Hey.
I registered 2 years ago and haven't been active at all. Now I have 300P which is a lot I guess, but I fail to realize whats the point of entering a giveaway when my chance to win it is like 1 in 1000 most of the time? Seems to be totally not worth the effort.

I know it's great if you're like level 10 because then there are like 40 people per giveaway, I'm asking about benefits for me :D

You came for the free games, but you'll stay for the great community. Everyone does.

Any chance at free stuff is a bigger chance than no chance, right ?

Also, the people around these forums here are mostly a fun bunch to hang around with, and if you know where to look it's not that hard to find GAs with better than 1-in-1000 odds. (I've created a number that got less than 100 entries, despite having no level restrictions. Just a challenge of finding the links to them...)

benefits for you are chances to win games, that's it. enter giveaways for games you are interested in. chances are low, but there are a lot of giveaways.. being lv 0 you still totally could win one or more games in a single week just spending a few minutes, or rather seconds, every now and then on sg. there's also quite many giveaways with lots of copies of a game so chances to win are even higher

Well, for example, just about 8-9 hours ago I won Rise of the Tomb Raider thanks to an amazing person.
You find cool people, you have a chance of winning games and you can also give games away. I mean, it WOULD be kind of selfish and stupid to just 100% leech off of the website. Even giving away bundle games is awesome! :)
17 out of my 30 wins are from LVL 0 GAs.

"not worth the efforts" ... sure, i understand that clicking the "enter giveaway" button is a hard task, maybe you should try to hire someone to do it ? or maybe you can sue the website due to all the health problem youll get by all the physical activity clicking the button do ?

Well that make me wonder something. If entering giveaway is not worth it, then what is the worth of this topic ? what will you apport since you are answering your own question ? especially since creating this topic probably make you do more "effort" than clicking giveaway.. and makes us do an effort to respond something you probably won't even care to understand since you made your own mind ?

So to answer, its simple : you don't think doing an average of 1000 clic to win a game is worth it, some people think its worth it. THe only thing i know, is that you have only those who enter giveaways, are the one who win it.

by the way its also thanks to people like you wich don't enter giveaway because they don't think its worth the try due to the number of entries, that there is less entries, making the odds still ok :D

Just a lottery, you got a ticket, chances and you win or not, some see the point, some not, if they dont just move away and make place for other, so simple

i also not rich nor a leecher, if you have something to gift that you doesn't want, it's your will to give it away.

If you hoping a 80-100% winning, then either be a leecher, enter someone whitelist or you can even enter lesser entries giveaway for higher win rate.

A chance to win is still a chance. No matter what the odds are.
I've registered a month ago, won 5 games and I'm giving away my 5th now.

I don't get the point of this thread. Most giveaways anybody can enter and literally everyone who enters has the exact same odds as winning. It doesn't matter when you joined, you have the same chance of winning as me or the next guy.

With my 1/1000 chance of winning it seems like I won 80 games in some months. It's not so low chance after all :P

Effort? None.
But if you want to win more you'll have to invest some time in the forums - engage people, make new friends, create topics and give some nice games from time to time (like with trains) .The real jackpot will come after all that in the form of exclusive groups.
It's the best way (besides whiltelist) to win games in SG, belonging to exclusive groups where you have 1/100- or 1/200 chances.
If you're willing to make the effort it will pay itself quickly.

And even if you don't want that - 1/1000 is not that low of a chance, I've won Mortal Kombat X like that (with level 3).

Having a good level like 3+ will also give your chances a boost and it's not hard to get to these levels.

Nobody has mentioned trading. If you feel the return on investment is slight with GAs, there's always trading, where you control what your return will be. I started off only trading, and I still make deals regularly. Last night for instance I found a guy to split the cost of a BTA Humble Bundle with. This seems like a great point to the site for new users, if it's something you want to do.

Still, you may have a point about cost/benefit, in a sense:

Let's say you are level 0, in no groups, and on no whitelists. Let's say you spend all your daily points on games you actually want, and that this takes about 20 minutes (I think that's realistic, perhaps even optimistic, if you're choosy). Still, you probably can't expect to win more than once every three weeks. (I base that on some calculations of probability I did when I first started entering GAs myself. But I was level 1, it might be longer if you remain level 0.)

That comes to 7 hours of your time spent per win. And, again, that number may be low. Given what bundles cost, you could probably do odd jobs for that same 7 hours and buy a couple of bundles with the proceeds. (As a 13 year old kid I used to get $5 an hour. So $35 for seven hours isn't unrealistic, at least in North America. But for that you could buy two Humble Tier 3 Bundles, or a load of less expensive bundles.)

So you'd be spending 7 hours for a possibility of winning 1 game you don't directly choose, verses working for 7 hours for a certainty of receiving many games you do choose. In terms solely of time the choice seems clear.
