Yea, I think they did a really good job on it. The sketch of the character apparently looked a lot like Sam before they decided to even use him as the model.

Hard agree on both counts (though I love Sword Boyfriend the most). Royce had such a unique, otherworldly affect, it was hard not to feel enchanted. When he hit me w/ the 'Who goes first? How about... me.' I nearly spiked my controller through the floor.

Thank god I played on PC, then 🤣 And you're right, his voice is really out there, like it's wavering between curious and detached. It had me dying on purpose. This spoiler-y compilation of his lines is pure ASMR, basically.
