I joined Steam back when TestDrive Unlimited 2 was released and only used it for chatting with club members to plan on beating opposing clubs.
I bought Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale just to make Steam functional but did eventually play it

It was TF2, but the first in the "license and product key activation" is Dead Island.
Edit: I looked a little bit more, I found 3 F2P games at the same day and that's wrong. And some other have different dates.

A bundle :)) ... and the first game from that bundle was Two Worlds 2 Complete ... without bundles I would not have a steam account :D :V

Like the title says, what was your first game on steam? You can find it by clicking your name in the upper right, account details, then view license and product key activation and scroll all the way to the bottom.
My first steam account was hacked by an ex and I never got it back, so I am not sure there. But on this steam account it was Skyward Collapse.
The very next day I got Psychonauts and Costume Quest.
