Banned from steam? Oh no my friend. It's far worse than that! The S.W.A.T team will raid your house if you use this site.

Winning games are illegal. Do you really think that winning games are illegal?

Don't mind us... Most of us aren't rude, but many are trolls and like to mess around with noobs. Just enjoy your stay at Steamgifts. :)

yes its totally legal mate unless someone giveaway stolen key or something like that, that will get you ban after activation and you be unlucky to win that giveaway but after all you can prove steam that you got the key from someone else even in that case that will prevent your account from being banned

Please don't jokingly break the rules. New users (such as OP) will think that it's okay to trade and get into trouble for it.

...Wow.
Seriously, you still think this is "illegal", as you say? Seriously???
It's legal. And legit and safe. We are thousands of users here, gifting and receiving daily. Check out my profile is you still aren't convinced. I've won many games, and gifted a few.
So yeah, it's legit.

Yes, It's completely legal. Consider exactly what is happening here. All that is going on, is people are willingly using the "send gift item to user" feature through Steam (or using email to send you a paid key, if they don't want to add you). There are no third-party tools involved other than an email client in some cases, and there are no pyramid schemes, no pay-ins, nothing shady.
The best way to think of this is kind of like a "Secret Santa" thing. All people here in SteamGifts are here willingly.
You only have to pay if you want to purchase a game and gift it away to a stranger. Otherwise, you are free to enter as many give-aways as you want, for free. The only drawback of SteamGifts is that because it is so popular, you have only a tiny chance of winning anything, but if you persevere and join enough give-aways, you will eventually get something (and then hopefully consider returning the favour by contributing something, although totally not required).
The only time SteamGifts will ever do something weird, is if a user makes a give-away and tries to give you a region-restricted code. In which case that code will either simply not work when you try to redeem it (and you can then report the giveaway), or it will work, but Valve will then later remove the game from your library due to a bunch of red-tape policies. It's actually against the rules to use region-locked codes, and the users are pretty good about monitoring region-locked bundles and sales. Whenever in doubt, read the top few comments in a give-away and you will usually see someone saying "If you bought this from JoBloggsGameSale.com then the code is region-restricted, please remove".
It's all totally legit, and SteamGifts has been around for some time. Valve knows about the site and all is still well!

Of course it isn't legit, it is a shady company that always increases the number of entries with their own bots and give them 50% of all the games, then they sell them at their own site of selling steam games, which there are ads here, and to others too, like humblestore.
How can this be legal? ITS MADNESS!

Everything's legal about this site. Valve may frown on it for some stupid reason like purchased keys and gifts being given again through contests or it's something similar to reselling goods purchased from Steam, but really, nothing's wrong. Nobody here is stealing from Valve or hacking their system to get free stuff, everything's been paid for, so it's all legal. And the law says we can resell or trade off what we purchase with our money, even if company TOS disagree with those laws; they can't force you to not do what the law says is ok for you to do, and they can't ban you over it because then they'd be "taking the law into their own hands" and thus breaking it. People have sued Valve over this before and won. So don't worry!

Usually if I give away things that are bought and paid for, I have to run from the cops for a few months, as long as you have good endurance you'll be fine.

First rule of the internet: If you think something is fishy, stay clear. If you ask HERE if the site is legit, do you really think you'll get the answers you're looking for?
Steamgifts is 'legal', but if you have doubts, you should really just leave and be safe. I mean in general. Really.

Yes, the site is legit. I haven't won any giveaways yet, but I've done a few and legitimately given the games to people, so it's good.
