LoL or Dota2

League of legends is fun (1700 Elo atm after about 2 years), but also try Smite (its a new MOBA that's pretty awesome).

I played yesterday. I was like THAFUQ when I saw barracks respawn. Also free tp's back to base? Towers in 5 hits down on the 15 mins mark? You got to be kidding me. It's fun with friends I guess, but Dota is the real deal if you're looking for something more challenging.

From my view have LoL better feeling of control, dota have just mess sometimes (mainly for beegineers).
LoL is good if you have many friends to play with, but they will want to see you fast to be lvl 30 with glyphs, marks etc. DotA have system of weapons to equip before battle, second TF2 and system which I dont see properly into.
After spending some time in both games, I rather joined clan in WoT and with them joined clan wars on world map. Something up to 15 minutes sounds for me better than one game per hour or more.

Though if Dota 2 and LoL were your only options... I'd have to give the nod to Dota 2- if only because its more varied than LoL meta-wise right now.

None. And don't even try getting into MOBAs. Trust me, you will end up hating your life.

Dota 2 is going to be full of the elitists that were so into Dota they refuse to go learn a different game, League's just full of the regular trash talkers, so do you want to be with the ones that think they're entitled to hate, or just the regular haters? I personally prefer League, I don't need to play a game that I used to play back in college just because it got re-textured.

But if you never played the original Dota, both are going to be new to you, so go for either. Dota 2 does have the Steam Trading stuff going for it though.

Seeing what you wrote, you already know the pros and cons of both games, and already play both, so i don't see what your point is with the question. You could always just play both.

HoN plays best actually. But since Dota 2 is the only one with real future, it's the only real choice. LoL doesn't deserve a mention, it's a casualized version of Dota with low paced gameplay and stale metagame. A competent Dota2/HoN player will invariably become a machine of destruction very fast when playing LoL.

LoL if you want Casual fun and Dota if you want to be compettive.

well on a serious note. both have its goods and bads. dota isnt as noob frendly as LoL is. dota doesnt really have any "op" champs as every champ is basically op. id say LoL has a lot more builds disregarding the meta. but it really is up to ur taste. as for the ppl that say lol has the worst community ever, r u new to the internet? every community has a bad side, LoL just has a bigger community, thus the "bad" is bigger. also the average age for LoL is prlly lower, so u can expect more 12 yr olds, in body, mind or both.

i just play LoL like a month, dont like his pixel graphics even at max. And dont like the way they add a new heroe every 3 days xD

Dota 2 is less awful.

I play both games. And a good chuck of games for both but I prefer dota 2 over LoL. Reason, Lol doesn't challenge me at all anymore ( I am a bad player on both games, and I stress on fundamentals over mastery, I do not have good reaction or am I clutch, so I try to make the fundamentals my main focus of my gameplay). However I do play LoL still, when a friend wants to invite me to play. And my time does seem split over the two games. Don't care if you hate on one game over another, people will play what they want.

You want a well made game with a bigger community and a lot of new stuff designeds by users themselves and good support? Go for Dota 2. You want a buggy game, a community of kids, filled with trolls, noobs, leavers and bad noob players overall, a bad support system and the company shitting on their users? Pick LoL

I played LoL for a year and a half, and while it is a fun game, it seems impossible to fully enjoy it due to the community being awful as hell

Both arent bad games and I play both at them at this point, but I can say that dota2 is the better game. I'm not saying that LoL is bad but after playing Dota 2 LoL just feels too simple.

League of Legends is much easier than Dota so i would suggest league if you are starting out.
