Ufo: Enemy Unknown or Rome Total War :) Also Laser Squad and Lords of Chaos were great way back on Commodore 64 / 128.

Thanks for train - favorite strategy game is pretty basic I guess - Civ IV. Masters of Orion was pretty cool way back in the early 90s too, but gotta go with Civ IV right now.

As for favourite strategy game, I would have to say Fallout:Tactics. Is it the best Turn-Based one out there? Of course not, but I love the Fallout universe, and I had a lot of fun playing it.

I also enjoyed Heroes of Might & Magic 1 and 2 (plus the expansion pack), but HoMM 3 was too hard for me. I also loved Age of Wonders 1 and 2 (I won AoW 3, but haven't had a chance to play it yet).

Although I prefer TBS games over RTS games, I enjoyed the Warcraft trilogy of games.:)

• warcraft II
• red alert(probably out of sentiment as it was the first strategyy game I played)
• company of heroes
• AoE 2
• EU series (especially the 2nd part as newer ones are badly affected by the DLC policy and patches rebalancing the game for the DLC content. At some point there were even technologies which didn't give you a thing if you didn't own the proper DLC)

My favorite strategy game? Nectaris. I simply love it.

My fav strategy game... it's a bit difficult to tell. I spent thousands of hours on the entire Civ series. 500+ hours on Civ 5 alone. Almost the same ammount of time on Hearts of Iron 2 and Europa Universalis as a series.

My favorite strategy game is probably Civilization 2 for the playstation :^)

Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour and Red Alert are also pretty high on my favorite strategy game list.
