Read up on how to actually use the specific Distro that you're using and you'll have a much better user experience.

The problem is WineHQ, not Linux. When CS:GO is released to this platform and they say it's stable you'll run it fine.
SimpleScreenRecorder > Fraps. Did you test it before coming here and saying it's all bullshit? And Kdenlive is a great video editor. (Use this script render at 720p for Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V-6aFDQrn8)
I also think that Ubuntu is not the best option, try something like Linux Mint later. The world of Linux Desktop is kinda rolled but it is indeed viable.
(sorry for any weirdness in this text, English is not my main language. Ty)

quick question: ur screen can draw faster than 60 times per second? as far as I know most can't so when ppl say like "yeah Im at 300fps" I always laugh when some 1 that understands about pc's say "ur screen is only drawing 60 times per second, the fact that the game sends 300 images per second only means 240 are garbage"

Well you will actually wont have on your display more than 60 frames but the gpu will produce more if capable enough, that's why around 80 fps is desirable in this case, because it likely wont drop below 60 even in performance killing scenes, and thus maintaining the smoothness. Also mouse input can greatly profit from high fps.
But you're right 200-300 fps is silly.

julee is right about that if the screen is 60Hz it can't produce more than 60 images a second.
and you're right about that you're pc will still be able to create more then 60 images. However, this does create screen tearing, because the monitor is unable to show the amount of images that the computer gives. So preferably you'd want to turn on V-sync if your monitor is 60Hz to prevent it.

Linux is a great OS, only needs support from big companys, the only thing that makes me stick to the windows is the Adobe software, specially after effects, when that thing will happen i will be in heaven!
About gaming well it will became standard soon or later thanks to the steamOS, even nVidia is making way better drivers for linux since valve announced steamOS.

I tried installing it a while ago... Even though I installed Nvidia drivers it didn't let me change my resolution to 1920x1080... Don't know what's up with that. So I only use linux for programming with Laravel (PHP framework).

Dude!! Keep calm and "sudo apt-get -f install" that comand will repair everything what's wrong with your pc. If you need more powershot install the OpenGL and OpenAL newest librarys with your APT or Synapse. that's everything you'll ever need :D
remember if something is wrong -->> "apt-get update" + "apt-get -f install"

Linux is not really for gaming, I find it really useful on software development and bare-bones debugging and programming.
I've been a windows user since childhood so I pretty much know the ins and outs of a windows OS environment. I only recently been using Linux for programming. If you are already a power user in windows, switching from Windows to Linux is like learning a language that has a very similar lexality e.g: French > Italian, Spanish > Portuguese.
If you really are uber tight on budget and looking for a cheap legit windows, then go here. I can vouch for this guy, he's selling Windows 7/8 licenses for at most 20$.

I don't think Ubuntu is hyped much, it's justifiable promoted. It's a boon to the Linux community as it has garnered so much popularity. It's not Windows, things work differently, and that's a good thing. Finding alternatives to Windows programs might take some research, and running any particular Windows program on it satisfactorily may take work or be impossible. You should have different expectations from Linux than from Windows.

I've personally never really got into Linux, mainly because the only thing I really do on my computer is play games, and browse the internet, so there's no need for better accessibility, but also because I'm a lazy bastard and I'd rather click a button and have it start than have to fiddle with programs to get non-linux games to work. If I ever become a developer, programmer, or hacker, I'll definitely be switching to Linux (or at least running both Windows and Linux xD), but until then I'm going to stick with Windows.

Valve recommends Ubuntu, which probably adds to the hype. Also, it's something that's "Not Windows" and "Not Mac" and it looks pretty and it's hip and free to that probably adds to the hype?
If you're having problems with stuff that doesn't act like Windows get WINE.
Also, I've found that if your mouse suddenly stops working properly use Ctrl+Shift+F2 to snap to console then go Ctrl+Shift+F7 to go back to the desktop. Someone correct me if those shortcuts are wrong, haven't used Ubuntu in a long time.

Oh wow. You are seeing it so wrong. It's not that linux operating systems are so terrible. It is that most games aren't designed to run on linux. If you even bothered to do a little bit of research you would have known that. If you just look at the system requirements of CS:GO it clearly states "OS: Windows® 7/Vista/XP", not linux or ubuntu. Do you also start bitching about you can't run xbox games on your playstation? Laying the blame somewhere else because of your own stupidity is easy. Just next time, if you don't know what you are doing, just don't do it. Don't buy a computer with linux on it for gaming because you can't afford windows. Just wait untill you can afford it. You could work a whole day, or maybe 2 and you will have the money :-o
If you still don't understand it which I assume you won't since underdstanding things might not be your area of expertise, based on what you wrote. Get one of them "understanding shapes for kids" games. The games where you have to fit squares, triangles and circles in the holes. After a while of hard work and dedication you will notice the square block won't fit in the circle hole. You will need a tool like a saw (or wine in your other case) to make it fit, and yet it will be hard to make it fit perfectly. (note: don't try to put the blocks in your dvd drive to install it. This game is not meant to be played on the computer but with your hands)
rm -rf / as root might be a solution?

He is complaining that Ubuntu sucks because he is trying to play the WINDOWS VERSION of CS:GO on Linux and IT ISN'T RUNNING AS WELL AS IT DOES ON WINDOWS.
No fucking shit. Guy is a troll or flat out retarded. Every Source Engine game with a linux version runs roughly as well as it does on Windows, sometimes better.

Get a decent OS. what would you except to get for free?

It's not really "hyped" as you put it at all. People support it because Linux is an alternative to being Microsoft's bitch forever. It is nowhere near as usable as Windows or Mac is for end users yet, but the fact that it's moving in that direction is good for everyone because it pushes companies like Apple and MS to improve their OSes and software just out of fear of losing market share to open source projects.

Hmm, reading Linux vs Windows is like reading PC vs consoles.
Linux-side is talking how they have it all better - better graptics, faster, more customization and control.
Windows-side, just like consoles, says "and we have games that work without much hassle" (slightly worse version of "we have RDR" argument).

You know that windows changed a lot compared to 3.11 so it's easier to use, right?
That this windows interface actually is done very well (Exception of 8(.1)) because every one can use it.
If my grandpa would get Linux instead of windows on his laptop he wouldn't be able to use it. While you are a bit more limited when using windows I think it's stupid to compare it to consoles.
Oh yeah, creating new folders in the explorer is not possible in list view... seriously?

Linux > windows, it's just that linux lacks satisfying graphic hardware accleration.
If you want a stable and secure system without worrying about malware, get a linux distribution.
If you want to play games or use programms like on windows and don't have the will to read the wiki's, keep windows!
When you think Ubuntu is hard, you should try Arch-Linux! :D

I paid 1300$ for new PC but cant use it because Ubuntu sucks so hard. Honestly.
Nothing works without multiple problems, and even when some programm starts working, it doesnt work as good as with Windows. I'm supposed to play cs:go with 60 fps while with the windows version my fps is over 225. I cant open steamchat/browser while I'm in-game. Everything in the game is bugged because Linux. I cant make in-game purchases, so I have to buy my stuff from market with a higher price.
Then, I managed to get a nice frag at CS:GO. First it takes a long time to even find the demofile from the computer. Then I realize that I cant record it, because there is no working recording programm for Linux. (k, one worked, but with 30 max fps, and didnt have a bind to start te record). Even if somehow I can record it, it doesnt help because all linux video editors suck.
So, whats the good part of this shit? Being a hipster or something? fufu.
