few things to factor in though..
wanting to keep the existing actual whitelist normal whitelisters instead of event version
may want to keep a certain ratio on sgtools sent and would rather +group sent instead of +whitelists sent
& least likely, people look at actual whitelist events differently then group events
i'm guessing one of those though ;)

I see where you're coming from, but my whitelist has different people on it, and I would like to be able to make separate GA's for that group simultaneously to the one(s) I will be making here.
Ideally, I would want to be able to have more than one GA for this wishlist event thingy running at the same time, but there's no practical solution for that that I can think of. I wish there was a separate "invite to giveaway" function that was suggested some time back here, it would certainly make things easier.

I think I was misunderstood or I don't understand you. Let me write an example and you will tell me if we're thinking about the same thing.
1) You create a group called emotionengine whitelist. You add people from your whitelist to this group. You empty your whitelist on SG. This way people from your whitelist know each other, they can whitelist each other too. They can share their own giveaways inside the group too.
2) You use your whitelist for events. Like revilheart for puzzles. It saves you much work. When you want to whitelist someone you just add them to the group - once you add someone to WL you don't usually kick them out. During events you're there's more rotation of members so it's easier to use whitelist feature - two clicks to add somebody, two clicks to remove somebody. Plus they don't have to sync their accounts to see the giveaways.

Now I get what you mean! It's basically the reverse of how I'm doing things now. Hadn't thought of doing it like that.
Gotta admit, I never really wanted to make my own giveaway group on Steam (because it may create certain expectations of frequency and quality, etc.) but the it's an idea worth considering. Well, since I've already started with a group for this thing, I'll see how it goes first.
Thanks for the explanation and for providing a different approach, I'll definitely keep it in mind!

Exactly :) If you consider to do it (this event) in a long run it will certainly save you MUCH work. And you don't have to do anything special about your whitelist group. It will be the same thing as whitelist actually.

people adding every game on Steam to their wishlists
Joke's on them. I'm not giving away shiny AAA games here.
people who use the wishlist sparingly despite legitimate interest being left out
I'm aware but I had to draw a line somewhere. Can't make everyone happy ¯\(ツ)/¯

Have to go with fries/chips on this.
Very nice idea for a group as well!

I see you are applying for the current GA. Sent you an invitation since you qualify. In the future, I ask that you reply to the post for the giveaway and not here to the main thread, it helps me keep things organised, thx! :D

I'll be making giveaways for (mostly non-shiny bundled) games and posting them here, but in order for you to enter, you need to have had the game on your wishlist before I announce the giveaway. Pretty simple, eh?
If you are eligible, I will invite you to a temporary group for that giveaway only. After the giveaway is over, you will be kicked from the group or not, and I will start over with a different game. Hence the revolving door. Geddit? Giveaways will usually last for at least a few days.
Please don't expect anything fancy, and I hope I can make this a semi regular thing, but no promises. Remember to reply to the POST FOR THE GIVEAWAY if you want in, and NOT to the main thread.
I will announce giveaways as they get added.
Haven't done this in a while! CURRENT:
ENDED
