I don't think Steam has a checkbox for Tax Exemption status, does it? :X

If you have a SSN (and you should), enter it and see what happens.
Worst case, you won't be able to sell items on the market til next year.

You either give them what they want or you can not sell anything on the market until a year has passed it is as simple as that.

This is a U.S. law though so if you are not in U.S you can be excluded from it.Though since you did falsify your birth year that might not match up with your SS # so that may throw up a red flag.

Also you have sold 200 or more items as that is what triggers it.Or 20,000 in sales though i doubt you sold 20 grand of stuff i doubt anyone has actually hit that or if they have a very slim few.

Currently there is no limit on the number of transactions you can participate in. However, the United States Internal Revenue Service, under Section 6050W of the Internal Revenue Code, requires us to collect certain information from you if you engage in more than 200 separate sales transactions in a calendar year. In particular, if you are a U.S. citizen or resident, you will need to provide us with your name, address and Social Security Number, and if you are not a U.S. citizen or resident, you will need to provide evidence of your non-U.S. status on an online form we provide to you. We will be providing a link to these forms and a process by which you can provide the needed information if and as you approach the 200 sales limit. We may use a third-party to collect this information. You can choose not to provide this information if you wish, but you will not be able to list any items for sale in the Community Market once you meet the 200 sales threshold, and any items listed will be removed. Note that, while we are required to collect this information from you, we are not required to share this information with the IRS under Section 6050W unless you exceed $20,000 in gross sales in the Community Market within a single calendar yea

yeah, but, then you can demand a full refund - sales to a minor are voidable by the minor (as long as it wasn't approved by a legal guardian). might need a lawyer to draft a letter, though

more likely than not, if you contact steam support and explain the situation, they'll just adjust your account. (can you change your DOB on your account without notifying valve? If so, I'd do that)
