I've been saving my cards to craft badges when these start dropping. I just checked, I have 45 badges ready to go and a few more that need duplicates swapped.
Are you supposed to get one with every badge because I did the same thing for the past summer sale and it seemed like the card drops were limited. It seemed like after I crafted 3 badges the event cards stopped dropping. I didn't have quite as many badges ready to go then, so I was able to spread them out and craft 3 badges per day.

It missed out for me but doesnt stop. Its a steam error. I reported it last time and after 4 months a bot answered if you have been scammed or items hijacked kindly mention with date stamp who did it.

You should have the third card in your inventory even if you didn't get a notification. It happened before the last sale as well.

It's already unprofitable to sell mysterious cards compared to selling game-cards, cheapest badges will sell for those 15 cents...

I still see them as profit as I would have crafted the badges anyway to increase level but this way instead of useless coupons I made a few dollars from the cards. I regretted not selling the cards last time because the price reached rock bottom at the start of the sale. Unless there's a crafting event I don't think holding on to mystery cards is a good idea.

But if you're only looking from wallet-point-of-view, then you're losing money, in some cases quite a lot of it...

I think I won't craft badges now. If the card drops will be tied to another dumb minigame again, where your stats are determined by the amount of badges crafted after the sale starts, at least I have some head start on the normal drops.

Is there any 'loss' in crafting badges now as compared to crafting them when the sale starts (e.g. will I get something extra later)? I don't know how Steam Sale Cards work, this is my first time, don't judge :D

Only profit could be if you get Foil card and someone buys it for those $10. Otherwise, there's no reason to craft them today, especially if you want $$$.

We don't know for certain at this stage although the most recent trend is no disadvantage.
I don't believe there was any disadvantage to crafting early in last year's winter sale, the same for this past summer. However, during winter sale 2 years back they were giving out in-game items for crafting, but only once the sale had started. These items could be traded or sold, and as some were rare or unique they were worth a lot if you managed to get lucky. I only got common, worth $0.08 kind of stuff :p

I just hope there is an incentive for people to craft holiday badges and the price goes up. That was the whole point of crafting to level 100 so I can recover some money back. Right now the prices are really low.

I've started counting them this year, and while I frequently don't get a mystery card in the new item notification, it still shows up in my inventory. The count has been correct so far.

Got 51 regular and 2 foil cards. About 6-7 times it seemed like I didnt get a card at all, but I didnt count the badges so I cant say if they showed up later or not.
