Hey everyone. I was being curious about the internet connection around the world.

What technology do people use in countries, what speed and how much they are paying for that.

I'll start with myself - 24/2Mbps VDSL for about 13€/14$ in Czech Republic. I activated this when it was "on sale", full price for this is like 18.5€/20.5$

I live in the U.S., so we're paying a crapload of money for very slow speeds.

Cable, which means in this country (germany): slow shit.
31E per month
theoratically: 32.000 kbit/s + 2.000 kbit/s upload
practically: don't know any site/download where i got over 5mbit
problems: they slow you down when you've downloaded too much on a day & downloads get slow(er) wenn you also upload something - and since I constantly upload to youtube... AND uploads are generally too slow.

i should get DSL -_-

Well, I got no idea how exactly dsl lines work, but in Czech, if you start uploading, your ping goes to like 1000ms.

I'm form Sweden and i got 100/100 and i'm paying 17 USD/15.5 Euro. I'm actually just paying for 10/10 but everyone in this complex gets 100/100 anyways and they seem to be to lazy to fix it :) Not that i complain.

Their catch phrase:
Algerie Telecom The good choice.
I don't know if they are stupid or the greatest troll in the country

50/5 for $40. Just got another discount.

Most cable companies in the United States don't like it when you just want internet. I don't know about other places. I have Time Warner, and I was last paying $60 for 100/10 I guess before the free upgrade to Ultimate 100 expired and I had to pay $10 for that for a total of $70. Called up customer service to get Ultimate taken off, and they offered me the Extreme Internet (the 50/5) for $40 for a year and $45 the year after that. And the rep said I'd still have Ultimate 100, so $50 for 100/10 for a year and then $55 for it. But speed tests indicate that the Ultimate 100 upgrade isn't active and a peek at my bill shows the charge isn't there.

I think I'll keep my $10. I haven't even gotten on the Humble Monthly since the first month. In other words, I'm cheap.

Paying around $21 a month for 100/20 Mbps. There's the 200 Mbps option, but it costs more, naturally :3

Hungary, 1.3 MB/s and 130 KB/S DSL, for something like 25€. Literally the internet service provider that we get our internet from (the only not restricted option here) has MUCH better internet everywhere in the country, but my area.

100/20 Mbps + Few Cable Channels + House Phone for 26,9€
Would rather just have internet but in Portugal we don't have any standalone package just for the internet from any provider. Kind of weird
