Long time lurker here. It’s about time I contributed to the Cozy Corner a lil bit, so here’s a small GA for Potion Craft.
But first, you gotta prove your potion crafting proficiency! Simply add 5 units of Thunder Thistle and just a pinch of Windbloom at the very end and you Access Potion should be ready!

Just a demo recommendation of an upcoming game. Planet of Lana
Although slightly challenging, the art style screams cozy to me.

Played the demo and I can definitely agree on the cozy feeling. From the trailers it seems there'll be some stealth and maybe some scares too but the overall feeling playing it was wholesome. Plus it's super pretty and colorful.
2022 turned into 2023 so hopefully it'll be ready sooner rather than later

Today is spring's equinox, thus it's the right time to link another beautiful song. Like ICO's main theme, it goes somewhere between cozy, beautiful and eerie at the same time. But it's indeed beautiful to me, very much. Think of robot nannies singing electric lullabies to android babies. Or something. And of course, it's from Equinox.
Equinox Part 3

Yay!
IDEA finally got released.
I played the demo a couple of Nextfests ago and I really enjoyed it. It really stood out with its unique blend of hand drawn animation and real footage. It's exploration like you never really experienced it before and it's very relaxing.
Definitely a wholesome one. Only 10% off right now as it just released but it's worth the price tag, imo.

I believe it was a short first which looked pretty much the same. Then they decided to make it a game so that players get to control the light bulb, as much as possible anyway.
They also added a social element. When you play, and you manage to get to an ending, you get to "create" an idea or a message for others to find along their own journey, which is rather cool.

Already talked about here and elsewhere on SG but in todays climate I think it's a nice pauze button we all need sometimes. So I thought it can't hurt to share it here again. Giveaway here: Playne
The same developer also has a free game that is in the same "genre" called Inward For those interested.

Includes most of the tracks that y'all have posted in the thread + jesuswarjesus's favs which he added to v1 that he compiled himself earlier + some of softbearcas's favs from her own cozy playlist that she sent me + my favs; it's about 50/50 VGM and random tracks, all cozy. (=ඒᆽඒ=) I'll keep updating it regularly with any future cozy music recommendations posted here and with more of my favorite tracks of which I still have plenty hehe.

I made the Spotify one private, but according to their FAQ if you got a link you should be able to access it. I checked and it could be the case of me using the wrong link though, I added a new one, try it now. If it's still gonna be inaccessible I'll change it to public then.
Edit: nvm, decided to make it public as it doesn't really matter. Still, let me know if it works for you.

Another cozy song, this one by Noa. It's like some kind of "Unfinished Symphathy" (Massive Attack) but with happy ending. The lyrics have a very deep meaning for me, and while the lyrics might seem sad, the ending is the cozyest. Because the universe begins with you and I.

Long time no see, haven't been checking the forums as much lately, but today I finally got around to clearing up HB bundle keys, and here are there (and a half) I thought fit the cozy theme, hope you guys enjoy them!
First, a joyful repetitor, followed by a quirky and witty (wild guesses) dating sim one to finally end on another kitty game with some whoosh to it (whatever that means...).
Bonus indie shared GA, as the art is cozy looking, but I'm not sure the gameplay is, too, haha.
Hope you enjoy~
Oh, and here are my new babies:

I'm green of envy, I can't have cats ATM and you have two (at least!)
FYI, you can't reroll in a case of a region restriction, and don't ask me why cuz I still don't know; the giveaway must be deleted with the winner's agreement and remade with the correct region restrictions. However SensualShakti is very throughout with these bundles and the games you've put don't have any region restrictions.

Thanks for the info, didn't know they couldn't be re-rolled in case of region restrictions! I wish there was a predefined HB or Fanatical restriction option, putting them in one by one is a pain when there are indeed restrictions >.> Glad there really are none for these ^^
And these are the only two I've got, but my mom's got one, too ^^ He already made an appearance earlier in the thread, big white cat called Filou :D We've adopted these two exactly two weeks ago, they're still a little wild as in they're hard to pet when not settled down to nap. But we're making good progress :D We hope one day they'll come to sit on our knees ^^ But first, we'd need to be able to catch them and put them there so that they know it's a comfortable and allowed place for them haha Well, time will do it's office, I'm sure :D No rush.
Comment has been collapsed.
Giveaways with incorrect regional restrictions will not be re-rolled because there is no guarantee the next winner chosen will be able to activate it either. I guess this avoids endless re-roll requests, and the onus is on the creator to get the restrictions correct.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks for GAs. 🌼 These are nice cats, but Filou is still the bestest. 🐱

Small bump
I have doubts whether the game really matches the cozy thEME, considering the leading topic, but even the developer describes it as such so hopefully you will not mind a bit less joyful and more emotional contribution to the topic

It's super cozy and wholesome but yes ofc it's got heavier moments that are actually beautifully handled (even though I have hours in the game and still haven't "finished" the story because I refuse to let go and I will keep sailing and fishing and feeding my peeps until... much later when I actually finish the game)

I had issues with the substitution as well. I assumed upper case, since that's what was listed in the original hint. All numbers were less than 26, so that suggests the same case across all of them...but then again, all upper case is really rare in SG GAs. I guess I'm missing something silly. :D

It's a bot protection, unfortunately the site struggles with some people trying to abuse the system. Generally it's not advised to post invite only urls in plaintext form due to this. To avoid the issue I used a simple substitution cipher(key in spoiler text)

Comment has been collapsed.
You're welcome, they also have a Twitter if you want to follow them from there !
I personally look at the recommendations and bought a few games that way, I've never been disappointed, I wish we could support curators directly on Steam, at times it feels like this platform doesn't value enough the time spent by them which leads to sales and money directly on Steam's pocket while you have to search to be able to support the curators who were the reason why you eventually bought the game.
Comment has been collapsed.
I gave up on Twitter in 2016 when it became Trolland but I definitely am following the curation.
And I agree, they should be rewarded way more than they are. When you see all the websites that get money from "sponsored links" and ref links and they do nothing at all but display random links to stores....
Comment has been collapsed.
I'll try to reach out to them then. There is another curator that I like, but it isn't exactly the same point. They do review a lot of cozy games, but their point is to find games you can play with your significant other, even if they are brand new to gaming or are scared of some sort of games. So while they are reviewing a lot of types of games, they precise if it can be nice with a new player.
https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34907518-Games-for-Lovers/
A good example of their reviews is that one > https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34907518-Games-for-Lovers/
It is short, but that's something I can appreciate, as introducing a new player in your world can be complicated. I'm not sure it would fit the cozy vibe though as there are even horror style games
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh that's a good one too!
I could use it for my gf. She's not exactly a n00b at gaming but she's not a regular gamer and she's been very crossed with me since I got It Takes Two because she thinks I bought a "hard game" on purpose (Oops, I really didn't think it would be hard for her) so I need to redeem myself with a couple of good ones.
Comment has been collapsed.
I read the rest of the messages, you should begin with Degree of Separation and Blanc, both have no enemy. And for her alone time playing, you can try gifting her Spirit of the North, it's an excellent story with puzzles and open area without monster to fight and a lot of secrets to discover, pretty much like Lost Ember with less challenging platforming as you don't transform into bird, instead into spirit and not spirit. If you check my profile, all the game listed are games she can have fun with alone and some with you
Comment has been collapsed.
Funny thing with her is she played Medal of Honor and Call of Duty so she doesn't usually mind enemies or combat. She just got super frustrated with It Takes Two because of the very loose save points and well the co-op aspect I guess because she was feeling like she was letting me down when she couldn't do what she had to in time.
But she is not used to playing with a controller so I think light platforming like Degree of Separation would help her with her confidence. I was also thinking of Gris for that.
And oh I started Spirit of the North on GFN just this week, since it was free on Epic and I wanted to check it out to get on Steam. I'm loving it so far. I think she would too.
Your profile is beautiful btw. I'm going to check out your games.
Thanks for the recommendations. You should have a curation of your own ;)

Nah I think you were due for a compliment bomb at some point ;)
We rarely get the compliments we deserve so consider yourself served :D
Since we're on the topic of your profile, games you recommend and in the cozy games thread, what did you think of "A Summer's End - Hong Kong 1986"?
I've had my eye on it for my gf for a while but I haven't been able to decide. It feels like it has the potential of being tragic and I don't know how she'd feel about that even though the setting is unusual in a great way and it got well reviewed.
Comment has been collapsed.
I didn't write a review yet as I want to finish my first read and while I thought I was done, I got a surprise.
I do not wish to spoil anything, I think that the most interesting part of it is the fact that you get to know about Hong-Kong, the customs and beliefs at the time.
It's a good WLW VN in a time and a place where women had to find a man, get married and have kids to be considered as having won the jackpot. Samantha is out of the closet, her father doesn't judge her while Michelle is working in a "suit" job and is harassed by her mother regarding her lack of man in her life (I mean her mother even freaks out when her daughter is out past 10PM.. And she's like 22/23 ?). When Michelle and Samantha meet out of luck, it's clear that Sam has a crush, and the whole novel is about if and how Michelle will grow regarding this potential relationship while being crushed by her guilt tripping mother.
While the Novel follows Michelle's point of view, comes a point (which I thought was the end) it switch to Sam's point of view, she narrates the stories and her feelings and you get to know more about what you couldn't see as the story and the choices are Michelle's after all.
I would say, the VN is good, if you want to support the team, buy it on sale, however the lack of choice have me leaning towards telling you that your experience would probably be the same watching videos.
I have been thinking of streaming VN and have people voting for the choices, do you think that would be interesting ?
Comment has been collapsed.
It does seem like an interesting story. Not sure how she'd feel about the lack of choice but I'll get it on sale anyway to support the devs. I feel like there's a lot of those going around and not enough quality writing put into it.
I have been thinking of streaming VN and have people voting for the choices, do you think that would be interesting ?
Sounds like a great idea. The interactive element is often limited in those and I think a lot of people are avoiding buying VN for that alone but they still feel curious about them so streaming is probably an interesting solution to still experience the story. Having the opportunity to vote and influence the story even without playing would be cool.
I think people might also be interested in what others would pick. I have played a few games that were choice based and gave you a break down of stats after you played a chapter for the big decisions and it's always fascinating to see how it goes for others.
Comment has been collapsed.
"Our Life: Beginnings and Always" is a Free VN and a LOT of choice, like a lot a lot a lot. Not all matter but this VN doesn't put you in a box at all. Hakuoki is another one I love because you get through Japan History with a dash of romance and fantasy.
Comment has been collapsed.
Choices definitely increase the replay value of any choice driven game. I'll check out Our Life. Seems interesting. Even just the nostalgic mood and setting feel unique.
Hakuoki is a series! And a big one. I may try the first game. I don't know if it's my genre but it looks different
Comment has been collapsed.
I backed Our Life and couldn't be more happy about it. I mean, you can even choose to not engage with Cove who is the "male" interest, you can take the decision to not speak to him, you can be more interested by other people. At the same time, you can choose to fall for him on the phase 1.. Or the Phase 4. You won't find any other game like this one besides their next game.
And for fun, You can download the voiced names DLC which is free and pick Ylthin as your name. Yes, you'll have Cove naming me as I was part of the Kickstarter and it was our amazing reward. Honestly I thought it was nothing, then I began to play and Cove uttered my name. I blushed, that was amazing ♥
Another one I advice you to play is Cinderella Phenomenon while following the order dev gave. Because yes, each route is a different story but the tie between them is what makes them amazing. Just download and have fun, those two are part of my favorites and are free

Huh, I just 100%ed ITT with my gf a couple of days ago and she pretty much fits the same description. The most frustating part was probably controller aim and I had to do Helltower alone, but other than that she did pretty well. While some parts might have taken a bit longer, we had quite a lot of fun. Maybe your gf will give it another try some time.
Comment has been collapsed.
Heh yeah the bosses were always a challenge for her and she downright hated me through Helltower but she loved the puzzle co-op and exploration aspects of the game.
I have set up a "boot camp" list of games for her to improve her controller and timing skills so we may try again.
Comment has been collapsed.
Never tried it with her but I probably should now that it went free to play.
I think she would like that because it's more silly and less pressure. We had a great time playing Fling to the Finish and it's not like it's an easy one but it's funny so it's less frustrating to fail I guess

It Takes Two really surprised me with the difficulty. I missed the memo it was supposed to be hard. Played it with my dad. He's a regular games, but he's not into platformers, so, weeee, struggle. And I thought I would be cute and make both of the parents play lol... (although it's a game dad chose actually!)
Kinda glad to see it wasn't just us struggling haha.

Kinda glad to see it wasn't just us struggling haha.
Heh nope it really wasn't just you. I also tried to play it with my sister and after an hour, I asked how she felt about it and she said "loving the game. hating you right now" lol
I was a little surprised too. The game does look super cute and it feels like they missed the mark by not having a difficulty slider.
It was always going to be a game that most people were going to play with more "casual" gamers or non-gamers in their lives so it would have been good to make some aspects more approachable.
All they needed was to give more leeway to players in certain combat situations. It was not hard to do technically speaking.
Still a really great game from all points of views but maybe not designed to the best specs
Comment has been collapsed.
I knew my best friend wouldn't be able to deal with It Takes Two, thus why my husband gifted it to me so we could play together. He's a hard core gamer, like me, so it should be fine.
Take Haven to play with your wife, you'll even have kissing sessions (and more)

That is a great recommendation, thank you, as well as the curator for games to play with a partner. Was stalking a bit on the conversation here. And yes you do have a gorgeous profile, but I'm even more amazed at the number of perfect games and the completion percentage with such a high game count. o.O
Comment has been collapsed.
If you consider the amount of games, the completed one isn't much and I'm a completionnst at heart so I do like to finish games entirely, get all the annoying achievements and so on. I'm glad you like the curations those two filled my wishlist.. Which I should trim, really ^^"

Take care. Thanks for the event. I hope everything gets better.

Sorry for such vague wording before, guess I gotta explain a few things to make it look less confusing and stupid haha.
The RL situation that I mentioned was not mine, it concerns another person directly involved in organizing and carrying out our event. I started the event yesterday not knowing yet about that person's situation and was informed about it shorty after I made the event post, and after learning about it decided to shut the event down. Their situation as you might've guessed is a negative one, so please redirect all your good vibes that you've sent me to that person, who is really one of the better SG forums members.
The CGC x SGM collab event is still happening, just not now. I think it would be right to give it some time, until things get a bit better and we all could have fun with the event. There was a pretty bad timing involved in this whole thing and I won't lie, it triggered me due to my own recent history with terrible timing IRL... I'll be taking a break from SG for now, so in case there's new GAs posted they probably won't be listed in the OP, so you'd have to be on the look out for those GA-including comments instead, until I'm back heh. Cheers.

Welcome to the Cozy Zone, the corner of SG dedicated to sharing and discussing cozy games. Get yourself a blanket, some hot chocolate or herbal tea, get comfy in your chair and enjoy the good vibes and the good gibs too.
I'm certain most of you are familiar with the concept of "cozy gaming/games" by now, but to avoid any confusion here are some excerpts I stole from articles written by people who are better with words than me, which should give you the idea:
Links: 1 2 3 4
With that out of the way and skipping the whole "in these hard times we all need more cozy time in our lives" preamble (heh), let's get straight to what the Cozy Zone is
supposed to beabout:❣ My giveaways of cozy games. To be honest (at first) I just needed a place for my next gibs, as it so happened that I was in possession of some amount of keys for this particular type of games, but instead of going with just another one-time train I decided to make it an ongoing thread. So
for nowthe plan is to do GAs for this thread with games of the cozy kind on a somewhat regular basis.✽ Your giveaways of cozy games. Everyone is welcome to join me in making GAs for games that fit the theme. No strict guidelines, use your own discretion when deciding if the game is good for this thread. In general, fitting games usually have one or more of these tags on Steam: Relaxing / Family Friendly / Cozy / Wholesome / Cute / Comedy; and here are some tags that these games usually don't include: Violent / Gore / Survival / Psychological Horror / Hentai / Dark / War / Military / Dystopian (these are just some examples of some of the most popular tags). In any case, if a game seems cozy enough to you, feel free to give it away. Just make your GAs private (aka invite-only).
Special Cats tag exception: as a result of the FCDSCGC-2023 event, cats were proclaimed the mascot animal of our thread and thus any game that has a 'Cats' tag on Steam is allowed to be given away here, whether it's cozy or not.
Every active giveaway will be featured in the OP (if I'm around at the time it's running).
☯ General discussion of cozy games. Random cozy games discoveries, thoughts on latest games you've played, discounts alerts and everything else related to games of the cozy kind.
◒ Recommendations for cozy games. Do share your favorite games, well known or not. Hidden gems are especially welcome though, cause many niche games often go largely unnoticed.
✧ Cozy events. So, events have become a semi-regular occurrence in our thread, and I'm looking to make them an integral part of the Cozy Zone experience moving forward. If you want to host an event in the thread which requires some coordination or have an idea for a future event, please contact me on Steam; otherwise, feel free to post your cozy trains, celebratory GAs, puzzles and whatnot at any time. You can also contribute by either partially or fully sponsoring the prize pool and/or by donating cozy games for events (as I might struggle to fully cover these prize/GAs-wise on my own, so some help is always appreciated; again, contact me for this).
If you wish to just bump the thread, feel free to so, but keep in mind that the recommended way to bump is the cozy way, which is achieved by posting:
♦ pics of your adorable pets ♦ pics of your cozy gaming space ♦ pics of anything cozy or cute ♦ light-hearted memes ♦ links to relaxing music (make sure to check out our own cozy playlist ♫ too) ♦
One rule in this thread: good vibes only, so please let's make it comfy for everyone and keep the negativity to the minimum.
