So, as kids, or simply growing up, we all have that /one/ game we will always cherish in our hearts.

What game is that for you? Could even be a game you recently played that had stuck to you.

For me, it would definitely have to be either the Legend of Zelda series, or most games from rareware. (Mostly Conkers bad fur day and Banjo.)

Such a good game. Even compared to all the off-the-wall indie platformers that are coming out now for the PC now 'Yoshi's Island' was still incredibly creative.

i liked it because the difficulty depended on what you wanted to achieve.
i could beat the game easily without getting all the collectibles but if i wanted all 20 red coins, finishing with 20 stars, 5 flowers, the game would be extra hard.

Yeah, I don't think I ever did quite unlock everything. Though, on the GBA I was close.

I mostly loved it for the beautiful graphics and off-the-wall design choices though--the boss fight on the tiny planet or the hallucination effect when you'd touch spores, for example. The first time through that game was full of delightful surprises.

Why do I not own a version of this game right now?

Like lots of people here, Zelda.
Another game I love with all my heart : MediEvil. I fell in love with that poor Sir Daniel Fortesque and with that soundtrack <3

The color palette hurts my eyes and instead of making a better AI, they made aliens stronger. Well, at least you cannot storm everything with AC:HE anymore and even with high tech the game is somehow challenging. The new research system is a nice touch tho. :)
