Too much of these things have been happening. Someone other SG user posted about the 14 year old who tried to rape and then kill his mother.
Oh yeah, apparently the 14 year old from the article has a child too.

QUESTION!

  • The accused was 14 years old when slashing the throat.
  • The accused is 16 years old now.
  • Wasn't someone very slow?

He was taken into custody awaiting a trial for two years, not that hard to deduct that much.

He's a minor so he can't be tried as an adult, there are complications that prevent him from receiving and immediate sentencing/trial. Granted this isn't them waiting till he turns 18 so they can imprison him for life, it's just how the criminal justice system works. Yes it's slow, but snarkily suggesting that one case is relatively more slow than another is pretentious. I would know, I'm a Chem major [ STAMP OF LEGITIMACY ]

You do not NEED to be 18 to be tried as an adult, a Judge and Grand Jury can [and has] decide someone as young as 13 can be tried as an adult.

I'm quite sure that you cannot wait till he's 18 to judge him as an adult. A judge can determine if he's mature enough o be judged as such, but you can't wait. Moreover I'd say that if you turn 18 previous crimes are forgotten.

This isn't about video games. This is about today's children having no sense of boundaries or discipline or self control because parents are too scared or too pussified to administer punishment because they think everyone will start screaming "child abuse" from the rooftops. They let their kids do whatever the hell they want with no repercussions and they end up thinking they can do whatever the hell they want, thinking they are allowed to have/take whatever they want, and even develop emotional problems.

Parents... you have to hit your kids. From the day they start walking, whoop your kids asses when they get out of line. Do it because it will make them better people when they get older. Do it because it needs to be done. Do it for the good of the world.

Why would you blame video games? The kid is clearly mentally challenged.

People need to realize that contents of the game don't raise murderers. I played all kinds of weird games when I was really young, like Thrill Kill and Mortal Kombat, but that didn't make me twisted fucked up person. It's on parents to set up an example of what's right and what's wrong in little kids life when they can't figure these things out themselves but instead many people still blame it all on videogames when shit hits the fan because they don't have any other excuse for being incompetent parent. Videogames have been a scapegoat for bad parenting long enough. Bottom line is, if you don't like what your kid is playing on a computer, you shouldn't have bought is in the first place (a reason plus why you are a bad parent).

not really related to this matter, but i wonder if children were killing each other in the past, especially during war time and economic crises.

"Then," says the Mail, "in a scene reminiscent of violent video games, the accused sneered at his victim: 'Don't die,' before calmly walking off"

facepalm

Is there not one journalist who has actually played a video game?
