List your games that you've put hours of gameplay but still couldn't finish it after weeks or months since start because how boring it was.

Here's mine:

Deus Ex Human revolution - boring storyline and setting, gameplay is too repetitive.EDIT: I finished it :D

Just Cause 2 - bad storyline, bad driving engine

Darksiders - just boring

Final Fantasy VII - stuck at Chocobo Quest

Super Hexagon - It's too damn hard! EDIT: Finished it recently :D

Do games like Crusader Kings count? because I'm pretty sure I've never come close to finishing that shit (came close... not chronologically, but I ruled most of the world)

Super Mustache - Decent retro platform game. I've beaten 4 levels but I don't know if I'll play it anymore, doesn't seem that interesting. You just collect coins, destroy enemies and omit traps plus you have to get a key in each level to open the exit doors. Not bad but not great either.

Bob Was Hungry - Pretty good and hard platform game. I don't know if I'll ever finish it but it's nice to play it for a few minutes every now and then. Good for people who like challenges.

Iron Snout - Free game in which you just fight enemies using directional arrows. It's pretty fun to play for a few minutes every now and then.

Green Moon - Bad adventure game with hidden object elements (I think?). Gameplay is horrible (you can collect as many items as you want and there's limited space in inventory so it's all tideous as hell), interface is annoying and tideous, music almost doesn't exist, there's no voice acting, graphics are bad, shall I go on? Nothing encouraged me to keep on playing and I'm not very picky and I can enjoy mediocre games. Too bad this one's not even mediocre, it's just bad.

I tried the first Assassin's Creed, I always prefer to start a series at the beginning even if it's old, but the lack of subtitles (there was a muffled conversation to eavesdrop on through a vent, couldn't understand a single word) and a few bugs put me off and the game hadn't really managed to draw me in so I gave up on it

I love portal, but I can understand. It's kind of boring at the beginning (way too easy), but you really have to stick out to the later levels to really enjoy it. Edit: Portal 2 is awesome from start to finish though.

I think they mean the game makes them physically sick (like motion sickness).

Oh, I had not considered that was even possible :O though I guess it makes sense. My bad, if that's the case. It sucks that you have to miss out on these awesome games.

I finished Portal 1 out of love and sheer willpower. It helped that it took only 5 hours (so that's maybe ~15 20 minute sessions). I wished there was a 3rd person viewing option.

What is wrong with you? Literally, should I call you an ambulance? I'm very concerned about you. How can you not like Portal 2? (I'm kidding, don't take it too seriously) That is one of my all time favorite games :O

T.T It sucks cause I do love it very much. But I think it's the first-person pov that messes with my inner-ear-balance or some voodoo stuff. Makes me nauseous. I finished portal 1 though! I'm halfway through portal 2. I can only play the game in 15-20 minute intervals before I feel like a pregnant woman. Portal 2 seems to be much longer. It's taking me a while (10 hours) spread out over a few weeks. Steam says I last played it in February. I might pick it up again soon.

I didn't realize they made you physically ill, that's pretty horrible. Portal 2 is substantially bigger than Portal 1 yeah, I'd say around 3 times bigger? So around 20ish hours? I can understand that you wouldn't want to play it if it makes you feel that bad. Maybe you can watch someone else play it on youtube and you won't get sick? I feel bad for calling you out on it now :O please accept my humble apologies.

Oh! It's no problem at all! Don't feel bad. You were nice throughout the whole conversation. :) I was surprised at how my brain reacted to it too. I have pretty bad motion sickness so I think that affects it too. It's actually slightly better if I play it instead of watching someone else play it.

I love the story though! Someone ruined parts of portal 2 for me, about glados being a person and I'm excited to get to her story in the game. I've been carefully avoiding all spoilers so that kinda sucks. Hearing spoilers usually make me ragequit games immediately. Still, the game's in my library and I'm keen on picking it up again. XD Thanks for reminding me it's worth it.

Anyways, hope you have a wonderful day~

Thank you for being so graceful. I'm happy my brain doesn't react that way. Oh, I didn't realize that, though I get carsick and I've been told it get's better if you drive yourself, so that makes sense.

It is my second favorite game of all times, I just love the humor and the story. There's a bit more to it than that really, and it's not that big of a part of the story really. I have to agree, I absolutely hate spoilers too, they really ruin a nice experience. If you can stand to play it, it's definitely worth to pick it back up again. I hope you have an enjoyable time and have a nice day as well ;)

Giana's Sisters, Twisted Dreams
I think it's a deeply flawed game, or at least it was when I played it. Bad controls, non existent saving system.

I had trouble finishing (but I finished) Spec Ops: The Line, but that was my fault for choosing the hardest difficulty. A couple sequences were so hard and frustrating that I ended up taking long breaks from the game, twice.
The story was ok, I didn't find it as compelling as most people though.

Giana Sisters has great controls if you play with Xbox Controller. Try it. I imagine playing it with keyboard must suck though.

I did play it with the controller.

Also the saving system was troublesome for me, a game that can make you waste 30 minutes without saving is not worth it for me personally :-s

But thanks for the advice! :)

Super Hexagon is one of them. I simply don't possess enough virtual reflex and muscle memory for that.

Currently stuck on Metro Last Light. But instead of my capability problem, this is because I'm too lazy and playing too many VNs recently.

Haunt the House. Cute at first, but repetitive and irritating to try to get all the achievements.

Limbo. I hated it so much I removed it from my account. Having to die multiple times to figure out the "puzzle" isn't a game mechanic. It's laziness.

Yes, it took ages to download. :P I liked it in the start. It was something different. But when you have to do the same thing over and over again, while trying to understand if it has a storyline at all, you get seriously bored.

It sades me a lot that i saw people mentioning Metro 2033.. What's wrong with you!? :@

For me i got a few games i won't finnish.
1953 - Kgb Unleashed sure i do like the "hard" puzzles but after like an hour i just turned it off and deleted it. It was really boring for me.
Age of Mythology. This game used to be good but the AI/pathfinding made me just give up on the game.
Blood Rayne 1-2 I might finnish them sometime in the future again but i got bored doing the same thing over and over.
Goat simulator.. Yeah it did look fun in a childish way when i saw people play it but it got boring really fast.
Syberia 1-2. I did not get far before loosing interest. Wanted a game to last me while i waited for Dreamfall chapters.
Sniper elite v2. The game is not bad but i just can't finnish it. Tried 3 times :)

One does not simply hate on Age of Mythology and get away with it. Yes, it's nowhere near as good as Age of Empires 2, but it's still one of my favourite campaign games to date. Heck, I completed that game at least 3 times. The Age of Titans expansion is a bit meh, but at least wraps up the story nicely. Only completed that once. I would definitely give the game another go, and maybe play the original rather than the steam version. Not sure of the differences between the two.

Syberia one of the best adventure games ever. Keep on playing, it's slow at the beginning but it becomes more interesting later (and more beautiful too). That ending... <3

Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness (I played a lot of levels and tried to plow through it twice, but it's one the most boring, unchallenging games I've played.)
Caesar 3 (I played several levels but the difficulty ramps up quickly and stopped being fun because of that.)
Caesar 4 (Difficulty was much easier but became very boring after having finished many levels.)
Star Trek: Away Team (Commandos (which I really liked) clone. Very repetitive and boring after many, many levels I had to give up.)
Star Trek Generations (Had to give up near the end, after the game expected me to win a 5vs1 space battle.)

Out There: Ξ© Edition - I've got this game on my GalaxyS4 my Galaxy Note10.1 and steam, and probably have between the three at least 50 failed playthru attempts or more. Hell I've only 'almost' made it twice...

Pixel Piracy - Actually had to watch a video to figure out how to keep from dying as soon as I left the first port...

Gods will be watching - F'n brilliant game Super hard but the payoff is so rewarding, I recommend it to anyone who's up for a challange. I'm 8 hours in and just got to level 3 only failed it about 4 times so far (original difficulty) Level 1 and 2 took in excess of 10 - 20 failures each, (had to read a guide for level 2) and I think there's like 7 levels or so... Go buy this game seriously.

Sword of the Stars: The Pit - Starts off easy, down 15 levels still easy, down 30 levels not to challangeing, step on a teleport to random level trap and get pwnd by the first mob that spawns, got one shot in they laughed, I laughed, I died, They kept laughing.

All of them.

I've become addicted to playing co-op/multiplayer games only because it's just so much more fun to me to fight alongside my friends and be heroes together than derping around alone or with AI helpers, and it makes me unable to spend more than a 10-20 hours on a SP game. (and since i'm a massive noob, it would require 200 hours)
It's both a blessing and a curse. :(

I won't even play StarDew Valley anymore now that the Co-op version is said to be here 'sooner than expected'.

I don't think i've ever truly finished a singleplayer game.
(Nope, not even Skyrim with 73 hours)

I've beaten one round of FTL: Faster Than Light while in a Skype conversation with a friend who was playing it at the same time for a somewhat-half-co-op experience to keep me interested in playing it, if that counts..?
