4 teams gonna lose their salary and their job because of all above.
a lot of casters etc and people that work for companies around csgo gonna lose their job cause all that above.
i really dont believe that people know csgo would be nowhere close to how big it is now without csgolounge. if lounge closes people like sirscoots will realize that just the existence of csgolounge had a 100 times more positive influence than anything what he has done for the game.

I'm a semi-professional gambler (texas hold em), and I think this is a good thing. Underage gambling is dangerous and needs to be snuffed out.

as a semi-professional gambler, I'm sure your other concern is with fairness. some gambling sites got caught cheating, and there's nothing in place to ensure that there's a level playing field

Yes, true, but was this actually the case? Do you have any numbers or statistics about the prevalence of underage gambling? Because I don't think it is that straightforward, you still depend on bank accounts and credit cards etc. and there are already laws and regulation in place, you can't just go ahead with this as a minor. Personally, I have the feeling that this is just a useful scapegoat, to put the spotlight on the underage aspect. Just fear-mongering.

sure you can. Anyone can open a free steam account, and games/items can be purchased with steam wallet gift cards (e.g. as a birthday present).
There are also plenty of children with bank accounts and debit cards (I opened my own when I was 7)
not to mention parents allowing a child to use of their credit card from time to time

So yeah, it's easy for a minor to be betting on these unregulated gambling sites

My stepbrother lost hundreds gambling on csgo, so I'm glad he and other kids no longer can.

If your stepbrother is an adult, it is only his responsibility and he has no one else to blame.
If he's a minor, someone should have a talk with his parents.

Does Faze Clan own CSGO Wild ?
In this part 3 we look at skype and twitter chats between faze members and web designers. Faze members clearly state that Faze Banks and Faze Rain own csgowild.com
In part 2 of Faze Clan CSGO Wild Connection, we look at new evidence that connects the two business entities. The evidence suggests that Faze Clan are indeed the alleged owners of CSGOwild.com.
One of the owners of Faze: Faze Banks was the first one to order designs for his new site csgowild.com
We also saw PhantomL0rd owns csgo shuffle and he talks about csgo wild is owned by faze clan in the chat.

Reminder that individual people have made over $10 million USD each from these sites on average.

I don't really care for CS so it don't matter to me. I think you are wrong to say that CS:GO will die without Gambling. Counter-Strike has been around for a long time. It isn't gonna die anytime soon.

it won't die, but a lot of people will lose their jobs as professional players, because sponsors will cut team off when huge population drop hits.

I don't think the population drop will be as bad as you think, but yes, there will be a market contraction, and people will lose jobs. Happens in every industry. Overall, I think e-sports, as an industry, is growing, and this is merely a temporary hickup

Its gonna be a major blow to csgo in general.
But this gambling and betting bullshit had to end at some point.

I lost hundreds of euros on betting last 18 months. I stopped 14 days ago and this will help me overcoming an addiction.
Best news of the day.
(Edit: I did bet skins on fano and lounge and bought my skins on opskins.)

But this is the reality for all kinds of other sports. I think it's funny if CSGO / Valve can think they're above this all and create a double standard.

Will it hurt the lower tier CS GO tournaments/players? Yes, I'm sure it will. Honestly though, watching a lot of those teams play, I often feel like match-fixing or throws are sometimes a big issue there because more money can be made off a throw than on a win in those tournaments.

Am I glad Valve is shutting these sites down? Absolutely! I don't think kids should be gambling. Skins have a cash value. I used to gamble skins, and sell skins for cash, so I completely understand why people enjoy doing it. My concern is with kids developing poor decision making or possibly gambling addictions. I stopped betting skins, and now I just bet real money instead every once in a while. So, for those ADULTS who still want to bet on games, there are plenty of real money websites that you can still do that on (unless you live in the U.S. then online gambling is banned, and you're S.O.L.).

If it leads to unfair practices, addiction, targeting children and/or vulnerable people, then yes, I think it should be banned.
