Fan boys crying over expectations. The game doesn't look that bad, and you can bet your ass there's a market for a mobile Diablo even if that market isn't the traditional Diablo fanbase. Yet, people are throwing a fit because it isn't the game they were hoping would be announced.

It's surprising that Bethesda didn't get the same treatment everytime they announced a new Skyrim release these past several years instead of Elder Scrolls 6 (which I know they said they were going to make some time in the future, not that anyone should've been surprised).

So by your logic, Blizzard should be like "Because you like this game of ours, we must forever make games that exclusively focus on you and your wants and needs, and forever forsake any other potential customer, platform or market." Did I get this right? Let's see... "You like Potatoes, so we will never, ever, make anything else but potatoes."

Think about it: There were 12 years between StarCraft 1 and 2, 13 years between Diable 2 and 3. OBVIOUSLY, a Diable 4 isn't going to be released for another decade. Did you honestly expect any differently?

It's not like they said they'd never make any new entry one day, or that they announced they were abandonning the PC market to exclusively make mobile games.

That's not the point. Thing is they did that on Blizzcon. If they did that on PAX or whatever they wouldn't receive the same backslash.

I have to agree that it was pretty dumb for Blizzard to market this mobile game to their core audience. Even worst is that that they don't understanding what they did wrong! So, you're 100% right on this.

However, the 395K people who downvoted the trailer weren't at Blizzcon. They're just people who are unhappy that Blizzard is releasing a new Diablo that is not for them. They wouldn't mind a port, but a new game? and it's not for them? How dared Blizzard do such a thing!

by my logic if you have an audience of 99% PC players... you can't make them pay an entry to a blizzcon to say that the game that all of them have been waiting it's for mobile phone with 0 things to port to PC.

do you see the logic???if not... then you have a serious problem.

talking about bussiness----> you have 10 millions or more of people asking for a diablo 4 or diablo 2 remastered, all of them will pay to you 120$ if necesary even on preorder of 50 years before the release, and you decide to make exactly the opposite for them.... a shit mobile phone with just some excellent cinematics and nice graphics with almost 100% chances to have microtransactions. (nice business??? if i was the director of the company the first i will do it's to fire up the idiot that decide to make a mobile game instead of what millions of people wanted.)

please is good to expand the business but don't use the name of DIABLO as a bait for make a mobile game, if you do this you see what happen with all the hate over that game (diablo inmortal....)

a game is more than just cinematics and some nice graphics, why do you think diablo 2 afrter alllllll this time.... there's still people transmiting and playing it??? what other game have this privileges being that old???? none, absolutely none. (and the game it's played by young people (20 years old) so isn't the same people that played 10 years ago, there's new blood playing it.

Another fucking mobile "RPG", they brought the microtransactions to the game yet?

It's being "co-developed" by NetEase (where "co-developed" means "slap a licensed Diablo skin onto another pre-existing mobile Diablo rip-off" based on what I've seen so far), and by all appearances targetted mostly at the Asian markets.

Pricing model's not announced yet, but I'm expecting this to be a free pay-to-win game right out of the gates.

well this diablo game it's the same as the thousand of that type games.... even darkness rises have better graphics.... (worse cinematics but better graphics)

mobile phone = microtransactions........ that's the truth and more with activision...... they don't even lower the prices more than 50% of COD games... even the first COD it's overprice always..... so this diablo will be a pure money grab for the fans.

Well, I can't afford one of the new "smart phones" costing over $1,000, and being that my current "smart phone" more than likely wouldn't be able to handle this game, I'll just stick to playing what Diablo I have. I dearly love this game. So those of you who have "smart phones" and feel that you'd like this mobile game, I say, go for it. Those of us who remain with our PCs and large monitor screens, will continue to enjoy the current Diablo. To each his own I always say.

Seems about right, though they're only disliking the video, I can imagine that they'll destroy the mobile game once it comes out.

Guessing people are mad that it isn't on PC?

I'll admit I'd rather have another game on PC but I'll give it a shot. Not expecting much though.

D3 was one step forward, 2 steps back.... compared to D2 for myself.

3 largest faults in my view:
No offline for the pc version (single or multiplayer)
Max 4 characters at once (they couldn't even TIE it @ 8)
Real money auction thingy (which they eventually got rid of)

Did the pc version ever get offline yet?

The console version was the better version, you had rolling and a rebalance so you didn't have to rely on the auction house.

It gets better. Apparently they were planning to announce Diablo 4 is in active development, but decided not to at the last moment:
https://kotaku.com/sources-blizzard-pulled-diablo-4-announcement-from-bli-1830232246

They could also have mentioned something about the Diablo animated series that's in the works.
https://www.dailystar.co.uk/tech/guides/731317/Diablo-Netflix-TV-show-CONFIRMED-Release-Date-News-for-R-Rated-show-from-Hellboy-writer

But no...
Just stick with the one project where you can most expect a massive baclkash.

Reaction from one of the Diablo steamers- Lord Fluffy. He asked if the Diablo game had a possibility of coming to PC, leading to the infamous Do you guys not have phones response.

Bad time to reveal a cell phone game.
