Here is a paste from PCPartPicker (Which is useful)
Would love to get another 4-8gb ram also! :D Maybe upgrade to i7 when hyper threading in games is a must (Fallout 4 is taking this route)

Took a lot of saving! It is my first ever PC so I wanted to get a good one for what I could get realistically :3

The MSI is a must! I did some research and it seems like the best choice :D Exactly, you'll need it for when you win Fallout 4 ;)

Its MSI, thats why ;) I read this article about it, I'll try to find it if I can!
NO YOU WILL WIN IT <3

Unfortunately, AMD and Nvidia currently does not fully support DirectX 12. Nvidia, however is missing a major (crucial, even) feature in asynchronous compute. Basically, games used to load one thing at a time - models first, textures next, then lighting, and shadows last, and etc. Asynchronous compute makes it so that it's loading as much as possible at the same time. Like, once models load, lighting and textures load simulatenously, then load shadows. Nvidia not supporting async compute means that it'll still pretty much loading like older games. Also, I'm not sure if this is something that can be fixed with drivers, as it's an architecture issue.
So for this time, at least if I'm building a PC, I'm going with an AMD card. Sapphire seems to be a good brand for AMD GPUs. Asus and MSI also seems to be highly rated, but I have admittedly less knowledge when it comes to AMD GPUs having owned Nvidia for my whole life.
My personal solution though is to wait next year when hopefully both AMD and Nvidia fully support DirectX12 and see where it goes from there. Hopefully my rig can still handle Fallout 4. Haha
Comment has been collapsed.
Same. This was supposed to be the year I was really building my PC and my parts list was basically picked out months ahead and I have saved up a lot for it. But then all the disappointment happened. I would have still gone with buying a new rig this year with AMD GPU, but Skylake was pretty underwhelming as well. Hopefully Kaby lake will be much better too.

I did have Asus parts but I ran into other problems and so MSI was the best second choice! I think Crucial was the best deal at the time so meh! Thank you though :3

Don't use them anyway! I was pushing budget as it was and I had the astros so I was over the moon! :D

Hey man, just checked out your profile to see your specs of your PC and it is a beast. But I was just curious and wanted to know that out of the nearly 2000 games you own, why are you hooked on to gems of war? It has been a year since I came to PC gaming and I am trying to figure out what makes these games special.
Comment has been collapsed.
LOL. I'm hooked on Gems of War because I have issues.
Have you ever heard of Playfire Rewards? It's still around, sort of, but soon they're going to either revamp it or kill it. They gave store credit (at GreenManGaming.com) for earning achievements, and when GoW was new, they offered a small reward for earning a specific achievement. Around that time, I was becoming more self-conscious about starting games and not earning all the achievements. I hate the F2P model, and I didn't want to start earning achievements in a F2P game unless I was going to go all the way, but I also didn't want to put any money into the game. So I challenged myself to earn all the achievements without spending any money.
About 250 hours in, I finally succeeded in getting them all... and then for some reason I decided that that wasn't good enough.
GoW is one of those games that's simple to play, but offers variety in how to play. It also rewards you for everything (though they made a big change very recently that affects this reward system). The more you do, the more you are rewarded. In a sense, the more you fill bars, the more you fill other bars. Log in every day to keep a steady stream. I think that's the big key to keeping me hooked: even when I get the idea to play something else, I don't "have to" because I don't lose anything by not playing it. In Gems of War, I have to at least log in every day, and at the beginning of each week the PVP gets reset, so I have to build up my rank all over again.
The game is evil, and I'm an idiot.

some of those parts seem way to cheap eg case, ODD are like a 10th of what i paid =P
Comment has been collapsed.
Yup. Some of it is a bit artificial and i was very patient in waiting for parts to go on sale.
I bought a bundle from Tiger Direct. It was a case, three case fans and a power supply. I ebay'd the power supply and after all was said and done for the rebate and ebay profit, the case was dirt cheap.
The drive I just caught a really good deal on from a third party seller on Amazon. I'll let you know if it keeps working...it's still a relatively new build (only about three months), but so far, so good.

still pretty good, haven tried any CPU intensive games really, latest game i tried on it was GTA V, i can play it 1440p with High/Very High and get around 40 fps, if i lower it to 1080p i get 50-60 easy.
i guess the most CPU intensive thing i tried is PCSX2 the PS2 emulator, and can run it almost without problems, i get some fps drops here and there but completly playable, beated Shadow of the Colossus with it, and Gran Turismo 4 runs at 60 locked.

umm Logi is alright for the price, some store had 20% of their stuff so got keyboard, mouse & headset together & speakers i got as a "free" gift with my pc (speakers are pretty shit thou), be interesting if I go for other brands next time, would want a mechanical keyboard but still rather dare. really want to get better speaker setup with something like KRK Rokit 5 G3 but idk
Comment has been collapsed.
Call me old school but I still prefer regular keyboards, mechanical keyboards are borderline typewriters :). I haven't used speakers in years, guess I got used to headphones so I don't bother anyone, I don't know much about PC speaker brands these days.

I feel like I'm not playing this game right...
So yeah....this thing is like 5 or 6 years old. The on board ATI Radeon HD 3300 wasn't cutting it anymore so I picked up that GeForce for $14 on clearance. I really need to upgrade...but at this point the only thing I'd keep is the HD as a storage drive. Everything I've played has run just fine, although it's safe to say Arkham Knight won't run on this...or most anyone else's rimshot (pretend I made that joke a month ago). Since nothing new coming out interests me I won't have to upgrade until the Arkham Knight "Game of the Year (featuring Batman and titled Arkham Knight)" Edition is released.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nah, I think I'll keep the card I have :P
When I built that one I needed something quick and had zero time for video games. When I picked up that "upgrade" I didn't have much time either. Now that I have more time it'd be a waste to put anything new in this thing, so my next card will be something good. Like when I got my TNT 2 Ultra...that thing was nuts, 32MB of memory?! Playing games at 1024?! What's next? Hoverboards?!
