Is it just me?

Its in portuguese but it basically says:

This website has malicious software.

The hackers who are at www.Steamgifts.com can try to install malicious software in your computer, which steals and deletes information. (for exemple, photos, passwords, bla bla)

Srly guys, stop trying to hack all the Bad Rats keys ! >:(

cg's comment on this:

Google flagged a cat photo on our forum as suspicious. It was attached to a user's comment in April 2015. The offending comment has been removed, so the issue should resolve itself shortly. Crisis averted.

I dumped Chrome very quickly because of its absurdly overzealous security. I used it to download some freeware games (which were perfectly clean) from their authors' websites then later discovered that Chrome had quietly deleted all of them as soon as they had downloaded because, according to the log, they were not popularly downloaded files and were thus assumed to be malware.

Potentially risky workaround:

Settings -> search for "protect" -> Uncheck "Protect you and your device from dangerous sites"

No guarantee whatsoever that your computer won't catch fire or something, but this is what I did, and so far so good.

For Firefox I recommend the following article:
http://www.ghacks.net/2014/07/25/firefox-cut-tie-remove-things-google-browser/
Section 2 in particular.

It was probably a case of a site linked long ago being compromised just recently, like stlpaul said.
