Rogue-likes tend to literally be about trial and error. Finding your playstyle and figuring out weaknesses by trial and error.
But if you say that games that are purposefully difficult to force you to try and try again isn't trial and error then so be it.

Every time you get damaged it's t&e, if you got damaged because you made a mistake.
Also, turn-based games are just in turns. If you'd remove that variable (the turns themselves) and turn it into real time, you'd have the same thing happening, just at a slightly faster pace, most likely.

Or, just ding games completely and eat pretzels. It doesn't even matter if it's the hard ones with salt, or the huge soft bread guys with some nutella or cinnamon.
If you're making them yourself, the secret is to soak them in the bath of baking soda UNTIL they float up themselves. Don't rush it, brah, it'll happen. Patience is the secret ingredient.

Didn't you make a whole thread some time ago how you were going to stop saying retarded because it's offensive?
With which I didn't agree by the way... If we start censoring ourself we'll soon end up saying mentally handicapable :D

De gustibus non est disputandum - in matters of taste, there can be no disputes. The problem is not you not liking. The problem is that you repeatedly tell people that they should think as you do, and change because of you, while you're just a random on the internet. On the same principle we could ban all food but the one with the smallest carbon-footprint or burn all books that are about the same topic as only the best one should remain. Gaming exists to spend time and have fun/challenge, each on it's own way, not about optimalization diictated by a small group of

I answered. in matters of taste, there can be no disputes.
I find watching sports boring and I hate going to parties, yet I don't tell people that those are bullshit and they should top doing that because it annoys me. It's quite something that after years you still couldn't comprehend that not all people are thinking like you, and they have different taste in things. Psychiatrists could help with that level of disconnection because it's troubling.

If you keep dying inexplicably, maybe you just need to git gud

But... as we all know alternative facts exist...? ;)

Eh. The bit where the world ends because you fail your quest and the setting switches to an open-world type post-apocalyptic wasteland was neat., and fairly unique to this day.
But replaying the game in this day & age only really shows how boring the standard ATB battle system really is; it turns most Final Fantasy games (at least up to and including 9) into a grindy chore.

I've never played a final fantasy game and I had to look up ATB. Sounds like I didn't miss out. Maybe there's some video recap I can watch though because the story is supposedly good? I also have to admit that I'm fairly excited about Final Fantasy XV releasing on PC. This game looks interesting to me

Yeah man, to hell with these critically acclaimed and beloved rpgs with a lot of interesting content and stories in it, let's all just play what you think is the only thing worth playing

That's a funny way of spelling "Crusader Kings II"

Rocket Kings 2 ; maintain your dynasty of your car while gaining more power in the world. To do this, use any means necessary - marriage into a rich family after defeating other applicants in offroad racing, or use your spymaster to plot against your enemies ; sugar in the petrol tank, slashed tires or manufacture documents to prove their exhaust gas' compnents are above the limitations, therefore sentencing them to banishment onto the junkyards
Additional DLCs include:
-Tires
-Bumpers
-Hats
-Portraits of various brands dynasties
The Digital Deluxe version includes OST, Artbook and Collectible Car Card Game, as well as the exclusive Lightning McQueen character for your dynasty to dominate the world. Ka-chow!

Haha don't worry, he still negatively reviewed them

there is a threshold either you have fun with it despite it's shortcomings(which games dont have any shortcomings?) or you dont have fun anymore because it's overwhelming. If you can enfdure a game for 3 or 4k hours you simply have to give it a positive review on normal circumstances.

No you don't, the game may have been fine up until the point the devs, or someone with control over the game, changed something for the worse. Hence why reviewers can add why they don't recommend a game, to explain to people why they're giving such a review.

I don't know what "t&e" means either.
RPGs never were about skill, they always were about knowing the mechanics and exploiting them. Maybe you just shouldn't play classics if they're from genres you don't like, you'd save a lot of salt that way.

Honestly I'm all about seeking knowledge to further debate between people, but when said knowledge comes with a bitter and salty taste I'd rather use my time learning about other things and leave other people to debate between themselves as fans of bitter salt.

How is it irrelevant? If it's boring then you shouldn't recommend it because it isn't a good game enough if it is boring af. In the title of the discussion you say we should "play a good game instead..... like rocket league". In one of the comments you stated "I expect people to only recommend good games". Then this means that you are not even following your incoherent logic. Given that you can't even make any sense, I will keep playing those bloody rpgs you hate so much, since I do find them enjoyable and not boring like the only game you commented.
