List your games that you've put hours of gameplay but still couldn't finish it after weeks or months since start because how boring it was.

Here's mine:

Deus Ex Human revolution - boring storyline and setting, gameplay is too repetitive.EDIT: I finished it :D

Just Cause 2 - bad storyline, bad driving engine

Darksiders - just boring

Final Fantasy VII - stuck at Chocobo Quest

Super Hexagon - It's too damn hard! EDIT: Finished it recently :D

Sleeping Dogs, I planned to 100% it but after the story I just gave up and uninstalled it.

Fallout New Vegas also, was having fun for a short while but I just got bored midway through the main storyline and gave up playing.

FO3, it was too boring for me, and kind of hard since I am shit at shooting but that's only 22h, GTA IV, 40h but other games showed up for me so I kind of left it alone.

I have A LOT of games I never finished simply because of how easily I get distracted by a different game and then lose interest in the previous game. I do have some noticeable exceptions however.

Dark Souls - The game got to be too tedious. Notice I said tedious and not too difficult. The "difficulty" never bothered me too much. The tedium of the cat and mouse games with the normal enemies, having to run back and forth between bonefire and boss as you try to learn the patterns and areas that weren't designed very well. After awhile I said enough is enough, I no longer have the patience for it.

New Vegas - I made it pretty far into the game and even completed the Sierra Madre DLC. However, one day I found myself with a newer upgraded computer. I never bothered to transfer my save file and I didn't have the patience to start all over again from scratch.

Aliens Colonial Marines - Do I really need to go into detail about this one?

I'm sure there's more but those are the ones that stood out in my head.

Colonial Marines are playable now and I really enjoyed it. It's a good game after everything's been fixed. It's a shame that many people just won't care now.

And I agree with the tideous aspect of Dark Souls. That was the main reason I stopped playing it as well.

I actually liked Deus Ex, planning to 100% it. Guess for me it must have been The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing (put a lot of effort into it though) and Disciples 3: Renaissance

Fallout New Vegas, The Witcher 2, Sleeping Dogs maybe, and Tomb Raider. I have moments where I want to play something new so I'll get a game and end up stop playing it randomly.

I have a strange problem that I can't play singleplayer games for more than 3-4 hours. I don't know why, they just bore me.

GTA IV because the story was just uninteresting imo. I even bought the game first on my PS3 and I didn't even finish the game on there!

I have never played a game and invested "weeks or months" and then not progressed because of boredom. How does that even work? If I've sunk that much time into a game, it's because it's interesting. I'm not getting paid to finish them, after all. All the games I've played but not yet finished are on a "finish some day" list.

There are really only two games I've never finished and don't intend to finish despite sinking substantial time into them. One is Overlord. keeping your minions alive during boss battles is frustrating and I tend to end up finishing the boss with the Overlord, which is tedious. I wasn't having fun anymore. The other is Torchlight. I had a nice build that let summons take care of all the combat, but the final boss pisses all over that and I couldn't see any way to beat him except by grinding at it for hours. No thanks. Maybe I'll replay it some day with a different char, maybe not.

Oh, and if you think DX: HR has a "boring storyline and setting", you've got problems. It's not as interesting as Deus Ex 1, but boring?

I loved DE:HR, JC2, and Darksiders, so I wouldn't even know what to suggest to them.

The only game that I've invested a lot of time into but never finished was Oblivion. I played it for 105 hours without ever finishing the main storyline and just decided one day that I was done. I'd had my fill of the things I enjoyed and still didn't like the parts I didn't enjoy, so I moved on. I could've kept playing, but I just didn't see a point.

I stopped playing Oblivion for the same reason, just much more quickly. :-) If a game truly is open sandbox and doesn't care a lot about you finishing the main quest at all, I tend to lose interest quickly, because nothing you do really matters anyway. I've already got real life for doing things that in the end ultimately won't matter, I want a little more focus in my games :-)

That, and I found combat too simplistic to keep me interested.

Probably Will Never Finish
ES: Oblivion - literally the same mission, on the same map, over and over.
And Yet It Moves - Not a big fan of fiddly platformers. One trick pony.
Psychonauts - Wanted to enjoy it but hated the controls and had crashing/save loss issues.
Red Faction: Guerrilla - Started having frequent crashes, reloaded on a new system now it won't even start. Not motivated enough to spend time fixing it.
Hammerfight - repeated gameplay that gets to hard based on a sketchy control scheme that never quite worked.
Krater - Love the aesthetic but the story is kind of week, it's generally unfinished, and real-time, hot-key, ARPGs aren't my thing.

Still Working on It
The Binding of Issac - I'm just not good enough with the controls to beat Mom.
FTL - Consistantly getting to the endgame and building a strategy for it. Love this game to death.

Dead Space... i just can't play that thing. i don't know why, it's a good game, but i can't finish it...i get bored half way through i tried to finish it several times, but nothing.

The witcher: i don't like the gameplay, i love everything else, but the gameplay is strange, i don't like it. (and yes, i know how to use it, using the 2 blades, the diferent stands, etc. i have 30hs on it.)

Fallout 1. i loved it, but at some point i armed a big group of people to take over a city, and for some reason they started to shoot at me (not sure if any of my companions shoot at them, by accident or what)... same with my companions they shoot at me... on my back... then my saves get corrupted

Most games I either stop after a little while or end up wanting to continue but never getting to them. A recent one I played for a few hours, enjoyed but said "enough" was MacGuffin's Curse.

God, I loved MacGuffin's Curse. I even unlocked all achievements. It took me around 20 hours. One of the best puzzle games there is on the market.

It was nice, just not great enough for me to put finishing it before other games. I enjoy Defender's Quest more, though I stopped that too. I'm considering going back, but I have lots of adventure games I want to play and these take precedence.

Mass Effect 1 - Just couldn't get used to the controls and the horrendous UI, will try again though

Saints Row 2 - Ridiculously bad unplayable port.

Metro 2033 - Got tired of playing at 18-22fps

Alan Wake - See above

Hard Reset - Enjoyed the game, lost motivation just before the last chapter and then lost the save game.

Deponia - Realized that I suck at Point&Click games

Syberia - Had no clue how to proceed

ES Oblivion- Modded the hell out of it, no real motivation to start playing the main quest.

ES Morrowind - See above, also it's difficulty curve terrifies me.

Alice Madness Returns - Nothing like the 1999 American McGee's Alice which is my favorite game of all time, got disappointed.

Empire Total War - Disappointing after TW Rome and TW Medieval 2

Half Life 2 - Got bored of the puzzles.

Bioshock 1 (2) - too scary for me, I get paranoid and freak out while playing it. Dunno why, but after 15-20 minutes I have to stop.

Borderland 1 - Corrupted save after 27 hours

The Witcher - Clunky UI and "unintuitive" controls, basically I get distracted from the otherwise nice story and setting.

Sorry for the wall of text I had nothing better to do.

You know that walkthroughs exist, right ;P ?
It's worth playing adventure games for the story and humor. Even if you suck at them then just use walkthroughts from time to time.

Batman Arkham City - It's probably just me but when I reached The Demon Trials stage I just couldn't master the art of gliding and following the blue trail to the end. I put that game on the back burner for now.

Dragon's Lair - I used to play this game in the arcades long ago. I thought I'd get it for the nostalgia. The controls suck.

Bad Rats - No comment necessary.

Psychonauts - I like the game but I got tired of it crashing.

Trine 1 and 2 - Started them both, got so far, never went back. The action was too slow and they didn't hold my interest.

Thief Gold - Sneaking around games don't seem to be my thing. Glad I found this out before I wasted money on the new release.

Mafia - I started it and got sidetracked with other games. I plan on going back and finishing this one though.

Dead Space: Pretty horrid console port, with an annoyingly low FOV. Couldn't find a fix that worked.

Braid: Got it in a Humble Bundle, soon discovered I don't like "hardcore" platformers (probably 'cause my reactions are awful).

Super Meat Boy: See above.

Lone Survivor: Just bores me.

Psychonauts: Very frustrating gameplay, especially with M+KB; tools practically required to be able to upgrade and progress properly don't work for some reason (like the divining rod or metal detector or whatever it was).
