Just a heads-up:
This weeks Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms has a 100$ worth of goodies but you only have about a week to install and register the game to get the freebies.

Lawn Moving Simulator, the same game that is in the current Humble Choice. The timing seems ...odd.

Seems likely, that after making it to lvl 8 on Epic and getting the goodies we will be able to transfer our progress to Steam - https://steamcommunity.com/app/1258080/discussions/0/6278597937789004726/ .

Even though for some reason it doesn't work from the character creation screen, where there is a link as well, indeed it does work 2-3 minutes later in the game from the Settings/Kabam Cross-Connect menu. It doesn't seem to me, that I will stay with the game for too long, but I sure like the idea of an EPIC freebie for Steam ;)

I honestly don't see myself completing every achievement from all the games I own, in fact I really do not care for most of them. Would you really start the game again and try to complete all the achievements If that was the case on EGS?

Oh thank you for the heads up! I missed that in the EGS main page

Rumbleverse? Really? A rip-off of Multiversus which is in itself a rip-off of Smash Bros? Epic really went down in terms of quality and is focusing on bringing in anime characters from irrelevant animes in Fortnite. Amazing.
Comment has been collapsed.
Mainly saying it like that because I fucking hate Dragon Ball. Childish community from experience.
Comment has been collapsed.
To be fair, Multiversus doesn't really have much competition (for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC) so it's actually smart for them to be entering the market now. All that really exists to compete with it is brawlhalla which is easy to surpass. The market isn't oversaturated with smash clones at all and in its current state Multiversus is already showing success. On the other hand.. I don't really get what Rumbleverse is going for and honestly expect it to flop after a few months
Comment has been collapsed.
Multiversus is doing well for only being out for a short time. WB is putting a lot into Multiversus and it's doing a great job at building hype and a competitive scene with a 100k tournament at EVO 2022. Brawlhalla has a pretty decent size competitive scene as well with a $1.32 million in prize pool across all regions this year, they just sort of do their own thing rather than be part of EVO.

One of todays deals behaved really weird for me at first: Knockout City.
Got it on Epic - worked fine.
Read the DLC pack instructions and understood it as I have to download and log-on to get the free DLC pack.
Pressed download. Origin starts.... And crashed...
So I start Origin manually and search for Knockout City - not to be found.
Try again to download from Epic, Origin starts again.
After a few back and forths it is now downloading. On Origin.
What was the point of this?

Which IMO is not close to as good of a game as TR. RDR2 and we would be talking. (But, now i saw they gave away the definite survivor with all three games before, luckily i already own (and finished) all these games on Steam). I don't have the DLC for 3rd game though (extra tombs) so i may play it again in Epic launcher.

I have nothing against competition (this just goes in customer's advantage usually), and it helps me lower my steam wishlist.
I don't really care on what launcher I own/play the games, as long as I can do it.
You just care too much about it probably, but I also think you waste your energy useless😋, because the ones who wanna use EGS will do it (like myself), no matter what anyone else will say...
I see both Steam and EGS or any other platform as a service, and I use them as one.

EGS services are bad. it is heaven for those who produce games but it is the hell for those who play them. EGS is not user-friendly unlike steam and if I buy something I want to buy on a confortable platform that gives me also good services

offers a handkerchief
This seems to be a really stressful situation to you. I really hope the world is going to change into a better place, where every service is going to please your personal preferences.
Maybe you simply should ignore the fact, that user of the free games for "poor people", as you stated them, usually don't care that much, since those have more urgent needs than a fitting service system by your standards. Since you obviously don't buy there, due some sort of pride and moral standards, why not ignoring it entirely and the fact that others enjoy games for free, you have to pay for. Maybe one day you have the chance to use and enjoy the "games" on EGS as well.
Thinking about it, your youth must also have been very troublesome, just remembering to walk into an actual store to buy a game and get the patches on separate Floppy Discs and CD Rom or DVD. I am sure those times must have been unbearably hard for you.
I am really glad you found this free games for Steam website here, which, of course, is a totally different thing, than obtaining free games for "poor people" from EGS, How else could you tell us about your inner conflict and caring thoughts, that even poor people, unlike you, deserve free games on a platform that equals Steam in quality and service.
At first I thought about getting mad since this seemed to be one of pointless threads... but now... I almost feel enlightened. You guys really think about the poor people and not your own advantage. I am almost shedding tears...

Just played Doom 64, I had zero issues with the launcher and the game runs great. Just wanted to let you know ;)

Agreed. They are most likely aiming at younger audience. The ones who don't have thousands of games on steam for example..
Many of my friends along some younger siblings who game from time to time already have their Epic library bigger then steams. So its only natural for them to steer more towards using the platform they have most games on.
I for one have more then 1000 games on steam and I hardly doubt that having 100-200 on epic would change my gaming preferences much. But even though their strategy might work in trying to pull younger folk and casual gamers to epic platform, they still have to retain them. If they continue on providing broken launcher without any features an ultimately a pain in the ass UX, they still can fail.
I mean I dont really have problem with the launcher... If I want to play the game Ill be happy of getting it on epic. I wont buy anything there but I hardly buy anything on Steam directly either way. But what ultimately keeps me away from it is the horrible experience I'm having to deal with absolutely unbalanced and unoptimized launcher that wont even launch the main page because it hogs all of the resources of the PC to start some background process which I cant cancel because everythings frozen and loading.
They just need to fix it up and incorporate features people want. But I have a feeling that Tim Sweeney being the pain in the ass he is, most likely is so butthurt at steam he will try to keep the platform different by sacrificing a lot of features. So I suppose whether people will like the platform and whether it will prove to be respectable competition will show with time.

That is actually a reason why most who stand by Epic don't get the whole picture.. They are presenting huge numbers of active users claiming Epic is doing great, but they don't really differentiate between those who actually use it to buy stuff and who use it only for the free games.
I mean business development specialists at Epic probably know the difference and are aware of actual active user count, but at least you can't really go by numbers they are presenting to look good. IMO its just another dirty strategy to reel in users, by making everyone think they are more successful then they are.

I am glad the service is working well enough, that you can live out your behavior. Isn't this what you call parasitic, using a system and bringing/making it down at the same time?
I suppose this is also the reason why you got almost 1500 games wish-listed, including a lot of titles, which have also been given away for free on other platforms. Collecting things is one thing, but this greed on a different level. Human behavior never stops to amaze me.
Comment has been collapsed.
Blablabla, the games next week are DOPE!
And mediocre games? What are you talking about? I Have a huge library full of hidden gems and blockbuster, among them GTA5, the Tomb Raider games, Borderlands 3 and more - and I haven't paid a single Cent for them.
I really don't see what's the hate there. My, what a strong word and wasted feelings.

I like the winemaking game. I have no idea if it's good or not, but hey, it's free to try out.
Spirit of the North looks awesome, and The Captain is interesting.
There were weeks where the games sucked. But there is always a new week, and worst case scenario, I don't get (any / the) games from Epic. My life will go on, and nobody will care about me not getting the games just like nobody cares about it right now :D
Comment has been collapsed.
I really like the aesthetics of the winemaking game, not sure if I will muster the nerve to figure out thegameplay, haha.
I'm STOKED for next week's games though. Spirit of the North is high on my wishlist and The Captain would have been if I had ever heard about it before.
And right? Worst case I don't like what they are giving FOR F*CKING FREE. I don't see anything to complain AT ALL.
Huh? Looks like it's my CAPS DAY, HAHAHAHAHA.
Comment has been collapsed.
I like it a lot as well. But I was even more pleased about the Submerged game, played the first one several times. Looking forward to next week as well. I am pretty sure Spirit of the North might be playable on Vega Graphics as well, can't wait to check it out. Might give a chilled cuddle session with wife and pets while playing it.
Epic is doing a great job in the selection of games they offer for free. Sure there are some games that might not be my cup of tea from time to time... or worst... they have been given away for free before... why are they wasting my time ....
But jokes aside, just looking at the requirements the games have, there usually is a lot of fluctuation, so even low end systems can utilize them. The higher demanding games have been listed in Geforce Now a lot of times, which again makes them usable for almost any system including Chromebooks, again for free. Their client might not be top notch, but it's getting the job done. EGS even is included in GOG Galaxy as well supported plugin, which pretty much makes the client issues not worth mentioning, at least, if you are looking for and using a system to get the digital stuff sorted out.
There isn't really much room to complain about a free game delivery service, that offers games on a weekly base, that summed up often makes better Bundles than HB or Fanatical. Not to mention some of the headliner from HB already have been given away for free on EGS a month before. The coupon thing is great as well to get access to games that rarely get a decent discount, like Rimworld for example. I got Timberborn for 9,99€ short after the release, which has still not been topped by any other discount yet.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sadly I have to agree here as well.
With an active subscription to Amazon and EGS going nuts on GA, you have to think twice, if buying stuff makes sense. With the backlog going on, I already got several games for free, which I already purchased before and never got to play. Besides, with a huge library going on, it is rather hard to get excited with new stuff. Clanfolk was the last game I got right away, since I don't like the fighting part in Rimworld and had nothing like that. Already down to 0.14/h so I think it payed of way more, than some random bundles I bought before.
In the end, the obsession with owning a huge variety of games does not really help with enjoying them, it rather makes it hard to pick one. With HB changing the way of delivering games, their stupid price policy offering discounts to everyone but active users, the idea of sitting back and getting random games at a reasonable price, without spending hours of checking pages, got annihilated. I really enjoyed it in the past and couldn't care less, if "all" the games were to my liking. It was an easy way to get access to games, you would have never bought in the first place and maybe even extended the genres you play and never would have without.
Looking at it from this perspective, I currently would rather spend my money on EGS for some DLC, to extend the free stuff I really enjoy, than buying random bundles to hopefully find a game that might please me. This is not about the one service being better than another, it simply makes more sense. For me this totally removes the urge for excessive deal hunting at high pace and creates room to enjoy the games, without worrying about missing the best deal ever.

I want to thank you for encouraging me to test the EGS launcher for the first time, It can't be worst than Steam which is filled of useless crap. A barebones launcher would be awesome for any platform.

I hope it gets delisted from EGS and is never available on Steam and never cracked and you never get to enjoy the game because of your own stubbornness. I want Gex on Steam but it's not there so I got it on GOG, same with Tony Hawk 1+2 on EGS.
