Games on free weekends do that, nothing you can do about it but wait the ~2 weeks until it's out of your recently played games list.
As for manually filtering games you'll need Steamgifts Plus

blame Valve. As long as a game shows up in your library page or in your "recently played" history, the Steam API will tell steamgifts that you own the game.
As Mallorn already said, you have to re-sync your steamgifts profile once the game disappears both from your history and your library.

To remove Borderlands 2 you have to sync your account again, but sometimes it takes a while for steam to get it right... as for arma 2, you can either hope that it gets added by the sync or you could go for steamgifts plus (search topic in forum), which allows you to manually add stuff to our filters

I don't know where to ask this. The filter options says that I own borderlands 2, when I only played it because of the free weekend. And also, I doesn't filter ARMA 2, and I DO own that game! is there any way to fix this?
