When I first found this site, my steam account was not worth enough to join, so while I waited I did browse through a lot of the rules FAQ stuff...
I would not say that I'm really up to date on all the rules though cause some of the stuff I just had a quick look at. For instance, i was not aware that there is a rule against necro'ing, I just didn't do it cause I know very few forums that look favorably on it ;-)
It took me a while to figure out where the $30 come from, cause i remembered the part about the 20%, but 20% of nothing is still nothing... Only recently saw the "details" thread about the 25$ moved etc.
If anything, I broke some of the common courtesy stuff like leaving a thank you on every thing I join etc. I read the descriptions and if there is something worth reacting I post, but just posting "thank you" seemed empty cause I though joining implied me being thankful for the offer. but then i was reminded how many inconsiderate people are out there that don't think about the fact that the gifts have to come from someone...

It does take common sense to know you should hide a dead hooker but it would take more than that to oblige all the rules on a site on the internet. Why? How dafuq should I know? Send your ticket to God, Gaben, CG, master of the universe, he-man, whoever you prefer.

I lurked for a while and it seemed to work pretty well for me. Haven't really had any issues with breaking any rules

I've always known about the rules. I usually read them when I sign up on a website. (You wouldn't believe what some websites have you agree to, in their terms and conditions outlines, more than occasionally you'll agree to them selling your information to company's.)

I may have read the rules for the giveaways, but the forum stuff I honestly assume is basic, don't be a complete dick rules.

I have never done anything that broke the rules, but there was a span of a few day when i didn't know them

I actually read the rules as soon as I found this site, because before I found this, I had stumbeled across too many fake giveaway sites I felt the need to know what this actually was. I doubt I read all of the rules though, I possibly still haven't, but I do believe I know what it's all about now ;P

Aplied common sense. Read rules about forum before posting.
When I won a game, read all carefully as it was a fake giveaway and meant problems.
Broken rules (not voluntary) won a giveaway of a game that just activated a key for it. Site was stuck and couldn't leave all the ga. Attempted to reject the game won, but author had sent the key by mail, so it was complicated. I had done something wrong with a dlc, but don't remember it well, but fixed it too.
And it seems that someone considered I call out someone. Attempted to fix it but got kicked meanwhile. Fast mods:-D

I read through them all when I wanted to make my first GA, which was pretty soon after I joined (a few days?). I knew most basic forum rules (i.e. dont be a dick), and most of the others are common sense.
I dont normally read FAQs or rules to forums, but seeing as this site is more than a forum I felt I had to just so I fully understood the process of whats happening.

I read the rules and the privacy policy before I ever joined the site. I thought it was a scam at first, so I had to make sure it was legitimate.

I've been here since the beginning of this site. This is the first time I've ever heard about any "rules"

Seeing a large surge of people going "Omg only $30 CV WAI ;____:", it reminded me of when I was stupid like that, too. I wanted to see how many of the forum-goers HONESTLY didn't know all of the rules and/or broke some. I still expect to see people go "Well I read the FAQ as soon as I joined because I'm a competent blah blah blah", but I wanna see the truth. As for me: I didn't know about the FAQ until having the used the site for about 2-3 months. Here's every rule that I broke:
And of course, I got suspended for a whopping 2 weeks, and basically vowed to never come back. That didn't work out xD. I was also tempted to make a thread about my CV not working right. I had about $55 CV, and after having given away a second copy of The Ship, I had noticed that my CV hadn't gone up. I was going to ask in a thread, having noted I had seen people's CV break at $30 all the time, but then decided to just ask someone in the group I was in at the time. At least I had given away non-bundle games too, eh?
Now it's your turn. Tell us your story
