it is too late for that sadly since there is no point in getting BTA tier now. People are just adding 2-3$ and getting tier 3.
Looking at the poll you can see people are either not interested at all and getting nothing or they want it all (tier 4).

I hate to be a douche bag, but too many old people are paying too much money for this old ass game bundle. I bet most of the people buying this won't even play these old games. I really wanted Timeshift, but am reluctant to spend this much on a humble bundle. Will just wait it out and decide later.

LOL, entitled much?
Buy it on a sale geez, it's less than 5€ on each bigger one. That way you save around 5€ and won't get to deal with the old ass part of the bundle -.-

I actually already have all the "old games for old people" on GOG.

I'm considering buying this bundle for the newish Sierra games like Shiftlings, Timeshift, Velocity, Geometry Wars 3, and the new King's Quest. See, from the perspective of an "old person" $20 for 5 high production value games isn't really all that much money... especially when one can remember saving up allowances and mowing lawns in order to buy Police Quest 2 in all its 16-color EGA glory for $50 back in the day.

To put it another way, let's imagine 15-20 years down the road, would you pay $20 for the following Bethesda nostalgia bundle?

  • Elder Scrolls Collection (1-5 + all DLC)
  • Fallout Collection (1-4 + all DLC)
  • Doom Collection
  • Quake Collection
  • Wolfenstein Collection
  • Dishonored Collection
  • Recently Released Elder Scrolls VII holodeck enhanced version
  • and a handful of other not yet released games that became cult favorites

Despite the complaints of the youngsters saying these oldschool non-VR games are pieces of crap that make their eyes bleed, I'm pretty sure you'd jump on that in a heartbeat, especially considering you will probably/hopefully have a steady income at that point.

I only feel like I want these games because some of the youtubers I watch love these games. But I'm not sure If I would play them myself. I didn't really grow up with these. The only Sierra game I have any nostalgia for is Rama. Still... At least tier 1 is tempting....

Greedy, pure & simple.

I would have purchased this at a much more reasonable price, not now though o_O

So yesterday I saw the Steam blog post about the new Sierra games on the store and immediately wishlisted nearly all of them.

Then tonight I saw this at launch but I was DM'ing a D&D campaign and didn't buy it immediately... The price kept going up and up during the evening and once I was home it was close to $12 so I decided to buy the $15 tier.

I can't recommend Quest for Glory enough; the perfect gateway to RPG's. They are such fun games and offer so much more freedom than the typical Sierra adventures (most of which I would also definitely recommend) made with the same engine. I've also kickstarted the spiritual succesor.

If I had money earlier, I would have loved the BTA for a couple of games, but not at current prices. Bleh.

Well fortunately I already owned Arcanum on gog, but I was dismayed to see the BTA is already $11.99. At least I can get Space Quest!

Considering I pirated most of those classics in my younger years, I'll probably get tier 3 just to kinda redeem myself.

This is a case of 'go all the way (for 20 USD) or none at all for me.

I'll funnel my money for Overwatch later, though. Nostalgia has its limit. =\

I've already got all the great classic games at GOG, but still interested in the $20 tier for the newer Sierra games I don't have yet (Shiftlings, Timeshift, Geometry Wars 3, Velocity 2x, the new King's Quest). It's a really fantastic bundle for us oldies or those interested in adventure games and the classics that don't have these yet. I do find it a bit odd that the Leisure Suit Larry series isn't included especially since M-rated Phantasmagoria is in there... but oh well. oh, I guess the Larry collection isn't available on Steam, which would probably account for it

Second bundle in a row with no additional games to be added in week 2--wonder if this is the new normal?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Maybe so, with new bundles each week it seems kind of redundant to have unlocks since people are going to be checking in every week anyways. It's probably better from a business perspective to just put all the games in at once and aim for the most sales and higher BTA at bundle launch now.
