Be honest- How long were you ignorant of this sites rules?

They were actually the first thing I read before i did anything with the site. I usually do that on everything just to make sure I understand how it all works.

I was ignorant to the site rules for the first month. I actually thought that if i win a giveaway with multiple copies i would get all of them (yeah i know... i was a complete idiot XD). Then someone bumped the topic with the rules and i read it XD.

I'll be completely honest, I've never actually read the rules. The occasional time I wasn't sure about something a quick search in the forum would normally answer it for me.

Well I read the FAQ as soon as I joined because I'm a competent blah blah blah
Within an hour or so anyway -- partially because I wanted to read up on the rest of the text formatting capabilities after initially asking how to make line breaks. Also, because it's just good form when you're new on any forum to lurk for a bit until you get a feel for the place.
Granted, my first post here was really stupid.

I didn't read the rules and faq at all, it just occured to me that i shouldn't re-gift or win multiple copies of a same game.

I'll admit I didn't read the rules right away when I first joined but I lurked the forum so much that I basically learned how CV works without reading it myself anyway. I did eventually read the rules though.

I didn't read the rules. I had a basic idea what steamgifts is when I got here (forgot how I stumbled over it) and the name says it all.
Most of the things I needed to know I learned from reading topics and questions around here.
The truth is I never read the rules when joining an online community, I just use common sense. Sometimes this fails but in 99% of the cases it works like a charm.

The friend who invited me back in the day also explained me the rules before entering, so since day 1

i read the faq as soon as i entered. and i thought i was done. instead, it happened that the rules changed very now and then (cv created, bundle list, etc) so i had to check back every so often.

my 1st giveaway was regifted by the douche who won it

A friend of me explained how the site worked, and after that I read the FAQs, the only thing where I was ignorant was how bundle games interact with CV

I am still fairly ignorant of many of the finer rules. I just make an effort to not do anything stupid.

I know that early on was guilty of regifting. So, I bought the game that I regifted and put it in my steam games collection to sorta make up for that mistake.

The whole CV thing is probably the biggest thing that confuses most new people. So, I will make an effort to be a good gifter and as often as possible try NOT to give a game that is on the bundled list.

It takes a while to figure out some of this. But it can be learned.

I never was quite aware of them and I'm positively not being so even now, since even if I were to search for them I'd have a pretty hard time succeding.
Regardless, I somewhat absorbed them while idly reading around giveaways and these forums - either that or they were quite obvious.

I never thoroughly read the FAQ, skimmed it a bit, and looked at the aspects of the site that are unique, but in general just used common sense and no rules broken so far.

Till 4 days ago when posted a refrral and you know what happens next, that was stupid from my part xD.

I knew about the rules from the very femtosecond I was spawned out of the deep, misty tubes of the Internets.

I joined back when this was still in beta, through an invite, and seeing as i didn't quite believe the concept, i read the rules as thouroughly as possible.

12 hrs.

I still don't know all of them, I'm sure. I figured if I get in trouble, it would be the best thing in the world. I go here too much as it is.

The 3-4 minutes it took me from finding this site to going into the forum and looking for the FAQ.

I don't get it. Just because you didn't read the FAQ at all and break some rules...does that mean that the rest of us are liars just because we read the FAQ and/or used our common sense to avoid breaking the rules? Wow, great thinking there.

Probably 2 weeks. Luckily, I browsed the forums a lot, and learned the rules through all the threads that popped up.

I read the rules because I wanted to check out: is this site legit. The FAQ and rules section ensured my sign up.
