🤬 [Video on Twitter] - Today, russian terrorists attacked a vehicle of the international humanitarian organisation Road2Relief in Chasiv Yar, killing two volunteers - the director of Road2Relief, Emma Igual, a Spanish citizen who studied at the University of California at Berkeley, and Anthony Ihnat, a Canadian citizen. Two other volunteers, both German citizens, were injured. Road2Relief's efforts are entirely focused on civilian projects: the evacuation of civilians in war zones, medical evacuation, humanitarian aid distribution to frontline communities, and the provision of mobile clinics that assist local residents who are unable to leave their homes.
They make every effort every day to mitigate the consequences of the systematic terror of civilians by the russian occupiers. A painful, irreparable loss. Emma and Anthony will forever be in our hearts.

My school was pretty close to one of the bombing sites. Information was scarce, we knew that some of our classmates lived on Kashirskoye shosse, and several kids were late. I remember how scared I was. Fortunately, all of them ended up safe and sound, but that was pretty awful for a 14-year-old anyway. Damn, that September was scary for everyone in Moscow. Imagine living in a huge city where literally any building full of people can explode right when you're sleeping peacefully. So yeah, some parts of the whole story might seem comical in hindsight and from a totally different area, but it wasn't funny there and then. It was a nightmare.

These days, for me this whole story is about the fact that Putin murdered and terrorized his own citizens long before he moved his operations abroad and was finally recognized for what he is.

🤬 [Video on Twitter] - The UN called torture a part of Russian state policy:
The torture used by the Russian military against Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war has reached such a level that it can be called a systemic, state-endorsed policy, said UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Alice Jill Edwards.

“This is not random, aberrant behavior. This is orchestrated as part of state policy to intimidate, instill fear or punish to extract information and confessions,” she noted.

  • [Video on Twitter] -Ukraine has regained control over the so-called "Boyko Towers" - Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
"Boyko Towers" are gas and oil drilling platforms off the coast of occupied Crimea in the Black Sea. Russia occupied them in 2015 and used them for military purposes when the full-scale invasion began.
The return of these towers to Ukrainian control is of great value, as they were used by the Russians not so much as SAM sites to cover their warships, but first and foremost as platforms for all sorts of monitoring, control, and surveillance sensors, expanding the Russian operational capabilities. The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine deprived the Russians of many monitoring and intelligence capabilities by knocking them out of these towers. This step was crucial not only in Ukraine's struggle for the Black Sea but also for more space for its coastal and air operations.

❗ Timothy Snyder is unfortunately right about the cowardice of the West, which hesitates to call Russia's war against Ukraine a genocide
[Twitter] - Yale University historian Timothy Snyder says the evidence of Russian genocide in Ukraine is “clear” but argues that many in the West remain reluctant to directly accuse the Kremlin as this would oblige them to act more decisively.
Timothy Snyder: People know Russia is committing genocide in Ukraine but are afraid to say so

“The reason people don’t say it’s genocide is because they know that it is. That sounds paradoxical, but I think people in the West avoid saying ‘genocide’ because if they said that it was, it would require more action, and it would require them to ask themselves why they didn’t do something earlier on.”

A must read - OPINION: 10 World War II Myths the Kremlin Wants You to Believe (I selected a few)

1- “The Great Patriotic War” began on June 22, 1941. Moscow has long taught that World War II began when Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union. They conveniently forget to mention that it actually began nearly two years earlier, on Sept. 1, 1939, when Germany invaded Poland, and that the Soviet Union was then allied with Germany and concluded a secret pact to divide Poland between them – a division by which Moscow also swallowed the independent Baltic states.
2- The USSR hated Nazism. Anti-Nazi and anti-fascist pre-war propaganda ceased in 1939 with the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact mentioned above, whereby Moscow and Berlin would divide Eastern Europe. Having fallen into league with the Nazis, the Soviet propaganda machine turned its attention to attacking the British, who had “launched the war against Germany.” Not until after the Nazis invaded the USSR, in June 1941, did anti-Nazi slogans return to Soviet society.
6- The Soviets alone defeated Hitler. Even Stalin did not believe this lie, as he had to admit that without the tanks, planes, trucks, steam locomotives, gunpowder, explosives, steel, aluminum, fuel, clothes, shoes, stew and powdered eggs, received thanks to America’s Lend-Lease, any victory would have been out of the question – not to mention the key role of Allied military action in opening a new front in the West.
7- The Allies did not want a second front in France. To the contrary: Churchill and Roosevelt understood who Stalin was and what he might do in Europe, which he was conquering, so they tried to get to Berlin faster than the Russians.
8- The Soviet soldiers were unanimously heroic. In reality the Soviets had “penalty companies” meant to prevent soldiers from retreating. “Not a step back” was the order of the day, and if soldiers disobeyed, then the consequence would be summary execution. Then there were the Russians of General Andrey Vlasov’s army, which collaborated with the Germans. They would not have existed if everything were as rosy as the Russian myth claims.
10- Europe was liberated by the Red Army. Eastern Europe was largely occupied and robbed, its peoples enslaved by Moscow for 45 years, often with methods as brutal as the Nazis’.

I would say that some points sound doubtful
1 - everyone knows when WW2 began, because this is the most mentioned topic in textbooks
8 - also everyone knows about Stalin's cruelty - gulags and "not a step back"
I agree with the rest. a lot is given only from the good side without the depth of history. 6 point is probably the most unpleasant, considering USA only an enemy and thinking that USSR won by itself (because the most affected)

Funny how ruzzky bootlickers rushed in to downvote it. Good that they have left their credentials, for history.
Edit: Watched it. It could be so much better if it didn't try to press so much on emotions. Also, first 50 minutes are redundant, it's too much of Sean and too little of Ukraine. Still, any publicity is good I guess. Maybe it will open somebody's eyes to what's happening in Ukraine.

At the UN General Assembly

  • From President Zelensky's speech - [Twitter] - Ukraine gave up its third largest nuclear arsenal. The world then decided Russia should become a keeper of such power. Yet, history shows it was Russia who deserved nuclear disarmament the most. And Russia deserves it now – terrorists have no right to hold nuclear weapons.
  • From President Zelensky's speech - [Video on Twitter] - "Each decade Russia starts a new war. Parts of Moldova and Georgia remain occupied. Russia turned Syria into ruins. And if not Russia, the chemical weapons would have never been used there, in Syria.
Russia has almost swallowed Belarus. It is obviously threatening Kazakhstan and other Baltic states. And the goal of the present war against Ukraine is to turn our lands, our people, our lives, our resources into a weapon against you."
    - President Zelensky at the UN General Assembly.
  • From President Biden's speech - [Video on Twitter] - "No nation wants this war to end more than Ukraine... But Russia alone, Russia alone bears responsibility for this war. Russia alone has the power to end this war immediately. And as Russia alone, it stands in the way of peace, because Russia’s price for peace is Ukraine’s capitulation, Ukraine’s territory and Ukraine’s children." - President Biden at UN General Assembly.
Nebenzya's behavior in the beginning of the video is telling.

  • [Twitter] - Aleksandr Kots talks about the situation in Klischiivka. Disregarding his intel on positioning, he says Ukrainians have crazy artillery firepower and an advantage in drones. He also says once Ukrainians take a position, they can fill it with concrete and build it up overnight. That is an interesting post from a known propagandist.

🤬 What Russia brings to Ukrainian children
[Photo on Twitter] - Roman Oleksiv, 8, is a victim of a Russian missile strike on Vinnytsia on July 14, 2022. He suffered burns to almost half of his body.
Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital l in Dresden performed three surgeries a week to help Roman recover. There, for the first time since his injury, he opened his eyes and took his first steps.
Now, Roman and his dad have returned to Lviv, where he will undergo rehabilitation in the burn unit at St. Nicholas Hospital. A team of doctors works hard to restore the boy's arm and foot. Roman dreams of returning to playing the accordion and organizing a concert for his doctors once he is well.
Roman's mom, who was killed on that terrible day of the strike, will no longer be there to hear his music.

[Video on Twitter] - A group of Russian artillerymen have been reassigned to infantry because they ran out of ammunition. They fled the battlefield because they were being sent to assault without proper training. Anti-retreat units are behind them, they say.
As many others before them, they lay their woes in front of the mighty tsar (or maybe some local tsars). While they were artillerymen, it was ok for these soldiers to kill Ukrainians. Now, they fear for their lives.

From an extended version of the video, [Video on Twitter]: "I received an order to assemble a group of six people for a certain death, for some kind of assault. We will not refuse and do our duty. Also, the ammunition is terrible. It doesn't even fly away and doesn't explode. We basically have nothing to work with. This morning, something terrible happened. A person, not from our unit, hanged himself, everyone is in fear. A year has passed and we didn't have a single vacation yet. We do not refuse our duties but we are simply sent to a certain death'."

Russia can't win
[Twitter] - Russians do not understand why Ukrainians did not surrender. Why did Ukrainians not want to be part of the "great empire"? To be the "younger brother" of the Russians? Why were Ukrainians not afraid of Wagnerites and Kadyrovites?
Russians do not understand why the "operation" has been going on for 584 days already when it was planned to take Kyiv in three days and have a Russian army parade there. Instead, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already killed about 300,000 occupiers and are successfully destroying the Black Sea Fleet. Aircraft, military bases, infrastructure and logistics centers of the Russian army are being destroyed in the depths of Russia.
This is a war of freedom and justice against violence.
For Russia, this is an unjust, criminal war, since it is a war for their interests, supremacy and domination.
For Ukraine, it is a just war - an existential war for the survival and sovereignty of the nation.
Victory in war always belongs to those who are right, who are determined, patient, and devoted. Those, who have something and someone to defend at the cost of their lives, win the war.
Russian soldiers, no matter how hard Russian propaganda tries, have nothing and no one to defend. They are invaders, rapists, thieves, and murderers in a foreign land.
The ultimate victory in war belongs to those whose goals are just and moral. In war, the winner is not the strongest, but the one who does not give up and does not lose.
Ukraine will win!

Russia promised to "protect" these people from Ukrainians but instead mobilised all men and threw them into meat assaults, killing tens of thousands, and leaving their region in absolute ruin.
The "13th" is complaining that despite this sacrifice, it took a whole year to "annex" these territories. And those who survived the Russian World are now being prosecuted if they decided to save their life and flee.
