As retarded as it was for OP to give away his win (which will already be taken care of), doesn't this dood deserve some kind of reprimand for activating it? Sure it would have gone to whatever ninja who doesn't care about SG rules, but in this case it's this guy.

Possibly because there's never been a way to identify who it has been given to. Possibly because there was no way to prove intention of taking someone's won gift. Or possibly because it's not considered important. Hopefully a mod can shed some light on this. ^^

Chances are he didn't even know it was a regift before he activated it anyway. Pretty harsh to criticise him/her.
Comment has been collapsed.
Technically speaking, it wasn't a regift. A regift is defined on SG as the prize of one giveaway being used to seed another. There was no second giveaway, hence there is no regifting.
There is, however, the matter of the OP failing to activate a won gift, and that is indeed a violation of the SG rules and a reason for suspension.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's a bit worse than usual regifting we see, as the winner has clearly stated where the gift link comes from.

Potayto, potarto. He gave away something someone else had given him. I don't see what part of that isn't regifting, unless you believe that this guy's sole defining characteristic is making posts to elevate threads to the top of forum pages...

He was right, you were wrong?
Creators have 7 days to provide the game they made the GA for.

I've waited. His/Her profile says "write a message to his/her profile". I did that. Three times. All of them gets deleted in moments. But someone says "thank you for the game" it stays. I know how long it may take to receive a game. But I do not tolerate to be treated like this.
Comment has been collapsed.
His profile also says: "Don't add me if you won my giveaway. I will send your win to email!"
So instead of waiting patiently like most people, you decide to ignore his message, send multiple friend requests and profile posts?
Edit: did you read the comments on his profile? He states that he's been having trouble connecting to SG.
Comment has been collapsed.
Most likely you just do not know what to when every day you knock the incentive unknown people and offer unfair exchanges. After a month I decided to ignore the answers all. And add only those who can read notes on shopping sites and send messages through them.

Sound like you were being the rude one here. I wouldn't want my winner constantly pestering me, especially if I were gone for a couple of days for example. I would have done exactly as the giveaway maker did in that case.
Also, you are kind of screwed if you don't activate that game in your account. Good luck. Since it's from the humble bundle, it might be in your best interest just to buy the bundle and activate the game ASAP

@Edokan: You're completely wrong on every point you've made in this thread and you're also a complete dick...
Enjoy your spot on every user on this site's blacklist... You've gone above and beyond earning it just by your actions regarding the giveaway this thread is about and this thread specifically.
I also can't see a way you won't be suspended because of your actions either... If you didn't want to be a member of this site you could have just logged out and never returned... You didn't have to be a complete douche bag before you left. o_O

I'm not sure who's at fault now at this, he may be rude but he still gave away the game through a HB link, you should've activated it yourself. If you didn't want it, then tell him to re-roll and do not giveaway the link to anyone else.
2 cases now:
Case 1: mark the game as received
You don't have the game activated on your acct
Case 2: you mark the game as not received
well you did receive it so it's your fault for giving it away in forums.
Comment has been collapsed.
Marking received means you received and activated on your account.
Comment has been collapsed.
OH ALSO if that indeed was the game he/she gave to you, you may have a suspension coming your way.

The rules here are simple, you must activate all your wins on your registered account.

Learn patience sometime. A random stranger is giving you a free game, least you could do is wait for it, instead you were off pestering him. SG rules aside, he is under no obligation to give you a free game, and you are not entitled to get a game from him either. You are the one rude here. Too bad he can't re-roll in this situation, I certainly would if I could.
Comment has been collapsed.
Judging by his Steamgifts profile, he has maintained a 100% gifting record for over $4600 of games. So there was nothing to worry about or be impatient about, just wait for a week. As for him not replying, maybe he was busy or does not like people adding him, and you pestering him just made him annoyed.
He did give you the gift didn't he (although you gave it away)? So why hate someone for holding his end of his promise?
Comment has been collapsed.
He wrote in his profile that he was having problems connecting to SG and also wrote not to add him, he will provide gift though email. But OP conveniently ignored all that and kept pestering him. Even after he read and deleted the OPs comment, he kept on posting comments not getting the hint. I'm not surprised the creator got annoyed.

Did you honestly harass him for 4 days and then make a forum thread calling him "rude"..? o_O
He is one of the coolest users this site, and Steam for that matter, has ever seen. He's also one of the most generous users, who isn't involved in developer giveaways, that I've ever had the privilege of knowing.
What fantasy land do you live in?!? I really hope that I never end up in this fantasy land...
Comment has been collapsed.
Unless giveaway creator asks you directly to contact him first, you just wait 7 days.
Sorry, but if someone was rude, it was you. You didn't bother to read his profile, and kept harassing him for four days after he ignored yours first contact attempt. Given that i see his mail as very polite.
Oh, and not activating and regifting are against rules
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm astounded.
After you were so patient and courteous, too?
It's not polite to make the winner wait a second over fifteen minutes, and anyone rude enough to attempt to flip you off in such a manner fully deserves both barrels. Glad you schooled them in politeness, decorum, and all-round decency. You're a credit to Steamgifts.

He was slow or lazy, he may have reasons. You was the rude, you should patiently wait. And you must activate. All this thread and your tone demonstrate that you are the rude, and also you have any respect to the gifter, whom really gift the game. Respect people and site rules or go back to your cave.

I had someone pull this crap on me at TF2r. I won a raffle there and added the guy. I posted 2 messages in chat ("hello" and "are you there?") followed by a 3rd and final message politely saying I was going to remove him soon and move on since I was not getting any replies. All three messages were spaced out over the timespan of an hour. Immediately after the third message, the guy started copping a major attitude, to which I politely replied that I no longer wanted the winnings and I promptly removed him.
I wish that was where the story ended.
Anyway, if someone is an asshole and is trying to paint you as the bad guy when you've done nothing wrong, not only is it be extremely rude, but it is very frustrating and off putting. It makes you feel helpless and bullied, and after being treated that way you will definitely not want anything from that person.
I sympathise with the OP and I am disheartened to see people posting here throwing further abuse your way. You probably don't deserve it. It does unfortunately seem as though you may have broken the rules by passing the game along to someone else, though.
Comment has been collapsed.
Trying to contact the giveaway creator and being repeatedly ignored and having your messages deleted over a period of 4 days makes you the bad guy? Got it.
I mean it's not like the creator of the giveaway could have taken a few moments to fullfill their simple obligation instead of clicking the ignore or delete buttons and getting off on being smug/preachy while holding it over the winner's head.

Congrats on earning yourself a spot right below Edokan on pretty much everyone's blacklists... >_>

What an awful and spiteful thing to say to someone who's done nothing wrong. Well you can bet that If I see your name I won't bother entering any of your giveaways. I don't want anything from someone like you.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah just trying to say that there's no point in him blacklisting me because I wouldn't want anything from him at this point anyway.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nothing awful or spiteful about what I said...
You're endorcing the actions of Edokan when he's clearly harassed a user who was generous enough to give things away on a site with specific rules, one of which is that the creator of a giveaway has 7 days to send a gift to a giveaway winner.
Also, don't worry about remembering my name, I'll remember yours if I ever see it as the winner of one of my giveaways and be sure to request a reroll.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah lock me up for trying to see someone else's side of something, and even though I may have been in the wrong due to having an incomplete picture of the situation, clearly I was able to show more compassion than you are capable of since you are apparently comfortable with condemning and vilifying somebody for having a different take/opinion/assessment of something than you and voicing it.
You're coming of as a pretty awful guy from where I sit. So yeah, nothing more to say. I don't care to win anything from you anyway so you go right ahead. Not like I would've anyway, odds being what they are. And I'll be sure to avoid entering anything of yours to save us both the trouble.
Comment has been collapsed.
In this case yes. The giveaway creator has 7 days to send a gift. If you go to the user's profile you can clearly read."Don't add me if you won my giveaway. I will send your win to email" adn "I can't load SG! I will send when i can :)", the giveaway creator has made 686 giveaways and all have been received. There was no reason to get suspicious of the giveway nor to wanting the game as soon as the giveaway ended. You are getting a free game the most you can do is wait. On my case I have only contacted a giveaway creator ONCE and it was because he only had a couple of hours left to send the gifts. If he had waited till like the 6th day I might agree with the op to a certain extend but the ammount of messages he sent in a 'short' ammount of time removes all reason from him.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, okay I see. Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't realize that this information was plastered all over the guy's profile. I didn't see that anywhere.
Yeah I've never done so either. I just assume people will handle thing by email unless otherwise stated.
Comment has been collapsed.
Where was I supposed to see the giveway creator's profile? I still don't see it.
edit: okay I found it by clicking the OP's profile and going to their won giveaways, then looking at the creator of the top one. Obviously I had to go out of my way to do that. So cut me a little slack please.
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah i just realized this and edited my post above

It doesn't matter, if it is on his profile or not. It's the gifter who contacts the winner when he has time/means to do that, not when it's convinient for the winner.
It's a generous person giving free stuff, not customer support in a retail store. He has no obligation to respond to any requests from some random steam user. And i bet he gets a lot random adds every day.
The site does not have PMs and discloses email address only to the gifter to avoid situations like this (among other reasons).

You are spoiled little brat who isn't even grateful for winning something FOR FREE in his life. I am completely with creator of that giveaway.

Hi,
I've won a giveaway, and giveaway creator completely shut me down for four days. Did not reply to my messages, and friend requests, and constantly deleted my profile posts which is his/her preffered way of communicating. After four days he/she sent me an email telling me to "learn to wait" and "that's not my job to send your win as soon as it ends. there's a week for it ;)".
Actually I was waiting to open a support ticket to show how my posts are deleted and I'm completely ignored. It is not polite to treat people this way.
As a result, he/she earned to be the very first entry in my blacklist. And I will not accept his/her giveaway.
The link he/she posted is below, may the fastest ninja redeem it.
Clicky!
