What's your Beat the Average (BTA) price as of now? How come mine already $12.40 after only 19,500 sold......This also happen on the Capcom PlayStation Bundle.....Why my BTA price jump that high only after a few hours it start selling & only very low quantity sold.
When I bought the Humble 2K Bundle 2 & the recent Humble Indie Bundle 17, the BTA was still Low even after 100k sold.....

Reasons:

  1. The full price is $20, not $10 or $15
  2. Some people pay more than $20
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

  1. once the price for the BTA became quite high, the small increase to Tier 3 is absolutely worth it, so many people will buy that
  2. for those interested in these games, Tier 3 is a very good deal, and Tier 4 is not bad

The two games I actually want are on the $15 tier so no thanks I'll wait for a sale, I've seen them go for cheaper.
I might get tier 1 anyway for Shiftlings but I'm not sure.

Since I'm interested in Gabriel Knight since quite some time I'll definetely go for at least Tier 2...still considering to maybe do even 3.

Well I only wanted Geometry Wars 3 + Velocity 2X from the higher tiers, so I purchased them on G2A relatively cheaply and just saved myself from having to dish out well over twice the amount on Tier 2. Sometimes it makes more sense to cherry pick ツ

Well, I was looking around and found Geometry Wars 3 for $3.74 over here and acording to itad there's even a 5% off coupon. So I might go and buy it from there instead.
How much you payed for it on G2A, was it cheaper?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Here's what I got / paid...

Geometry Wars 3: $2.59 USD
Velocity 2X: $2.84 USD
Tier 1 HB (Shiftlings + Gibs): $1 USD

TOTAL: $6.43 USD

And I now have all the games I wanted from the bundle (already owned TimeShift).

could try the Steam Group Buys forum. There's not much there, but, if you're willing to organize it, you can offload any unwanted games at cost (rules of the group are that you can't profit, so e.g. the five Tier 1 games would cost $0.20 each)

Yeah, I know about Group Buys and usually use it but I haven't been able to catch a bundle split for Geometry Wars yet. But I'm trying, after all I should be able to get it a dollar or two cheaper that other places.

No thanks, I'm never the one organizing them. I appreciate the suggestion but I just don't wanna deal with it, I know myself and if I buy the bundle myself I'll probably end up keeping all the games instead of doing the split.

I don't believe that. I logged on at a few seconds after the bundle launched and it was already well above 6. I refreshed in a different browser every few seconds, and the price kept going up.

Anyone who says this bundle was available at $3 is lying

I don't think the BTA dropped from the starting $6 mark
it did dip briefly around the $8.50 mark, but then continued upward

Couldn't resist $1 for nostalgia's sake (although I was a LucasArts fan, not a Sierra one). Will probably resist the rest, although the $20 level is tempting.

This is great to see, though a bit pricey. Sierra games were my favorite as a kid. It would be nice to have others like The Black Cauldron, Mixed-Up Mother Goose, and the Laura Bow games get re-released as well.

Other than fan-made sequels and imitators like Quest for Infamy, are there modern adventure games like these? While things like the Telltale, Daedelic, Pendulo titles and Syberia, Broken Sword, Blackwell, etc. are quite entertaining in their own right, they feel more like interactive stories to me. With the Sierra games, I always felt like I was playing an adventure game, not watching adventure cutscenes, reading tons of linear adventure dialog, conducting adventure interviews, or solving Myst-like adventure puzzles.

I.... I actually got the $20 tier. There's a first time for anything I guess. I looked at the games I wanted and would've gotten if they were 75% off on Steam, and the combined price was quite a bit higher than $20, so here I am.

But slothy, the old ones are not working on steam. I cite from one review: "Great. Installed it and the colors are funky. Downloaded a patch and it no longer runs."
The new KQ is tempting, but i think the price for non-working old games is too high.

The ones I checked had reviews saying they work :o)

e - test launched few of them, got in game no problem. Which one is supposed to have messed up colors? Can't find that review.

Like, one review of Space Quest Collection says "It pains me to not be able to recommend this collection because the games themselves are fantastic. However, they simply do not work "out of the box." The launcher presents the player with a menu that allows him to select which game to play. Zero out of six of them will work. Zero. " I randomly tried two of those games - all worked, graphics, sound, everything, out of the box.

Can someone plz tell me whats all the hype on this bundle ? Like the only games I am interested in is Time Shift and King's Quest : The Complete Collection. Is it just cause of nostalgia? I never played these games when I was a Kid, so i don't know how good are these games.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Nostalgia basically, they're all great (yet very old) games. I probably wouldn't recommend the bundle to young people who never played these games (graphics and inputs are very crude) except for King's Quest: The Complete Collection.

definitively bought tier1 for shiftlings. i think it is the only that worth the price. almost all are old games that i got in retail dvd and without steam features. many of them as timeshift or caesar 3 and 4 was multilanguages as well and on steam they are english only. i was interested into the king quest collection but it don't worth 15 euro

Must be the most expensive tier 2 BTA I've ever seen !! Tier 1 for me, but definitely worth it for Tier 3 or 4 if you are interested and can afford the money (obviously that must be what 90%+ of buyers are thinking)

I will probably buy the Tier 4 bundle since King's Quest: The Complete Collection is my number one wishlisted game and hasn't often been discounted by this much before. I've also played a lot of these games in the past, so that's a nice additional bonus, though I don't intent to play them any time soon.

Too bad there's no King's Quest: Mask of Eternity on Steam.
