She shouldnt have killed herself, she should of had run away from home or run away to live with you, if you saw the signs surrounding her, the way she was abused in real life and on the internet, why didnt you step forward, give her your hand, accept her in your home and protect her from those toxic sources, you could of done atleast something rather than just sit on the sidelines and be a shoulder for her, you even mention how you drove by her house, you could of pulled her away from all this but i guess you didnt have the courage, the motivation, the iniciantive, you just sat there without offering anything actualy helpfull, anything she actualy needed, you could of helped prevent this, not gurrantee prevent it, but something to help prevent it.... from the sounds of things, all she had, was you, not even her family tried to comfort her if it came to it....you should of accept her in your home, protect her from all those bad sources or help her live on the lamb...just...something.... i feel terrible for what happened to her, it sounds like she was such a innocent, sweet, unique, kind, friendly girl... she shouldnt of killed herself, it was so cowardly.... better should of killed that objectifying fucker than herself rather... this is so sad...thanks for sharing regardless, mission acomplished, we heard her.... if theres anything of hers left behind she wrote or made....publish it, post it, spread her legacy as to not forget her....as easily atleast.... and dont fucking give up yourself either, ya hear? You have to live on, for her.

This makes me extremely sad and angry too. There's no way a culture with this level of discrimination towards certain collectives should be able to remain unchanged. I guess oil is the main reason why this situation is still going on today.
I live in Spain and certainly there's a lot of hate, people confuse helping refugees with accepting or respecting a culture that goes against our core values. There's a lot of misinformation and wrong decisions everywhere.
What happened on imgur is the same that happens all over the internet: most people are filled with rage or loneliness or anything of the like and decide to make fun of others just to forget about how miserable they feel for a moment.
They might not have depression, but they're not sane in any way. Unfortunately, there aren't many sane people left in this world.
I hope you stay strong and overcome this. I also hope that things get better someday. We're in the middle of a world crisis right now, who knows where we're going. Take care.

When I was younger my family and I went to Syracuse to visit my cousin and aunt. My cousin made us a huge breakfast one morning but we went out to eat because we didn't realize it was for us. We found out when we got back that he made it for us. A couple months later I was told that he killed himself. Not because of the breakfast thing, but most likely because he had PTSD from his time in the military. Still, I feel lingering guilt that I didn't eat that breakfast.
I'm not trying to take away from your story, but share that I kind of know how you feel even though every case is different. You shouldn't blame yourself or feel like you didn't do enough. You probably contributed to the happiest moments she had in her life. Those people who bullied her are either young or too heartless to even be changed by your words. Try not to waste your time on them. It may feel like its helping you now but I don't think it will make you feel good in the long run.
I hope that you change your mind about taking your own life in the future. I don't want to lecture or tell you things you've probably heard a million times but I feel like I have to :(. There are people who care about you, even if it doesn't feel like it sometimes. If you do take your life, you'll be hurting them the same way you are hurting right now. Depression really sucks and a lot of time you forget the good things you have or could have in the future. I hope you're able to stay strong and push through the pain. Even if you can find one person or one thing to cling on too.
Sorry for my long rant, and I'm especially sorry about your friend. She sounded like a lovely person who shouldn't have been put through that pain. I'm honestly terrible at advice and help, but if you ever just want someone to listen to you then my steam is open. Sometimes just ranting and yelling can help in a lot of ways.

You did everything for her under given circumstances. And you have nothing to blame yourself for. Moreover, I am sure that you were the only ray of light in her life - if anything could bring her joy in the conditions you described, this was communication with a reliable friend, with a person who understood her and did not condemn her for dreams forbidden - with you. She was lucky to have you as her friend.
Regarding how she left - believe me, you could not do anything, she made the decision herself, albeit under the pressure of terrible circumstances. If this was to happen, it would have happened anyway. I'm sure she is in the better place now, happy and smiling.
Try to read Michael Newton's "Journey of Souls", maybe it will give you some comfort.
Stay strong, my friend!

that's so sad to hear and you have my condolences but i don't see a reason to promote hatred, what your friend's family did to her isn't Islamic nor has anything to do with the so-called 3rd world Islamic countries and it's nothing but a tribal traditions that has been going on even before Islam was found and you know better that Yemen still under tribal system in many ways although it's a republic country.
If you have given up on your faith that's your own choice and no one has the right to blame you but you should still respect those who still holding to their faith and is not rational to generalize things.
as a Muslim i don't have hatred for any nationalities/races whatsoever and i condemn any act of violence or terrorism towards any innocent people regardless their faith, color or race and that agrees 100% with teachings of my religion.
don't blame Islam for tribal narrow-minded people who don't follow teachings of their religion.

Those traditions has been their before Islam was found, they even used to bury new-born female alive cause in the Arab Peninsula cause according to thier traditions it was shameful and you can study history if you haven't already but if you still insist that those traditions was born with the religion i'd like you to explain why.

No, i'm not Saudi afraid to say but i see you're asking questions then assuming what my answers would be and that is not a proper way of having a discussion, also i'd like you to refer me to some resources you've been reading like those 45 books or whatever and Aslo you're putting words in my mouse that i said that people used to bury children and then they are the same people who delivered the message? cmon' man what are you up to here?
You have given up your faith as you claimed and that's is fully understood but what's bothering you about other's wanting to be Muslims or whatever religion? and what did the prophet say about women at his last speech before death if you claim knowledge?
I would love to have a voice call with you since you claimed to have knowledge more than anyone i know (not sure if that includes me or not) and let's put your knowledge to test but if this thread is to be locked that'd be cause of promoting hatred and racism which i don't appreciate personally and the discussion was about Islam more than the memorial of your friend which is also questionable.

(2:256) There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (Quran - AL BAQARAH 256)
Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just. (Quran - 8 Al-Mumtahinah )
Just two verse from Quran to prove you wrong so please don't try to fabricate things and if you are so knowledgeable and you found holes in Quran you gotta enlighten us about it so we all see the truth instead of you just saying thing.
If you are gonna compare Quran to Harry Potter then i can say confidently that you have never read Quran nor you're from Yemen, the offer is gonna be up any time you feel like talking i'll be there and BTW investigating my profile is not gonna be beneficial :)

Omar Ebn Al-Khattab's incident is not well-known at all and you can't prove it right with any authenticated historical evidence and even if it was right Islam was to prefect morals not to look for already-perfect people.
Still my offer is valid, let's have some intellectual conversation.

Not at all :), you're not from Yemen nor even Arab, just study and you'll learn that many Islamic events are historically authenticated by Muslims and non-Muslim historians alike.

Wow, you claimed to have knowledge better than anyone and now you're saying your English is better than mine (which is irrelevant) so why making a video in English and not in Arabic in order for me to understand you?
I think what matters is what makes you a better person and believe me giving up your face... Uh oh, my bad - your faith (according to your story) didn't make you a better person cause what did i do to you so bad to raise your middle finger, you're full of hatred then you're no better.
BTW nice little fake video, it proves nothing since that scenery is not a National Yemeni landmark to begin with، it can be anywhere :)
You need to chill man and stop being racist and hateful, if your tribe is fucked up doesn't give you the right to talk for other countries when you've never stepped out of yours to see how people live and whether they accept refugees or not.
Still you haven't referred me to any resources.

Fair enough and i understand Arabic very well and another video in Yemeni dialect would be a strong support to your cause and i didn't call you a liar i'm just a practical person who rely on evidence i don't just go believe whatever media projects or people say without a strong evidence.
I would like to know which Muslim denomination you were from cause i agree with you that Islam has been altered otherwise we wouldn't see Sunni, Shia or Sufism but the question is: Is Quran altered? does Quran promote violence or ordering people to what they did to you? you said you memorize it so point something out.
Still wanna have a look at your resources cause i also have some concerns in my mind so help me please to find the truth,

Fuck man. I know a lot of what you are going through because I'm probably from the same country as you and went through something similar. I know how helpless a person can feel when the whole fucking society is built to just crush you. Just hold on to life a little while longer friend, Maybe enough of us can eventually change our societies.

People are unbelievable. Know that this isn't your fault. The fact that so many people are soulless, spiritual @#$!ing toilets is not your burden to bear.
I'm really sorry about your friend. It's tough for me to comment about how wrong I think her situation was (and is for millions of other women) without sounding really culturally insensitive, and that's definitely not what I would want to go for here. But let's just say that I take significant issue with forbidding other humans to live the life that they want to, and I definitely understand how trapped your friend must have felt, and how trapped you felt in not having the ability to help her without causing more drama in her family life.
Hang in there. And never be ashamed of wanting to speak up for people who don't have a voice of their own. That's one of the only truly righteous fights that exists in this world.
